When you get off the bus heading to Tsuruoka from the airport at Science Park, Suiden Terrace is right in front of you.
The room is simply designed but has everything you need and is very comfortable.
There is also a bar and a library space, which is nice. We didn't have time to relax this time, but if you have the time, I recommend spending some time there.
The open-air baths are switched between men and women in the morning and evening, so you can enjoy them both in the morning and at night.
There was a wide selection of Yamagata specialties for breakfast, which was great to enjoy in the morning.
The hotel is in a good location. You can go to any attraction by walk. There is a dedicated parking lot near the hotel. The waiter was very attentive in explaining to us how to drive to and use the parking lot. The hotel lobby is beautifully designed. The breakfast is of good quality, rich and delicious.
Room was really as per picture. The view was great with the striped windows. Quite spacious, able to accomodate up to 2 suitcases opened.
Location is also great as it's directly connected to the JR Yamagata station & S-PAL beside. You will be able to walk to the south tower through the internal passage way. Overall would recommend - really worth the price point, was comfortable and had everything we need for our stay.
Rooms are a bit old-fashioned but in good condition. Spacious. Indoor and outdoor onsen available with limited facilities.
Location is excellent, less than 10mins walk from the Tsuruoka station and is connected to a shopping mall and a big bus station.
Not much restaurants around. Breakfast provided from hotel restaurant but dinner requires prior booking. A supermarket and convenience store are within 5-10mins walk.
After reading the introduction of this hot spring hotel, Zaimu Sakaeya Hotel was once a hotel in a logging camp and a timber wholesaler with a history of more than 100 years.
The entire hot spring hotel uses a large amount of logs for decoration and construction, which is very unique. The single room I stayed in was very new and very clean.
Breakfast is a set meal, and miso soup, tea, drinks, etc. are also provided. At this price, it's a great value.
Since there is no shuttle bus, it takes about 15 minutes to walk from Kaminoyama Onsen Station to Zaiki Sakaeya.
It’s quite a big hotel, 3 buildings are connected and there are many rooms. The rooms are a bit outdated but still maintained well. Service was good and flexible. Transportation to the village is quite necessary when the roads are covered by snow, especially with luggage. They have free shuttle bus which is great.
Best parts: 1. Dinner semi-buffet has unlimited alcoholic beverages including local sake, draft beer and wines. 2. Ski & board rental shop is right outside of the hotel. Although hotel only accept cash for the lift ticket, you can rent the gear (rental shop accepts credit card) and ski down the hill (20sec) to the cable ticket counter to buy ticket, pay by credit card. The location has lifts 5,6 and cable 4
This is a lobby lounge where you won't want to leave the hotel after checking in. From afternoon to night, it offers a variety of beers, coffees and drinks; bartending at the bar and roasting marshmallows outdoors at night; and a whole large space. There is a rest area and library, where you can enjoy reading a book and listening to your favorite vinyl records...
Finally, the hotel provides a free open-air bath for the first 30 minutes. One is a wooden barrel and the other is Zao Rock, which is highly recommended👍👍👍
The hotel has unparalleled sunset views, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the meals are delicious!
The service staff are very kind and make you feel like you are at home. I would like to stay again if I have the chance.
Stay and enjoy the silence our inn offers, where only two people can stay together in each room, and original Kaiseki cuisine is served, which is made from super premium Yonezawa beef.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is generally good.
However, there is one thing that annoys me a bit. I chose the meal-included package and saw on other platforms that the meal offered was beef kaiseki. But I still chose to book through the Ctrip platform. The day I arrived, I asked the reception what dinner was and I was told it was pork shabu-shabu. I asked if I could change to beef kaiseki for an additional fee and the front desk told me it was not possible. When I entered the restaurant during the meal, I saw that everyone except our table was eating beef kaiseki.
So, is this discrimination or a platform problem?
NNetotrevinoThis is a very nice hotel. Loved every corner of it. A bit old. But the service and location makes it a nice place to stay. Near shinjo station by bus 20 minutes. It’s a good place to stay if you are going to ginzan onsen. They have shuttle bus to shinjo station from the hotel. They have izakaya inside of the hotel. Staff is great and helpful. We totally recommend it to stay. Awesome views

おお腹ぽっこりIt was very simple.
We were asked to bring only what we needed: a gown, razor, and toothbrush.
As other people have written, there was something like a stain on the futon, but the sheets seemed clean so it didn't bother me.
I booked a twin room, but for some reason I felt like I got a triple room. The room was spacious and nice.
Other people have mentioned that the heating was cold, and although it is certainly difficult to fine-tune, it wasn't cold and I was able to sleep comfortably.
It's very close to the station and the location is easy to find, so I think it's the best value for money.
The lock was old, but it had a certain charm to it.
Thank you very much.
AAnonymous UserThe seaview is great and the service is good, we also enjoy the buffet dinner and breakfast, although facilities are not as new as other similar type of hotels in the vicinity.
