The trip advisor photo is of a vibrant yellow small boutique hotel. The reality is a pebble dashed 70 room hotel which has seen better days. Myself and partner decided to eat out both of our two nights stay and were overjoyed that we did! Prestatyn has excellent options if you like Chinese/Malaysian or Indian Judging by breakfast we made the right choice.Coffee was terrible, scrambled egg was dry and bouncy. One rasher of bacon on a full breakfast. My partner wanted a full but as a celiac she was told there were no gluten free sausages, so she asked for smoked salmon and scrambled egg, but she wanted mushrooms and bacon added to it, she was told if it was a different chef she would say yes!So a firm no! 😏I'm a chef and understand smoked salmon is an expensive product, but we weren't even given the option to pay a little extra for what we want. What has happened to upselling, and making the customer happy, we weren't looking for a freebie! We decided to go into Prestatyn for breakfast after check out instead of enduring that again. We both had excellent smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, and a decent coffee! For the price, i really thought it would be better, shame. The hotel has a really interesting history, it was the place to be, now it mirrors the sad sight opposite, Abandoned Pontins, which looks like a prison. If they invest it's a gold mine, and Prestatyn is so nice. .

Stayed here for one night for a wedding. Beautiful location but hard to get to if you don’t drive (taxis available but fairly expensive). Staff were very friendly and polite. I had an issue with my room and they came straight away to take a look. I had to change rooms in the end and they were very helpful and gave me a free Prosecco for the trouble (though it was no trouble at all!). Breakfast was good and the bed was comfy. Wish I had more time to spend in the area as it was so beautiful!

Clean facility with a pub and a kitchen for guests to prepare or store their own food. They advertised breakfast as well as dinner but I didn’t see either. No front desk so I was directed to call ahead but I never got an answer or confirmation that I would be met to get my room. The bartender in the pub below apparently is the person who gets you access as this is what happened to me. One shared bathroom for all rooms, I believe, though this wasn’t an issue.

I didn’t know how to turn on the air conditioner in the room, so I ordered a set meal that included breakfast and dinner. The burgers for dinner were delicious, and the steak for an extra 2.5 was even better. There are many peacocks, which can be fed and are not afraid of people. After staying for three days, I met a couple having their wedding there on the first day.

The hotel is in the heart of Llangollen. Easy reach to shops, cafes, pubs, railway station and of course the river Dee. The hotel has a large car park for patrons. We were greeted at reception by a pleasant man and given our keys. He explained the times of breakfast and evening dinner. Our room was basic but clean, we had a front view of the hotel. The breakfast was lovely, great choice to meet the needs of everyone. We ventured to the rear of the hotel and sat out on beautiful tables with parasols overv looking the Dee and served with our drinks. There seems to be a staff shortage as staff were all mulit-tasking but were in good spirit. Will definitely return to this hotel.
