Guest UserThe hotel itself was fine, aside from the lack of bottled water, luggage racks, and absolutely no toiletries – everything else was normal. However, their parking lot is a huge problem. Firstly, guests aren't told in advance that parking requires a reservation. Secondly, I'm not sure if their drop-off point is only for disabled people or what, but there's a 'no entry' sign at what looks like a drop-off entrance. Thirdly, even if you don't have a reservation and the car park is fully booked, the gate will still open. But if you don't pay 60 pounds, the car park attendant will make it difficult for you to leave, even if the hotel reception has already entered your license plate to give you 1 or 4 hours free and told you to move your car to an open-air car park about a 15-minute walk away. In the end, several guests were in the same situation, blocking the car park exit. The first guest had to go back to the hotel to grab a receptionist and bring them to the car park entrance to negotiate with the car park staff for half an hour before they finally opened the gate and let people leave.

Although there was a small problem with the system when checking in, the receptionist handled it extremely professionally, which made me appreciate it very much. The room is extremely clean, comfortable and has an extremely impressive view. The gym, swimming pool, food...all make everything more perfect. I will definitely introduce more friends and come back next time.

Guest UserThere is a direct bus to hotel from airport and a bus stop at 10 mins away from hotel back to airport.
The walls have no stains which is nice and the bathroom is clean and tidy but the bed linen has quite a lot of stains. Some dust also appeared on the pillow and it is actually hard to spot them because of the dim lighting. The water pump is also working fine. The staff are super friendly when I forgot to bring a plug and realised that there is no USB charge spot.

C SpeirsThis was in the perfect location, staff were great and room facilities were fab!. I didn’t realise the hall light had a sensor and no off switch, so when I had the bedroom door open and turned over in bed, the light would come back on 😂 easily fixed by closing the door. It didn’t affect our stay and we would definitely be back…it’s a busy place, it’s in the city centre so to be expected. Yes there was a charge for parking but not overbearing. Only negative was that the curtains didn’t fit the full windows so light shining in made it difficult to sleep, bed was so comfy though 😴

charleston1The hotel was amazing! The service was fab, all the staff were so lovely and really helpful. The room was great and had everything you could need, and I loved the fact that all the toiletries are plant based! The location was also amazing, just round the corner from the nightlife if you wanted it (but completely silent from inside your room). It's very central so really easy access to anything you could want really.
Would definitely stay there again and already recommended it to some friends.

KristinMGreat new hotel located right across the street from the new Terminal 2 of MAN airport in Manchester. On Google Maps it shows you needing to walk a long way around to get to this place, but actually its' very easy - like 2-minutes only! After you get your luggage, cross over the two small pick up areas. Before you go into the parking garage, turn right. Follow the signs (you'll see one for Holiday Inn and another for the Ibis.) Cross over two more small streets and the Ibis is literally just there, behind the Holiday Inn. I was able to use a trolly to take my suitcases easily to the hotel but because the trolly wouldn't fit in the room, I had to leave it in the hallway and unfortunately someone else took it. Would be great if MAN made the trollies FREE, and left some near these two hotels for paying airport customers to use. (I mean we do pay enough airplane fees and taxes!) Especially when traveling international with so many suitcases... Doesn't seem fair to have to pay for a trolly two days in a row just to move luggage back and forth. Not the hotels fault though, however something they should consider putting forward to the airport management. The hotel itself was NEW, clean, nice, great customer service attitude for checking in and out. I saw a free water station, paid coffee bar, some snacks and a vending machine. There was a football game going on the main TV in the cafe area and it was quite busy. I think I would definitely stay here again. It was such a quick in and out overnight stay... so I didn't need any breakfast or luxuries, just somewhere quiet and safe to sleep for half a night before hopping on our next flight. I would say that as long as they keep this place up, it's amazing value and a great option! Oh, and the room had central Air Conditioning / Heating... which is unheard of for a budget hotel in the UK, so that won me over right away! :) WOW - Awesome!

Nora.mjI booked the windowless room because it was the cheapest option. This hotel truly has no views, so I figured a windowless room was actually better. However, if you're sensitive to ventilation issues, I recommend booking a room with a window.
There's no air conditioning or refrigerator (which seems to be standard for mid-range hotels in the UK). No breakfast either. I noticed the name was similar to the Britannia Manchester Hotel nearby and wondered if they were the same company; it seems they are, as the amenities are identical and the furniture and lighting are similar. However, the bathroom here is a bit more modern, and it has a shower hose.
Wi-Fi is free, I'm not sure why Trip.com states it's paid. You just need to log in with your email. I came to drop off my luggage before check-in, and since it was a weekday morning, they kindly gave me an early check-in for free, which I really appreciated.
If you don't need air conditioning, this is the most recommended budget-friendly hotel in Manchester near Piccadilly Gardens.

LuotuoThe hotel building boasts a grand and impressive Victorian exterior. Apparently, it opened in 1857, making it nearly 170 years old. Its location is superb, with a bus stop just over 100 meters away. As my friend put it, ”It's right in the absolute city center.” However, once inside the single room, the interior decor and amenities could only be described as simple. For instance, there's an approximately 28-inch Samsung TV mounted diagonally on the wall above a small desk, and the bathroom's rinse cup is inverted on the flat surface in front of the mirror, without even a tray or coaster underneath. The hotel restaurant is in the basement.

I had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at the Pendulum Hotel. The staff were unfailingly polite and helpful, and my room was very clean, comfortable, and quiet. The location is excellent for getting around Manchester, and the neighbourhood where the hotel is has a calm, welcoming atmosphere. I’d happily stay again and would certainly recommend it to others.

Posted onDec 4, 2025|Net Zero Standard Room
Anonymous UserDuring my recent stay at this hotel, I found the overall experience to be enjoyable with top-quality fittings and furnishings. However, there were areas that required improvement. The hotel itself is pleasant, but enhancing the service and room cleaning would significantly improve the guest experience.
A standard room was paid for but a disability-accessible room was provided. We requested to change it to a standard which was done immediately without any questions. No water bottles were provided in the room initially; they were only given on request and only two small bottles were provided. Additionally, the room cleaning service was unsatisfactory. Despite requesting it twice over 4 nights, the cleaner only changed the sheets once and neglected to take out the bins vacuum, replace towels or clean the bathroom. This was particularly disappointing given the length of my nearly week-long stay.
The breakfast was beautifully presented with various options but unfortunately remained the same every day lacking any variation. Some areas were particularly poor. For instance, the scrambled eggs had a distinct smell and were overly watery. Adding tomatoes or simply varying the options every few days would have improved the experience.
One concern we had was the cleaning team. Twice the cleaner used his universal card to enter our room without ensuring no one was present. My partner was in the shower and our young baby was asleep. We heard a knock but were unable to reach the door in time. Upon reaching it we realised he was already entering. This occurred twice and on the following day we decided to chain the door for privacy reasons.
In other hotels we have stayed in, privacy is of the utmost concern for staff and they would never even risk opening someone’s locked door without making sure. A better system needs to be in place here.
