My partner and I thorougly enjoyed our stay at Biwako Hotel. All rooms face the beautiful Lake Biwako and the view was perfect. We even caught a snowfall on one of our mornings here. The staff was great and always friendly even when there was a slight language barrier. We tried their breakfast as well which was really good. Highly recommend renting their electric bikes and cycling around the lake during sunset. And also going for the Lake Biwako Cruise! The hotel onsen is wonderful as well, we will definitely be back

Pros - Astonishing view - I had both dinner and breakfast in the hotel and both are delicious - Staffs are dedicated to serve - so despite the language the overall experience is still very enjoyable Cons - It surprised me how little English the staff can speak, especially in the restaurant (I don't normally complain about this in Japan but this is a Marriott...) - The shuttle bus service is a bit off... Last bus from station to hotel is before 19:00 and the information is so hard to find

It's in front of the station, so there are many restaurants to enjoy. Amenities are plentiful. The shampoo is of good quality. Breakfast is delicious and the staff are very friendly. The only disappointment is the location of the toilet in the room. It's see-through by the window, so it's a pain to have to close the door and curtains to use the toilet. I really like the challenge of making a small room fun.

This is my second time at Biwako Ryokusuitei. My husband and I first stayed there in 2022 and we were so impressed with the service that we brought our family there again in 2024. We really enjoyed the convenience of bathing in the onsen in our room and the dinner and breakfast was as superb as we remembered it. Special mention goes to the kind driver who sent us to Sakamoto Cable Car when we checked out. He went out of his way to bring us to the train station to check whether there were any empty lockers available for our hand luggages and tried his best to communicate with us in English to recommend places to go and restaurants to try. His kindness and joviality stayed with us until we returned to Singapore and is something that we still talk about today. Thank you to everyone at the Ryokan for making it a memorable trip for my family and I!

What we love: The onsen, the nightly free happy hour, and the amazing breakfast Location is pretty good. Nice lakeside views, near the old town, and quiet. If you drive, there is ample parking but it does get quite full when we were there mid Dec 2024, this means more locals visit than tourists. We used it as a base for visiting nearby ski resorts such as GranSnow and Biwako (roughly 60-90mins drive). It's about a 10-15min drive to the city centre where you can find an abundance of food and shopping! The room is quite spacious, has a great view of Lake Biwa, and generally comfortable and cosy. The breakfast is fantastic, quite a spread although I wished they changed some of the items more frequently. The onsen is big, and we enjoyed it every single night. The best was the homemade barley drink they served-simply Oishi! Not to mention a nightly nightcap of free booze, soft drinks and snacks available at the lobby from 7pm till 10/11pm. Nice way to wind down. This hotel has a old-style, somewhat luxe, chillout, laid-back vibe, where you can really hang out if you like, at your own pace. Highly recommended.

A great place to stay near the station with friendly helpful staff and a somewhat pretty nice breakfast, considering it is complimentary. This hotel is close to Hikone Castle and the JR station. The hotel also offers a lot of parking space for free, which being close to the station is amazing! The room was clean and tidy with a typical Japanese style small bath. The only thing that upset us, was the lack of Onigiri which had been in the photos when booking. But. Again, the breakfast is complimentary and seasonal as said in the hotel, so no big issue! Would stay again!

Very convenient There are supermarkets, convenience stores, and some restaurants nearby, but there are no large shopping malls nearby, and the location is relatively remote. It takes about 40 minutes to get to Kyoto, and the price is cheap👍👍

Health is very good, very clean Environment: The surrounding environment is very good, not very noisy. Very close to the subway station and convenient transportation. Service: Service attitude is very good. Facilities: The facilities are average, the hotel looks like it has been for many years, but the price is very high.

The hotel is well-known in the Xiongqin Hot Spring area. There was only the last one left when booking. It was not disappointing. The environment is typical Japanese style, comfortable and beautiful. The hot springs are very, very comfortable. It is really great for people who walk 20,000 steps a day. ❤️ There is a shuttle bus to the hotel. You can contact it by phone at Xiongqin Hot Spring Station. It only took about 10 minutes to wait. Thank you👍🏻 The dinner for one stay and two meals is super delicious. It is definitely worth recommending👍🏻👍🏻

