The hotel is one stop away from Ghent's central station. Some trains pass through Ghent and then reach this station in one stop. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the station.
You can take a bus, ride a bicycle or walk to the old town of Ghent (each has a different experience). There is a bus terminal and a Carrefour near the hotel (but the quality of fresh food in this Carrefour is not very good, I recommend Albert Heijn in the city center)
The hotel has a parking lot, and the lobby is shared with Ibis style (the price is similar, the rooms here are larger and have a small kitchen). The small kitchen is equipped with an electric stove, microwave, kitchen utensils and tableware)
You can take a train from Ghent to Bruges, Antwerp and Brussels (the one-way train journey is less than 1 hour). At night, you can also enjoy the beautiful night view of the ancient city of Ghent. It is highly recommended.
Very good four-star hotel, the service is very good, there is free parking at the door, it is very important for us to drive by car, it is very convenient to transfer at the highway intersection, there is a very rich breakfast, there is a mini refrigerator, we stayed for two days very satisfied, will stay again next time
A fantastic hotel with an excellent location right by the canal. The hotel has two entrances: one accessible by vehicle on a back street, and another directly opening onto the canal. Tour boats stop almost right outside the hotel, making it incredibly convenient to pop back to rest our feet after exploring. The front desk staff were very friendly. The canal view was absolutely worth it; opening the window revealed a postcard-perfect scene. You could happily spend a whole day just enjoying the room. There's a supermarket nearby where you can buy fruit and water, and complimentary water was also provided in the fridge. The spacious bathroom was well-equipped with an iron, hairdryer, slippers, and a shower cap. Marriott's quality standards are definitely upheld here. Highly recommended!
The location is slightly off, in Ghent, but it is convenient to go up and down the highway. It takes half an hour to go to Brussels, Ulster, and Antwerp. The hotel room is bigger and the bed is big, breakfast is OK, cost-effective
The room is too small. I can touch the door when I turn around. The breakfast is good. The price is reasonable. The transportation around the hotel is convenient.
Perfect location near tram stations and lively streets. Lovely and helpful hotel staff, amazing rooms and good ammenities. It's a perfect hotel for small trips look nowhere else! Also rooms have great view of the cathedrals :)
Fabulous. The stay was unbeatable. Not only because of the great location, right in the city center next to the town hall, but also because of the attentiveness of the staff. They responded to any request with a speed I haven't found in any other hotel.
The room, at least ours, had a stunning view, was tastefully decorated, spacious, and very well insulated from noise.
The common areas were spacious, pleasant, and beautiful.
Beautiful hotel with perfect view of a cathedral from our twin room. Hotel is in a historic building with lovely architectural features by the canal and the room we were in was a cleverly designed ”duplex” with the bathroom and sinks on the upper floor (ie loft) which made full use of the almost double volume ceiling in the smallish twin room we were in. The only drawback was that the steps were narrow and steep and would pose a problem if one had mobility issues. The toilet was located by the door next to the entrance but there was no sink for handwashing. Alcohol gel in a pump bottle was provided.
There is a café, lifestyle / clothes shop and supermarket in the same building. Very convenient and the hotel's location was walkable to all the sights in Ghent central.
The front desk staff were very polite and gracious and allowed us to store our luggage when we arrived before 11am, since check-in was strictly at 4pm. We were happy to find that our suitcases had been already delivered to our room when we returned to the hotel at 4pm.
There are 2 bars in the hotel - one which is open to the public which was buzzing in the evenings and a guest-only ”Honesty Bar” (1st photo) in which hotel guests could purportedly help themselves to liquor and pen down what they had imbibed - but I never saw anyone in it ! This could be due to a lack of ice or mixers. Or glasses. 🍸

GGezin met tienersFriendly welcome, clean rooms, sleeping comfort of mattress bed okay, sofa bed okay but 1 disadvantage with 2 people lying together then you literally roll waist to side. Another plus is that the curtains close well, so the room remains dark early in the morning.

GGuest UserThe room was clean and tidy. We upgraded to a sea view room with a beautiful industrial style. It was so beautiful to listen to old records and look at the sea view. When checking in, they kindly handed us drinks and fruits. The front desk also had Fuji apples every day. Although they were not in the room, we were welcome to pick up two when we passed by. The downside was that the room was very small, the window could not be opened, and there were layers of doors in the corridor. I didn't know what to do when the fire alarm went off. It was a bit stuffy and we didn't turn on the heater. Overall, it was good. It was a few minutes away from central by boat, which was very convenient. Recommended!

GGiles LawrenceThe room was fine. We needed extra bedding and 2 nice staff came immediately and made the extra bed for us. However! We arrived with a reservation confirmation of 2 adults 1 child. Their confirmation had 2 people therefore the room they had was too small. They did have another room for 3 they said we could have but it would be 30 euros extra. At the time we simply agreed and paid as there was a big queue behind us and the amount was small. Buttons seemed like a con to extract more money from us, it wasn't our mistake as we had confirmation for 3 people at the designated price. It's a shame as I really liked Ghent and will certainly return but there are other hotels to choose from.
欧欧洲一个人的旅行The location of this store is very good, just near the scenic spot. The staff service attitude was excellent. I arrived very late that day and it was 12 o'clock in the middle of the night, but the staff still welcomed me warmly. It is a mixed man and woman, but it is very quiet, everyone is very quality and order. It should be noted that everyone should check in as early as possible. When you arrive in the middle of the night, you may not be able to check in, but you can still stay. In addition, for my first time staying in the Youth Hostel, there is a small reminder that this house needs to bring the Bed sheet down and put it in the hall when you check out.
GGuest UserSint Niklaas was going thru a process of major road and town works. Confusing one-way systems at play gave me a flat tyre reversing back around the right way and hitting a bunch of stones popping out the ground near the kerb.
I think it would be nice to return once the town face-lift is complete... 🤔
Ibis, I thought you'd be better than that. €20 deposit for a kettle and no milk, coffee, tea, or sugar in your room on arrival.. 😒
The ladies working there were lovely enough to give my gf & I a smile 🥰 they know where to park and at what times to pay the machines at the car parks 🤓
Cheap and fairly cheerful but also stressful to load and unload. 🤕
WWendy Miu FungConvenient location and quiet room. The food selection of breakfast is not much but the other restaurant for lunch and dinner is quite good.
OOcampoThe location is not in the city center but it can be accessed via bus from the Ghent St Pieters Train Station. Cleanliness is guaranteed and the service is superb. I would definitely book again if I ever stay at Ghent.
