I had a great stay at Dorsett Melbourne! I have stayed at Dorsett Hotels on holidays in Hong Kong before and I thought I would try one of their new offerings in Australia. And it did not disappoint, the rooms were well appointed and comfortable. The pool was gorgeous and you could look down on it from the gym. I understand the importance of sustainability, however I did wish there was bottled water available.

I have no specific request to rooms but I just want an early check-in. I think it was Natalie checking me in and she was super nice. She managed to offer me a room and it was close enough to the lifts! Everything was so good. The breakfast was a bit disappointing. However it’s included so still acceptable, 6/10. Well done to the front desk staffs and housekeeping staff, and whoever cleaned my room, I wanna give credit to them because they even adjust the map on my table to match the direction of the entry door. Location is super duper brilliant. 1-2 mins walk from Southern Cross Station and seconds to Bourke Street tram. I could easily get access to trams and the Skybus! Would definitely recommend to stay!

Great hostel! Air conditioning in rooms and communal areas 24/7. Each bed has its big locker (bring your lockpad). The toilets/bathrooms are cleaned twice a day. The kitchen is huge and well equipped, allowing many guests to cook simultaneously and to store their food on shelves or in fridges.It is also cleaned by the staff. Big thank to the house keeping staff!

Got to the hotel early and our room was not available. Sat in the check in area for an hour because we were too tired frombour red eye flight. And the kind staff offered us a free upgrade so we can check into our room earlier. We managed to catch some sleep before heading out. Hotel was clean and location was excellent. The room was spacious, but the arrangement was a bit weird as you can see from the location of the sink. Water pressure was low and a full body mirror would be nice. Overall, good hotel and thank you to the staff who let us check in early.

Our Triple room is big and clean. The only setback is that the walls are poorly soundproof. Anyway after a day trip, you are dead tire and who care. The hotel location is super. Chinatown is within line-of-sight. Tons and tones of shopping outlets and eateries surround all 4 corners of the hotel. The nearest free city tram is just round the corner, so you are always convenience to go everywhere. Highly recommended.

Surprisingly it was good, I’m not expecting anything coz it’s a budget hotel, but still it was beyond my expectations. I was putting requests with double bed and ended up getting a twin bed which is fine coz I’m alone by myself and actually I don’t mind either double bed or twin bed. The receptionist told me they don’t have double bed room and change it to twin bed. I said to them I’m totally fine with that and they gave me late check out as a compliment and I’m super happy coz I really need the late check out😬

I am travelling alone. Given I am watching a couple of night sessions at Australian Open I need somewhere which is within walking distance from the Melbourne Park. Overall you get what you paid for. One bed in a dorm of 8 ppl costs just under HKD $300 is a good price. The atmosphere in the hostel is good and those youth are enjoying themselves just like my boarding school days, just that now I am approaching half century. The shared washroom, bathroom and kitchen are good. The bed is with limited space with a cupboard where you can lock with your own lock which I am glad I took one. There was a bit of smell in the cabin I stayed and hence I believe that is why all four fans as well as the windows are always on. Staff is helpful and well mannered. I would say it is very reasonable given the price.

I recently stayed at Ibis Styles Kingsgate in Melbourne for a few nights, and my experience was a mix of positives and disappointments. The hotel is in a great location in the CBD, just a short walk from Southern Cross Station, which made getting there from the airport easy via SkyBus. Trams are also nearby, so getting around the city was no hassle. The single room I booked was compact but functional. The decor was simple, and the bed was comfortable enough for a budget stay. However, I had some issues with the cleanliness and condition of the furnishings. The room felt a little outdated, and the bed linen had visible wear and tear. Housekeeping was not up to standard, and I even encountered damaged bedding with exposed stuffing, which was quite off-putting. While the staff were friendly when approached, the overall maintenance of the hotel definitely needs improvement. One of the nicer aspects of the hotel was the common areas. The lounge had a cozy atmosphere, with bookshelves and warm lighting that gave off a heritage-style charm, which was a contrast to the actual room experience. The facilities were basic, but for a budget stay, they were acceptable. The price was reasonable for a centrally located hotel, but considering the issues with cleanliness and room upkeep, I expected better. It’s an okay option if you’re after an affordable place to stay in the city, but be prepared for some compromises. If they improved their maintenance and housekeeping, it would be a much better value-for-money choice.

Only complaint was the poor sound proof. l can hear noices from neighbouring room clearly. This is a let down that the hotel gotta look into it.

I stayed at Ibis styles Melbourne airport because I had an early flight. I arrived fairly late into the evening and was checked in by a friendly gentleman who gave me an upgrade from a queen to a king room. The room was clean and spacious, with ample facilities.

Great location for Southern Cross Marven Stadium. The staff were friendly and very helpful. TIP find other parking, the cheaper option from them is a bit of a hassle to get too. There is a carpark across the road so look that one up first. It may cost a bit more but much more convenient to the hotel. Food was good

We stayed there for quite a couple of days overall review is good as the location is convenient. Employees there are pretty responsive and friendly in general Left a bad taste at the ending unfortunately as they contacted us a few hours after our checkout to ask if we stole their speaker when it wasn’t even there in the first place?? Luckily we took a video of the room during our day 1 there as evidence. All sorted now and while they apologised I just hope that the management can be a bit more careful in this and also perhaps train ur housekeeping in inventory management better?

