I had such a great experience staying at Hue Hotels and Resorts El Nido. The location is super convenient, it’s close to everything! Restaurants, shops, and the starting points for island-hopping tours are all just a short walk or tricycle ride away, which made getting around really easy. The best part for me was the rooftop. The view from up there is stunning — you can see the dramatic limestone cliffs and surrounding greenery. It’s the perfect spot to relax after a day of island tours or to catch the sunset with a drink in hand. The hotel itself is modern and stylish, but still feels relaxed and welcoming. The staff were friendly and always happy to help, which made the stay even better. If you’re looking for a comfortable, accessible place to stay in El Nido with amazing views and a great location, Hue is a solid choice. I’d definitely come back.

I would recommend The Funny Lion for anyone staying in Puerto Princesa. The hotel was very clean, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the facilities were excellent. Everything from the rooms to the amenities was well-maintained and comfortable. I had a great stay and would definitely come back again!

Really nice resort. Clean, modern, several beautiful pools which were never very full and the staff is incredible. They help in any way they can, including arranging for a last minute boat tour for us well outside of their usual hours and seemed happy to make it work (add the guides they work with are fantastic too). It was a very peaceful and comfortable stay overall.  The one issue is the food, they put a lot of effort into it and have a very large breakfast buffet every day, but the food just isn’t that good. There's one restaurant in the resort and there aren’t many (any?) other food options in the area, so it’s pretty relevant. The food is a bit bland or with strange flavor combinations. And worse, it takes a comically long time to get served, even if just a sandwich, and it’s usually cold when it comes. This happened at all 4 of the meals we had there outside of breakfast.  But... It honestly didn't bother us that much. Partly bc we're not big foodies, but more importantly, bc the staff is so incredibly friendly and helpful. Everyone goes out if the way to make sure you get everything you want and then some. I hope they can fix the food issues and this place would be 5 star

The location was in the center and public transpo was conveniently accessible. The bed was comfy, room size was acceptable, good running water. Housekeeping staffs were prompt. The staffs in the bkfast restaurant were not friendly, lacking in greeting the guests. The pool was small.

Cleanliness: 9/10 The room was clean, nice, and tidy. The pillows, bedsheets, and blankets smelled freshly laundered, and the floor and furniture were spotless. Cleanliness is highly maintained not just inside the room, but also in the hallways and other public areas. They do housekeeping every day, change the towels regularly, and always make sure your hygiene kit is fully stocked. The only issue I had was on my first day—the room wasn’t prepared according to my request, possibly due to an oversight. I had to be transferred to another room, and while it didn’t smell very pleasant at first, it was still clean overall. Location: 10/10 If you're looking for a peaceful place with a great view but still not too far from the city center, this is perfect! It’s not far from the airport and is surrounded by restaurants, drugstores are near, small stores for cheap things to buy, nearby malls, and groceries—but then the area isn’t crowded. It strikes a great balance between convenience and tranquility. Btw, if you are just travelling for leisure (DIY),renting a motor to go around is much cheaper than getting a tricycle Service: 10/10 I stayed here for 3 nights and 4 days, traveling alone. The staff made me feel really comfortable and were always ready to help with anything I needed—from check-in to check-out. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. Filipino hospitality was truly evident here (Im a Filipino). Special shoutout to the restaurant staff who served breakfast and other meals—they were always smiling, friendly, and attentive. Amenities: 10/10 Everything was in excellent condition and worked perfectly. I especially appreciated the free airport shuttle—it was very helpful and convenient. Since I was also attending to some paperwork during my stay, I was happy to be able to relax and enjoy the amenities in between. Definitely worth the price. I’ll surely come back!

Cool hostel. While I was in the Philippines, I stayed here twice. The staff helps with everything, including excursions. Everything is very modern and stylish. Clean. Lots of relaxation areas on the territory - hammocks, soft sofas, small sofas, armchairs. The location is next to a large shopping center with a supermarket.

