I recently stayed at Royale Signature Hotel in Alor Setar for one night and overall had a comfortable experience.
✅ Highlights:
The room was spacious and came with a bath tub, which was a pleasant surprise – quite rare for hotels in this category. The hotel’s location is excellent, just a short walk from Aman Central, the largest and most modern mall in Alor Setar, offering plenty of options for shopping, food, and entertainment.
🧼 Cleanliness:
Cleanliness was up to standard in both the room and common areas.
Noise Level:
One of the things I really appreciated was how quiet the room was – a peaceful environment for rest.
🛎️ Service:
Service was average – staff were polite, but the experience could be improved with more warmth or attentiveness.
🏢 Facilities:
Facilities are basic but sufficient. It meets expectations for a city hotel, but don’t expect anything beyond the essentials.

Overall, it’s a solid option for a short stay in Alor Setar, especially if you value space and convenience.
We stayed at Rebak Island Resort for 4 days 3 nights, one of the best experience we had. I will list the pros n cons -
Pros:
1. They hv free scheduled ferry so u can go to cenang from rebak or vice versa. Make sure to plan ahead
2. So many activities on the island itself- kayak, atv, cycling, pool, beaches, nature walk, yoga, etc (some need to pay)
3. Friendly staff
4. Free buggy service in the resort
5. Serene and peaceful resort
6. Love the BBQ on saturday night (rm90/head)
7. Breakfast was good
Cons :
1. Rebak island is located at southern side of langkawi while most tourist attraction is at the north near tanjung rhu or near town area. Bit far to travel and need to make sure the ferry schedule match since u need to take ferry out from rebak to cenang first
2. Would suggest to go here and just do activities around rebak. We spent only 1 day to visit the mangrove and shop at Billion. The rest we only stay at rebak and join the ATV n kayak there.
3. If you want to go out of rebak, the nearest is Cenang. They hv paragliding there and fire dance at night.
4. While i think kayak and ATV are worth it (rm90/head), other activities by the hotel (cruise, jetski, mangrove, snorkling) are overpriced. You can get it cheaper booking from the locals / klook
5. Very disapointed with their ala carte dinner menu. We ordered thai green curry, tom yam goong, calamari and apple crumble. Tbh it tasted like the ones sell on the street. Not authentic at all and tasted not good. The moment i saw brocolli in my tom yam goong i knew its bad
6. We took the sea view 1 bedroom, quite far from the lobby but still walkable. You can call for buggy if you are lazy to walk
Overall i love it. The best memories we had is the kayak. We were greeted by otters! Apparently their house is just near the island so high chance for you to see otters there!

Overall I had a very nice stay here, their staffs were very helpful and attentive. The resort is a bit secluded but understandable since they have private beach. Remember to arrange ur transportation like renting a car earlier. The Grab price from resorts to other locations are very expensive. And I don’t suggest renting motorcycles coz at night the road that lead to the resort is very dark and eerie I must say haha. The beach was clean, our room was so big and we can turn the tv to our bedside haha! Lotsss of electric plugs. Movies options was a lot. Facilities are also a lot. Bath tub has bath salt okayy yall! The swimming pool near their cafe is a bit scary though coz it’s really deep like head level deep with no life guard on duty. The price of their foods & drinks were definitely on the higher price side. But we didn’t mind coz there was a night market on Friday just 9mins from the resort. The downside is the rooms that are not ocean view don’t have an elevator so it can be tiring to go up and down. They have quite a lot of breakfast options, but the taste are only so so. But i did enjoy my stay here! 🩷

A very pleasant hotel. It is located in a picturesque bay where there are no waves at all. Spacious rooms, very nice infinity pool. The hotel has a large, very well maintained territory. There is no private beach, but there is a free shuttle several times a day to the nearest beaches. The only hotel in its style on the island of Langkawi. The staff is very pleasant and courteous. The pool, bars and two restaurants are open until late at night.👍
Everything was perfect. Plenty of restaurants , very helpful staff very good breakfast This was my 3rd time to Berjaya Hotel and Resort before it was 4 star hotel now they have upgraded to the 5* Hotel & Resort. I like the rainforest chalets are very relaxable in a jungle itself. I request them if they can put extra handle shower or a small tap because sometimes you need to wash only feet, its not good to use the ceiling shower and get wet all body.,

It's supposed to be a five star hotel... I would say 4 max. From afar the public areas like the pools and bungalows and gardens are stunning and premium. However the room itself needs a bit of upgrade like the shower system for example (old, rusty and not that clean, the water tap is built incorrectly which made the water leak on the counter then on the floor). The staff however is very professional and friendly.
I booked this hotel through Trip.com for a short transit stay and was genuinely impressed by the overall experience. The location is incredibly convenient — just a few minutes from the airport — which made my travel seamless and stress-free. Despite being right next to the airport, the room was surprisingly quiet thanks to effective soundproofing. I had a peaceful and undisturbed night’s rest.
The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, with all the essential amenities provided. The bed was cozy, the bathroom was spotless, and everything was in great condition. What really stood out was the hospitality — the staff were friendly, polite, and always ready to help. Their warm and professional service made me feel truly welcome.
The breakfast served was also a highlight of the stay. It featured a great mix of local and international options, all fresh and flavorful. A perfect way to start the day before catching a flight.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone needing a reliable and restful stay near the airport. Thanks to Trip.com for making the booking process smooth and hassle-free. I would definitely choose this place again for future trips.
The location of the hotel is convenient — not too far from Cenang Beach and other popular tourist spots. Overall, the cleanliness of the rooms and surrounding areas was well maintained.
Service-wise, okay. Most of the reception staff were friendly and helpful, but one male staff was quite impolite and seemed to be in a bad mood when I requested buggy service to my room around 11 + p.m.
Facilities were limited. Several villas appeared old, abandoned, or not in use, which gave certain areas of the property a neglected feel. I would suggest a refurbishment to better align the resort with the expectations of a 4 star property.
One of the biggest disappointments was the breakfast. At RM50 per person, I expected a wider selection and better quality. Unfortunately, the spread was quite basic and did not reflect the premium pricing of a 4 star setting.
In summary, Ombak Villa is great for its clean environment and spacious grounds, but needs improvement in service consistency, facilities maintenance and food quality to justify its current rating and pricing. If I were to return to Langkawi, I would think twice about staying here again.
Overall the hotel is good. Room, bathroom and beds are very good. The check out time should be 3 pm. I don't like the check out time and they ask you extra money if you delay in your room check out.

