My husband and I booked the King Deluxe, and upon inspecting the room, I can see that the furniture was not cleaned, it was old and dusty and had stains on it. The carpet looked like it hadn't been clean in years. The room had a bad smell to it, the bathroom area was pretty decent. I've stayed at Ameristar a few times, and I can honestly say, this was one of the worse experiences I had staying there. Ameristar PLEASE DO BETTER!

Really an under-rated hotel. Good front desk experience, good food in the restaurant and drinks in the bar. I’d stay again in a heartbeat. ******s and I-70 are right there. I was hoping to use more of the hotel (pool, gym) but I found myself trying to find new tires for my car at 6pm after my tire found a screw.
The advantage is that it is close to the airport and convenient for shuttle. Other aspects feel general, which may be related to the overall service level in this area.
RRhoda CNice location, walking distance to Fogo de Chao where we celebrated our anniversary. The room is okay and parking is ample. The receptionist is kinda snub though.
RReedPAn absolutely great location that is right across the street from the new St. Louis city soccer stadium, it's two blocks walking distance from the city market Union station area. It's easily accessible just off of I64.
The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean and fairly well stocked. And the one downside would be the in room refrigerator. It was very tiny and had no freezer section, which depending on the visitor they may or may not need. I am coming from far enough away and with children that I needed to refreeze freezer packs for snacks.
The breakfast each morning was okay. It was scrambled eggs or scrambled eggs with cheese plus sausage. One morning it was a choice of turkey, sausage patties or pork sausage patties, while the next day was a choice of pork sausage links or chicken sausage links. Links. Plus they had the standard bread, English muffin, bagels, muffin, fruit. The downside would be the lack of waffle maker. I don't know why that makes a difference, because I don't really eat waffles. But my kid loves waffles and loves to make them. And instead of having a waffle maker, they had a hot plate filled with pre-made bagged frozen waffles that they had preheated for everybody. Oh yeah in my pics you'll see a pic of my kid's milk. IT wasn't expired, but the ad on it was and it gave me quite a scare when I saw it.
And depending on plans, and what I need to be close to, if need be I will definitely stay here again with my family. The area was safe, clean, and I forgot the funniest part... Directly across the street from the FBI. LOL 😂🚓🚔
PParker’s7585Hotel was great and clean and beautiful. I was to early for my room and I was exhausted from traveling and they managed to get me in my room very fast.. thank you front desk.. housekeeping did a lovely job on 518. Not one thing was wrong and I am picky. On the other hand, I do smoke and I went outside to sit in my vehicle and smoke late in the night and was harassed and attacked verbally by a gentleman claiming to be a police officer. Very hateful and rude and disrespectful. I was parked inside the gated lot. And was approached with rude questions and insulting tones like me and my husband were criminals. And because I stood up for myself and refused to back down and answer private questions about where I was staying and what room,to someone off duty with no badge, he was trying to get me kicked out if my room in the middle of the night. The police officer on duty help resolve the situation and I went to my room. But it was a very bad moment all because we couldn’t sleep and was having a conversation in our vehicle inside the gated parking for the crown plaza.. shame on the man for being rude and thanks to the officer that handled things well. Maybe should get that guy outta that line of work. But I would stay again hands down cause the hotel was great.. and staff was amazing.. thank you crown plaza
Ggmartin212This is a very good location for downtown K.C. The hotel lobby very nice. We ate dinner at the restaurant in the hotel and the food and service were very good. The only complaint here was that the attached bar was very loud and the restaurant ambiance could be redesigned to be more comfortable and intimate. There was a group of about eight people at a large table near us that were having load discussion that was distracting for us but dealt with it.
The room was small but the renovation was very nice, bathroom was big with a nice tub/shower that my wife enjoyed a epsom salt soak. My only complaints are that there is no fridge or microwave to heat coffee. Also, they use the old style coffee two cup coffee maker as most hotels have now gone to keurigs. The hallway noise is very noticeable and the room-to-room noise is as well. We could literally hear the conversation in the next room. One thing that I really dislike is the lack of a ”do not disturb” card for the door and as expected, the housekeeper was knocking on the door at 9:00 a.m. to clean the room even though checkout is at noon! I'm sure there are much better and newer hotels but if you are looking for a reasonable place to stay in the heart of downtown K.C. this is a good choice.
GGuest UserDouble charge you on your credit card and don’t release your funds right away. Poor customer service. No Refrigerator or microwave in the room. No social distancing in the hotel. Only thing they did have was good food.
GGuest UserLocation in proximity to city attractions is amazing 5/5. Location in terms of safety is 2/5. There isn’t a covered secured lot for your car and I was approached by many people asking me for money while taking a walk around the building. Service is hit or miss. When I arrived, and attempted to open my car door, I was accosted by the valet who yelled at me and asked me what I was TRYING to do. I told him I was checking in to the hotel. And he was aggressively unpleasant, seemingly angry that I had arrived. Conversely, the valet attendant the next day was polite and wonderful. The front desk was nice but did not review any of the amenities nor offer any information about the hotel, which is a shame. Nice but inattentive and uninterested. The service at both Idol Wolf and Good Press were 5/5. The food at both were 5/5. The hotel itself is gorgeous. There’s art set in an old gym. The renovation is well done. Enjoyed it very much. The view from the room was also very nice. The room itself was standard with a few attention to detail things needing addressed. Such as broken handles and non working bathroom fixtures. Overall would recommend this hotel because it is unique. Big plus - they allow pets!!! Yes!
LLori KayMy trip was OK until I got ready to check out. My vehicle has been sitting in front of the hotel lobby in everybody’s way for six hours. I left my keys with the valet service to go park my vehicle. No one knew where my car keys were at my vehicle had been moved over to the side. The staff was just avoiding me in the situation saying they would call me back and then they wouldn’t. It was time to check out I didn’t want to have to pay for another night I was supposed to be at work I missed work. Finally the front desk called me they had found my keys they did not tell me where. They took the parking charge off of my bill and that was it. I really thought they should wave they charge for my entire stay I missed a days work almost lost my job and went through countless hours of stress because that’s the only set of keys I had. I’m not so sure someone didn’t take my jeep somewhere all night and bring it back early in the morning. I don’t see how I could’ve sat in that spot all night long in everyone’s way without someone getting a hold of me. There is a half a tank a gas gone and I’m not sure about the mileage. I think I deserve a refund for my stay personally
GGuest UserWe have been to a lot of casino hotels in various states, this rates as an average basic hotel. It needs updated in a lot of ways. Still has corded phone in hotel bathroom as if the late 1990’s. I’m sure it was an awesome place over twenty years ago, but it has not changed with the times. It was clean but basic in all the ways possible. The restaurants at the casino were good just the hotel itself needs upgrades.
MMacDouggalCan’t say it’s run down per se, but dated. Great check-in guy, and a huge room, but that’s it. The place is dark and dank. I’m attaching photos which will be more descriptive.
The worst was noise in the room starting at about 1 AM lasting over two hours. The first hour and a half we experienced basically sonic booms in the room. The whole room shook, particularly the ceiling, making it impossible to sleep, in fact, waking us up. This noise repeated Every 15 to 60 seconds for the next hour and a half. Crazy loud BOOM. We were on the top floor so someone jumping above us was not an option. Maybe the noise was coming from a room next-door where someone was body slamming. The last 45 minutes we spent listening to a kid cry in the room next-door from about 2:45 to 3:30 AM.