The experience over all was amazing. We truly enjoyed our time in this hotel. The staff were very accommodating (they did need to switch us rooms though cause the first one had an AC with a bad smell) but without hassle they changed us and everything was fine. I think if the ac doesn’t run for a while they can do that. The pool was absolutely great, we spent most days in the pool at least once. I did wish it had a bit of shaded area over the pool itself but the water temperature was just right and so relaxing. The breakfast had a lot of choices and was very delicious. We had some lunches and dinners there too which were all great as well. There is a very cool 360 roof bar with a happy hour, though it was disappointing that the front desk info said it included cocktails and beer for happy hour but we were told beer only for happy hour prices when we went up there.  The location and the views are just stunning from wherever you look and it’s truly peaceful. It is a bit far away so you would want a motorbike or car rental, which we did have so it wasn’t a problem for us. It was one of the most relaxing stays we had in the Philippines and we would definitely go back! :)

The best thing about this hotel is its beachfront location, offering spectacular views and a charming atmosphere. Although there are a few minor maintenance issues, the hotel is a gem—beautiful and cozy. The price is quite reasonable, and the staff's attention is excellent. I would definitely stay here again. The sunsets and the experience of watching the tide come in and out are unforgettable. I give it a 10 out of 10.

GGuest UserStayed for 4D3N in a 4 Bed Mixed Dormitory for S$32.92 (After Voucher Discount). Pros: - Room: Clean and decent. Plenty of space to open the bags and pack as need be. - - Laundry: There is a free washing machine & spin dryer (Rudimentary, hence it will take awhile / don't expect your clothes to dry 100%) - Breakfast: Breakfast is included and decent - Location: Close to the Main Street but far enough away that the Hostel is relatively quiet - Front Desk Tours / Bookings: Front Desk can answer all your questions and help with any tour bookings. You just need to book with them the night before Cons: - Noisy: The rooms have a ”mesh window” hence if people are noisy in the corridor, you will hear them in the room - Airflow: Airconditioning is decent but not very strong hence will have to turn on both the aircon and the fan. Once you close your curtains, you won't feel it - Humidity / Laundry Area: Given the humidity, the items don't actually dry properly in the laundry area. Suggest to bring your own clothes line / hangers and hang them in the room as it will dry much faster - Hot Water / Showers: There is a shared bathroom (Which was much cleaner and hotter water) than the ladies' only bathrooms (Which had no hot water when I tried) Would recommend if you're looking for a quiet place to stay

LLunate sigmaHonest Review Pros: - The lady who was in charge (We think she's the manager) is really nice and helpful. - Distance: THIS WAS THE ULTIMATE DEAL. Hotel is near the beach and most of the local restaurants so we didn't experience any problem. (I recommend the cafe and 'Terminal' near the beach 😊) - AC and the room was perfect. It was really hot outside and the temp plus the room felt really homey and comfy - The hotel was really pretty or what we call aesthetic. My baby really liked the designs - Free breakfast and coffee was a good deal, but don't expect too much. - How much we got the reservation for 3d2n. Great offer from this app :) - Staff are nice especially the ones in the restaurant. Wasn't able to ask her name but she was a waiter there and also served our food (afternoon) and the guy who was at the front desk when we checked out Cons: - Service fee. I do understand that this is necessary to support the staff, but if you are on a tight budget it might be better to eat outside (sorry...) - Food was too expensive for the quality and the quantity... I recommend the chicken inasal since it had a big portion. - Room service and cleanliness - Manager said we could ask for a room service and we could just call them of we need one. We called them on our second day and we waited until our stay ended but no onr came to clean 😅 The girl who answered the phone was kinda masungit or maybe it was the tone of her voice. She told me that they are quiet busy at the moment and told me to just wait - I do understand if they're short staffed or something? But the dirt was kinda bothering us already so we just tried to clean the room on our own - Cockroaches and ants. So in connection to my previous review... Yes, there are cockroaches in the room especially the bathroom. It doesn't help that they don't clean the rooms daily. - Breakfast is not a room service. You have to go down to the restaurant and eat it there. - Room view. Our room was in the corner of the hotel. Our view was okay because we are can view the pool... And our neighbors ac unit lmao. On the plus side since the units were emitting hot air, it was easier for us to dry our towels 😂 It was really different from the picture. - Pool was kinda dirty - Overpriced goods. They have a mini store in the hotel but it would be better to pack up snacks or drinks before coming here. - OUTSIDE FOOD ARE NOT ALLOWED. Better be careful when bringing meals in the hotel. Even after listing this, we would still love to come back and stay here. I do hope they give us a better room next time 😅

