Wonderful beachfront stay with amazing facilities and one of the best breakfast spreads! We recently stayed at Club Hotel Dolphin on a half board basis over the weekend, and overall it was a really enjoyable and relaxing stay. From the moment we arrived, the experience started well with valet parking, a refreshing welcome drink, and cold towels at check-in. Although it took a little time for the team to locate our reservation, the staff handled it professionally and even offered us a complimentary upgrade from a Superior Double Room with Sea View to a Garden Villa. While we appreciated the thoughtful gesture, we personally preferred the sea view and requested the originally booked room instead. The staff kindly arranged a high-floor room with a beautiful view, which we truly loved. The resort itself is very spacious, with a huge garden area and two large swimming pools. We visited the gym first, which was well maintained, and then spent most of the evening relaxing by the main pool. Even though the hotel was quite crowded during the weekend, the pool was massive enough that it never felt uncomfortable or too packed. The room was clean, tidy, and comfortable, with all the standard amenities required for a pleasant stay. While luxury amenities like dental kits or shaving kits were not readily available in the room, I believe the staff would have provided them upon request. The highlight of the room was definitely the stunning view overlooking the pool, garden, and sea — absolutely beautiful, especially during sunset hours. Dinner buffet was a good experience overall with a very large spread. The live stations and hopper station were particularly impressive. There were many options including fish, chicken, beef, pork, mutton, prawns, and cuttlefish, along with Sri Lankan specialties, seafood live cooking, samosa stations, and plenty more. The bakery section also had a good variety of breads and buns. The only area that didn’t fully impress me was the salad and appetizer section, as most options were vegetarian and there were only a couple of non-vegetarian choices. The dessert section also had a decent variety, but due to the large crowd, it seemed the kitchen team was slightly struggling to keep up with demand later in the evening, and some desserts were replaced with alternatives around 9 pm. Still, there were plenty of sweet options available. We had a very comfortable sleep, and the next morning’s breakfast buffet was truly outstanding — honestly one of the best parts of the stay. The spread was huge with local and international dishes, bakery items, live stations, crab, chicken, fish, egg dishes, South Indian options, gluten-free items, eggless options, multiple types of porridges, cheese selections, salads, cold cuts, hoppers, and much more. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. Before check-out, we once again enjoyed the pool during the sunny morning, which was a perfect way to end the stay. Overall, Club Hotel Dolphin offers a fun and relaxing beachside atmosphere with excellent facilities, spacious grounds, and fantastic breakfast options. Despite a few minor areas for improvement, we truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it for a relaxing weekend getaway in Sri Lanka. 🌴✨

Superb hotel very good service

Good location, just next to the beach, very quiet, a few kilometers away from the town, need to take a car, about 20 yuan back and forth. There are small bugs in the hotel pool, and the restaurant tastes average. There was no hot water check-in, no hot water in the middle of the night, and the service staff could not be found before and after the hotel. . . I saw people the next morning! But the waiter's attitude is very good, the hotel is relatively clean, the boss is good.

We'd like to share our impressions of our stay at this hotel. We spent 8 nights here with friends. The hotel is truly spacious, with well-maintained green grounds and a convenient location (across the road from the beach, surrounded by a river). We liked the all-inclusive meal plan: there was always a good selection of both Sri Lankan and European cuisine. The rooms are spacious, with a balcony and a bathroom. In our opinion, they could use some cosmetic updating. Unfortunately, two issues seriously marred our stay. 1. The situation with animals on the premises. There are cats and dogs on the hotel grounds. We were very sad to see that, in our opinion, some staff members' treatment of them is not humane. We personally witnessed them being chased away, and in some cases, doused with hot water and physically assaulted. This was very upsetting. 2. Insect control. During our stay, during the day, when many guests (including families with children) were around the pool and dining area, hotel staff began chemically treating the area. A thick, pungent odor spread, covering the pool, lounge, and dining areas. The fact that this treatment was carried out without warning and in the presence of people (especially children in the pool) was extremely surprising and concerning. My husband has asthma, and he had to urgently use his inhaler. As someone with an agricultural background, I understand the necessity of such treatments, but we believe that conducting them during peak guest activity hours is unsafe. We contacted the management to request information about the medication used for our doctor, but we were never provided with this information. Overall, the hotel infrastructure leaves a pleasant impression, but the reported incidents regarding animal welfare and guest safety significantly impacted our overall experience.

The property is quite new, clean and very comfortable. The host is very friendly and arranged his driver to pick me from the airport at a nominal cost. He even helped me with my train ticket booking online and dropped at the train station as well. My experience in Gautam Homestay was quite nice. I would rate their service as a 5 star service.

We had an amazing honeymoon at this resort. The food was exceptional and the staff were also quiet efficient. I'll recommend Wattura Resort and Spa to traveller who would like to enjoy their stay in Sri Lanka.

New facilities, excellent location, great service attitude from staff

A good hotel on the seaside. There was a problem with lack of hot water, but in such a heat it is tolerable. Staff is kind . Breakfasts are uniform but quite edible. Overall not a bad hotel for a few days of relaxation on the ocean shore.
