Great selection of breakfast. Very clean , sufficiently spacious room with modern design.  Strong shower. Comfortable bed.  Close to JR station.  Point to note is that in house parking needs to be reserved early otherwise public parking is still available.  The automated check in and check out machine does not function well. Suggest to do check in out with staff in person.

Honestly, I don't know where to start. I'm completely touched by my experience at this hotel. First, the rooms are clean, big, surrounded by nature, greenery, and a beautiful lake that you can observe for a perfect morning scenery. Secondly, the facilities are top notch! Everything is clean! All facilities are provided to you with great quality; clean floors, perfect white clean towels, the hot spring water is clean, the pools are clean, the shampoo and body wash liquids smell amazing! (Like the baby colon your mother would give you as a child with the blue rounded top!) AMAZING! However, I had a very special interaction with one of the staff who deserves a medal for being so responsible and ensuring that her guest was in good hands. Unfortunately, I got sick one morning while I was checking out. I was having an anxiety / panic attack that made me really disoriented. I didn't feel safe driving afterwards and I requested for the ambulance to be called. The kind and beautiful lady at the front desk handled all my paperwork, and ensured clear communication between doctors and nurses. After getting a physical check at the hospital for 2 hours, the results came back fine. There was no problem at all, however, the lady from the hotel staff was still there to see me out and ensure that I was safe and ok to drive. She was amazing! Thank you a million times for providing a fantastic place to stay, but also for taking great care of me! ( I don't have any pictures of the hotel because pictures aren't allowed to be taken within the hot springs, but trust me when I say, everything looks just as it is in the pictures. ) I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Absolutely love the hotel. Modern and spacious. There was a strong earthquake off Ishikawa and we felt it too but the hotel was very quick to reassure that it was safe. Near to train station and Maroot.

As a destination in life, one day is definitely not enough. It is strongly recommended to stay at Tateyama Hotel for one night. After all, it is the highest hotel in Japan and the best hotel in Murodo. The hotel is right at the entrance of Snow Valley. You can see the snow-capped mountains as soon as you open the window. The location is excellent. The hotel organizes stargazing, sunrise watching, and ptarmigan watching activities every day. The most important thing is that as a hotel guest, you can enjoy the snow wall of Snow Valley up close and personal after the bus tourists leave, take photos as much as you want, and experience it to the fullest!

Very good location. The room is quite old but very clean. All other facilities are good.

We had a wonderful stay in this new and clean hotel. The decorations are minimalist that gives a very comfortable feel. Every time we step into the lobby at level 5 we feel warm and welcome. The receptionists are all very friendly despite the language barrier. The parking is connected to the drop off at level 5 hence it is very convenient. 24hrs parking is at 1300 yen. There seems to be cheaper options around but the premium is for convenience. Our room is clean and bed is on the softer side. The onsen is clean and spacious.

Offers modern amenities, impeccable cleanliness, and exceptional service. Highly recommended for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. And a good view on higher floors. There was an extra charge at reception to select the room on top floors.

For anyone travelling along the Tateyama Alpine route, I would highly recommed a stay on the mountain so you can enjoy the scenery without rushing. We love Ryokan (Traditional Japanese Inn) because they always offer delicious course meals (dinner & breakfast) and a public bath. We even enjoyed a free flow of local sake and liquor at dinner! The Midagahara Hotel even offer hiking guides, boots and stargazing guides after dinner. It was a shame that we did not take the hiking trail due to the weather condition (foggy and low visibility), but the stargazing part did not disappoint - we were able to see a sky full of stars by our bare eyes. If we could withstand the cold we could have seen the Milky Way. The hotel shop also offers a wide range of local specialties. We had a nice sleep in our Japanese style room and woke up to a sea of clouds. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to the Tateyama Alpine route.

Hotel is very near to Toyama station, just opposite the station. Hotel is rather old but seems renovated recently. Central air-con is very old with dated controls and not working well, so room gets very stuffy at night. Free drinks offered when we didn’t opt for daily room cleaning. QR code given to choose our drinks at a vending machine at the lobby. Don’t come to Toyama during Dec-Mar, as most attractions are closed for winter. Overall, a disappointment due to the faulty air-con and boring itinerary.

The hotel provides free coffee, hot and hot tea, which is very good. Breakfast and dinner are much better than the same type of hotel. It is to remember that if you want to be the hotel's most famous hot spring mud SP, you must make an appointment when you book a room, otherwise you can't do it at the store.