The hotel is three stars plus, but due to the Australian Open, the room rate is very expensive, more expensive than the five-star hotel I stayed in Sydney, and it does not include breakfast, so I think it is not worth it. Let me first say the good things, the beautiful waitress at the front desk is very nice, and the room is cleaned on time every day. The location of the hotel is also good. There are a lot of bad things. The room is not big, and the bathroom is even smaller. I don’t know if the bath towel should be thrown on the ground after taking a shower, anyway, there is no basket or anything to put it. I stayed for eight nights and basically didn’t change the sheets because there was a stain on the sheets that had always been there. I didn’t point it out, and I thought that the one I slept on might be cleaner than the one I changed. I don’t trust this hotel very much. The bed was also made in a mess, and the mattress was off to where it went, and it was not made straight, so I pulled it myself every day. The cups were not cleaned, and there were tea stains. With such an expensive room rate, even free bottled water was not provided, and I bought water to drink every day.

This is my first time staying at Crown Towers Hotel though not my first time coming to Melbourne. The location of Crown Towers Hotel is excellent, easily accessed to attractions, restaurants, museums & aquarium. The room has beautiful Yarra river scenes, both day and night are marvellous.

I’d recommend The W Hotel to anyone that likes their hotels & rooms to be a perfect mix of style & elegance! I was attracted to book The W by seeing the pics but mainly their pool & after checking in, I can say with confidence that everything from the room to the hotel to the pool was just super stylish! Even the room had its own kind of cool vibe going! Location is also super convenient right in the heart of the city and 2 mins away from a 7-11 incase you needed something after hours!

My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stayed in Oakwood Premier Hotel. The receptionist guy on Friday Morning, 10th Jan, was super nice, friendly and kind. He changed our room facing the city view. We went straight to the hotel after we arrive in Melbourne to put our luggage in their luggage storage because the check in start at 3pm. However, our room were already ready, so we managed to get some sleep and rest. The bed is so comfortable and we got a amazing view! So I really enjoyed our stay there for the whole time! What a great first travel experience in Melbourne! Surely, we will be back!

I'm quiet disappointed at my last stay here as robes and slippers are no longer provided. You have to call housekeeping to bring it to you. As a crown hotel I feel like this place has downgraded.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would stay there again. The room was clean and had everything I needed. I liked the look of the interior and corridors as well. The pool was nice and clean. The location is good, not far from a few different tram stops. It’s also convenient to walk around the whole central area.

The room was a really good size. The balcony was at a level where there was no building blocking either the view or afternoon sun - we had to pay extra for this though. The fridge didnt really seem to work, at least the freezer didnt. When putting icecreams in the freezer, they melted, so I turned the dial to cooler and then the fruit in the fridge froze our fruit. We really shouldnt need to adjust settings in the fridge/freezer for them to work. Also the toilet keep running after it flushed. The only way to stop the running of water was to push down on the flush a few times quickly.

The furniture and kitchen equipment are very complete, which is very suitable for small families to buy ingredients and cook back! The room was very clean, in addition to the sound of the heater is a bit loud, next time you have the opportunity to book the same hotel again

We arrived after 7 pm the room was not available. We had to wait more than half an hour after travelling by plain we wanted to rest. The room had one empty bottle. The breakfast is not good. Not many healthy options, no cheese and plain yogurt.

Perfect location so close to the arts and entertainment district. We stayed during the Australian Open and travelling to and from the stadium was a breeze. The room was very clean and serviced beautifully. Would appreciate a comfy place to sit or additional cushions for the bed as that is the only option to relax on. Service from front desk staff was not the most friendly or helpful. It seems they’d rather you use self check in but to me that’s not hospitality. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to others as a good budget friendly alternative to the 5 star hotels in the area.

Great hotel with friendly and helpful staff. We had an issue with Wi-Fi initially but they moved us into a different room straight away and it worked perfectly.

Was a lovely stay which felt like home! Everything was clean and efficient. Arrived early by noon and was granted check in with a warm welcome of chocolates and a personal note! Enjoyed a high floor on level 18 and late check out till 1pm as Elite Silver member. Would love to return here again next visit as there are tram stops, 3 supermarkets and South Melbourne Market all within walking distance. Love the friendly service from front desk to restaurant to housekeeping staff! Everything feels so new and fresh in the hotel, well maintained and being new. Easy to call an Uber as well just a short ride to city.

Great location - walk from airport terminal, and all rental car companies are literally just downstairs, perfect choice for a late night flight and start a road trip to Great Ocean Road the next morning. Not much food options around the airport though.

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Melbourne while en route to Albury. The stay was average overall—comfortable enough for a short visit, but nothing particularly stood out. The location was convenient for my travel plans, and the room provided the essentials for a night’s rest. While it served its purpose as a stopover, there’s room for improvement in terms of ambiance and amenities to make the experience more memorable. It’s a decent option for a quick stay if you’re just passing through.

We arrived Melbourne at about 23:00 and will be leaving for a 08:30 flight the next morning. The good thing is the hotel is very close to the airport but it's a bit hard to find the entrance. Hotel room is clean and the front-desk staff is very helpful.

It is what it is, a budget class hotel close to an international airport. Staff were very helpful. Room was clean, bed very comfy with super clean sheets etc. A little cramped, but I was on my own. The reception area was good. No lifts, so one has to cart your suitcases up the stairs.