It was a great stay at this ryokan! The hotel is able to arrange a car to fetch you from the JR station. You can call them using a dedicated phone at the station which is used to contact the different ryokans. The car arrived in 10mins or so. The ride to the ryokan was also less than 10mins. The hotel also fetched us to the station on the last day of our stay. The ryokan itself is homely and cozy. We were greeted by an english speaking staff who introduced us to the amenities of the ryokan. There was also a nice welcome tea and matcha chocolate. Our bags were brought to our room as well during this time. The room is spacious and cozy. The hotel prepared 2 welcome biscuits in the room which was a nice personal touch. The room has a nice living room and a great view of Lake Biwa. Recommend to catch the sunrise over the lake! There are 2 normal beds as well as futon beds (need to set up yourself). Both are comfortable. The hotel also prepared pretty yukata for both female and male guests which you can wear during the stay. There are 4 different designs for ladies, and one design for the guys. You can request for different size if the one in the room doesn’t fit you. There is also a full length mirror and a mini dressing area at the side of the living room. It was fun dressing up in the yukata! The toilet, basin, shower and hot tub areas are all separate. The toilet is a little small, but the basin and mirror area is very spacious. The shower area is quite small as well and the shower head is rather low so you need to hold the shower head if you wish to wash up while standing. There is a small stool given for you to sit down though. The hot tub area is semi-outdoor and you can see Lake Biwa. But it is quite small (only good for one person). It was too cold so we didn’t use the hot tub. Instead, we booked the private onsen for 50mins. The private onsen has a private toilet and dressing area which is equipped with hairdryer, body lotion etc. There is a water dispenser as well if you need to hydrate yourself. The onsen area has a washing area, and the hot tub area is spacious for 2 person. There are privacy screens around the onsen area but there is a small gap to let in cold air for ventilation. Wish there is a good view from the private onsen but it was still enjoyable! Dinner and breakfast was Kaiseki style, and the meals were one of the highlights for my husband and I. We really enjoyed the courses which are clean tasting yet wholesome, fresh and flavourful. It was such a sumptuous treat! The ryokan also has a souvenir shop if you wish to buy anything back. Overall, my husband and I really enjoyed the stay here and we agreed this was one of the main highlights of our 12 days trip in Japan. Highly recommend!

Despite the language barrier, you can still feel the enthusiasm of the service staff. There is no bathroom in the room booked this time, a large bath is enough. The free large bath has an outdoor part but no view.

This hotel was booked on short notice. Since I was out by car, parking was free, which was nice. The room was spacious, renovated and very clean. Good cost performance! It's near the station.

It was located nearby on foot from the station. However, there are no restaurants around, so you have to go to the other side of the station. There was one convenience store nearby. The room was compact, but it was enough to spread the suitcase. It was a little disappointing that breakfast ended at 9 o'clock.

Choose here for business trips, the hotel is very clean, the room flyers are changed every day. The single room size is not very large, but it is enough for early departure and late return every day. Great!

Very clean and tidy, complete bathroom facilities, first-class service attitude, quiet surroundings, a 10-minute walk from the subway station, shopping and eating around the subway station is very convenient and affordable. Will choose to stay next time, some reservations in advance price concessions.

The hotel is a ten-minute drive from Kentian Station. There is no pick-up and drop-off service. There are fewer buses to 500 meters near the hotel. It is recommended to rent to go, plus the toll of the Wuhu Bridge is about RMB 100. There are no commercial and scenic spots around. You can go to Fuyutang and Sagawa Art Museum at noon. The check-in staff are warm and thoughtful, and the service is very good in every link. The hotel rooms are all facing the lake, with a first-line lake view, floor-to-ceiling windows with a wide view, all with terraces, and you can see the sunset and sunrise of Wuhu. The facilities are a bit simpler, there is no regular safe and air purifier, these two should be a must for the hotel. The hotel's environmentally friendly style room bathroom has no spare parts and the front desk can provide it. The bathroom does not have dry and wet separation. What is worse is that the space is large but you need to stand in the bathtub to take a bath. For me, I have to wash it first and then take a bath. It is uncomfortable to wait for the water to be released. There is no overall bathroom. The air conditioner is quiet, the bedding is average, the curtains are full of light, the night is transparent, the necessary blindfold, the design is a bit rough in the details of the Hoshino world, but all this can be compensated by the lake view. I occasionally stay at love hotels. I think it's natural for two people to take a bath together. The bathtub was a single-person tub (my first experience). It was disappointing that it was too big for two people. The hair dryer was so worn out that the plating around the switch had peeled off. That's fine, but it wouldn't turn on and I couldn't use it. My wife's hair ended up being half-dried when we left the hotel. I didn't want to have to call the front desk to have it replaced. There was a step of about 10cm when going to the bath, toilet, and washroom. I wish it was barrier-free. The price when I applied for and made the reservation on this site, the amount charged by the credit card company, and the price list in the room (for weekdays up to Thursday) were all different, which I found strange. The difference in price was small, so I didn't mind. Overall, I understood that the room was worth the price and left satisfied. (Room only) Thank you.

The hotel is relatively new, about 100 meters from the station. The breakfast provided is in the bakery on the first floor. The taste is OK, but the fixed amount is two different breads and a glass of orange juice, which is enough. It is not richer than Japanese cuisine.

The scenery is very good! It's on the edge of the lake. The hotel lobby is very spacious and coffee is free! The massage chair is free! The size of the room is also large, which is the standard of a triple room. There is also a double sofa. Very cost-effective!