GGuest UserThe hotel is located right on the beach in the letter P, along the highway, which is also the central road of the city. On the sides there are rooms, at the end of the “legs” there are rooms with an exit and views of the sea, we were visited in one of these rooms (No. 10). Immediately upon check-in, we saw a sign with tour options, in the city they offer four types, we chose tours A and B from the hotel, you can get to Puerto Princesa (700 pesos per person). There is no water in the room, but in the restaurant there is a cooler where everyone runs to fill up bottles, at the reception they sell water for 100 pesos for 1.5 liters, near the market water is sold for 70 for 2 liters (at 7-11 in Manila the same amount costs 46 pesos). The room has soap, shampoo in bags, toothbrushes, toothpaste, they are provided once upon arrival, but it will last for three days, and I already carry my own shampoo and conditioner. The plumbing was a bit old, the sink was broken in one place, but overall it didn’t bother us. Instead of a blanket there was a sheet, and at night I froze a little, then I started sleeping in a T-shirt. I should note that on the last day I discovered bites on myself - I still don’t know whether there were bugs in the pillow (but then I would have been bitten all three days), or whether I was bitten by plankton in the shallow water where I was sitting in water until night. Breakfast from 7 to 10, rice, scrambled eggs, tomatoes, two types of meat, cucumber water, pancakes, bananas, coffee, tea. Not very varied, but the hot food was different every day, we ate our fill, everything was filling. The first morning we left on time and all the food was already standing, the second time we left on time again, but waited another 15 minutes for food, while the staff was giggling in the main building. The beach is shallow, 4 sun loungers and two hammocks. There are people on the beach either in the morning or in the late afternoon, there is no rush. The water was shallow and reached the buoys and up to the knee. At night the tide is low and if you look out of the room, and we are looking at the water five meters away, there is no water. Overall we liked the hotel and would be happy to come again. On the right and left there are hotels costing 20 thousand per night and I don’t understand why they overpay so much.

MMago_TravelerOur family had a fantastic time at Astoria Palawan! The staff were well-groomed and very accommodating. The food was delicious, the pool and waterpark were clean and fun, and our room was stylish and cozy. The resort is packed with amenities, making it perfect for both kids and adults. WWinnieIt was fine for an overnight stay. Breakfast was reasonable here with tea/coffee, pastries. The front desk was not the friendliest of people & I was charged 800php for a lost key card , which I thought was pretty steep. Location was quite good as we wanted to be close to Tao Expeditions. The driver that picked us up from hotel did not help us with luggage at all, we dragged it through bumpy /rocky roads from airport to carpark and then to the hotel. Didn’t offer or lift a finger to help. But it had a great view from the breakfast roof top.

GGuest UserThe resort is in a great location with a small but quiet beach and a nice house reef outside. Beware that some units require walking up a lot of steps and the ones set away from the beach have a lot of mosquitoes around. The staff are super friendly and nice although the service of the hotel could be more attentive i.e when lying on the beach you don’t get asked if you want drinks. Room cleaning was only done once in our 7 day stay and only because we asked for it. Towels are not automatically offered to beach goers all the time. The restaurant is pretty slow with almost an hour for food to arrive sometimes. The food itself can be nice depending on what you order. Some is pretty good actually…others a bit average. Pricewise, this isn’t a cheap hotel and I feel that if you compare the price to resorts in other tropical beach locations around the world, you get much better service in other places like Sheratons, Marriotts and Hiltons etc. that said, overall I would still recommend Matinloc for the great beach and reef.