Unfair and Poorly Managed Breakfast Seating Experience
I had a very unpleasant experience during breakfast at this hotel. I arrived at the restaurant at 7:30 AM, but there were no staff members present to guide or seat guests. The lack of basic organization created confusion for everyone.
I saw an available table with no sign or indication that it was reserved, so I assumed it was open. After I got my food and was about to sit down, a female staff member suddenly rushed over to stop me and told me the seat was reserved. This was both embarrassing and frustrating, especially since there was no sign placed on the table to indicate any reservation.
To make things worse, about 10 minutes later, another guest arrived and was allowed to sit at that same “reserved” table — even though they were not the original reserved guests. This clearly showed that the table was not truly reserved, but rather that the hotel was trying to push early guests like us to sit at less convenient tables further from the buffet.
This practice completely goes against the principles of a buffet and the idea of first-come, first-served. It felt unfair that early-arriving guests were treated poorly while later arrivals were given better seating.
We spoke with the supervisor, and they admitted that it was indeed a mistake on their part. However, the damage was already done, and the experience left us feeling disrespected and unwelcome.
This hotel seriously needs to improve how it manages breakfast seating and treat all guests — regardless of arrival time or group size — with fairness and courtesy.

KKasim MohdHad a really nice stay at Camar Resort Langkawi with my wife and kids. The place is super peaceful, away from all the city noise—really great for just relaxing and enjoying the beach vibes. The surroundings are calm, and the whole resort gives off a very cozy and private feel, perfect for a family getaway. The staff here are super friendly and always ready to help, making us feel really welcome from the moment we arrived. Everything was smooth and comfortable, and we really enjoyed our time here. If you’re looking for a quiet and chill place to unwind in Langkawi, this resort is definitely worth a visit!
UUpadhyayMy friends and family stayed in this hotel. Hotel roof top fool have great view and they have roof top Resturant also. Room was large compare to other hotels in Langkawi. I will stay again in this hotel.
MMuraleedharan RI had an amazing experience staying at this beachside resort during my vacation — definitely one of the best I’ve ever been to! The location is stunning, right by the beach and perfect for a relaxing holiday. The accommodation was super comfortable and all the facilities were top-notch.
The staff were really friendly and always ready to help with a smile. What I loved the most was how kid-friendly the place was. The hotel organized several fun activities just for children and my kids had a blast participating in them — they were entertained and happy throughout the stay!
The buffet breakfast was another highlight — so many tasty options and everything was fresh and delicious. It was a great way to start each day.
A special mention to Mrs. Mary, the tour manager who was incredibly supportive. She helped coordinate all our activities in Langkawi smoothly and made our trip even more enjoyable.
Overall, I would highly recommend this resort to anyone planning a trip to Langkawi — it’s perfect for families, couples or even solo travelers looking for a fun and relaxing getaway!
WWandering.EngineerLovely hotel. The rooms are spacious with a huge bed - a size that I’ve never seen before! The shower strength is amazing, with a filtered tap for filtered water.
The staff are amazing and helpful. I’ve read some comments that said the breakfast didn’t have enough variety. I would disagree. The breakfast is plentiful with lots of different options. Their afternoon tea is worth the price too.
The location is perfect. A few mins walk to cenang beach right where all the entertainment is. The underwater world is around the corner with plentiful shops and restaurants to eat from.

JJocelyn_KohI had a really pleasant stay at Bayou. The hotel is in a great location, not far from Pantai Cenang and Tengah beaches. The pool area was definitely a highlight, facing a wide open field; it gave a nice sense of space and calm.
The staff were very polite and helpful throughout our stay. I appreciated the thoughtful extras like complimentary drink vouchers, snacks, and a welcoming bar with popcorn.
The room was modern, spacious and clean. The bed was a little on the hard side, HAHAHA! But the bathroom was spotless and well-stocked with all the essentials.
Soundproofing could be improved, but overall, I was happy with the comfort, service and setting.
Wi-Fi was free and stable and there was plenty of parking, which was great for our rented car.
I didn’t get the chance to try their breakfast, so I couldn’t compare it to another 4-star resort I stayed — maybe next time! Overall, a great experience and I’d definitely come back again.
ZZoe_wwWe booked Premium Ocean Twin Suite, comes with 2 bedrooms (king sized beds). It’s spacious and very comfy place to stay. We love it. It is not directly accessible to the beach but we rented a car so it’s very near with a car ride. Service is excellent. It is actually at the apartment building section since it is a premium suite. We have a small feedback i.e the shower room floor is easily flooded after a shower and took a while for the water to drain out. We have feedback this to the receptionist. The rest was alll good ! We will come back again
