A Beautiful and Peaceful Stay at Alkantmooi Private Nature Reserve, Keursee
We recently stayed at Alkantmooi Private Nature Reserve, Keursee in Plettenberg Bay and had a lovely experience overall. When I booked, I didn’t realize that it was a fully self-catering property. On the booking site, it looked more like a nature resort with restaurants on-site, so it came as a surprise when we arrived and learned that we needed to bring or buy our own food. We ended up driving about 8 km into town to pick up some groceries, which turned into a fun little outing in the end. Still, it might be helpful for management to make this setup clearer on the booking sire for guests, especially those from abroad who might not be familiar with South African Travel habits.
We arrived around 5:30 p.m. and were warmly welcomed by the owner, who gave us the keys and explained everything. The unit itself was amazing, very clean, modern, and well maintained, with a stunning view over the sea and Plettenberg Bay in the distance. At night, the lights from town were beautiful, and the whole area was peaceful and quiet. The environment felt safe, and we really enjoyed the fresh air and the sense of being surrounded by nature.
One small note: when we arrived, the lady at reception asked my partner (who is Chinese) in Afrikaans if she spoke English or Afrikaans. It wasn’t a big issue, but it might be something to be mindful of when welcoming international guests, as not everyone understands Afrikaans and its not easy to decipher specially for those who do not speak English as a first language
A few other suggestions for management: upon entering the unit, there’s a printed rule sheet. While I completely understand and respect the need for house rules, the way they’re written felt a little strict and unwelcoming. For example, it mentioned sanitizing hands every time you enter and reporting neighbors if they break rules, and more. The tone could perhaps be softened to feel friendlier and more guest-oriented.
The only other drawback was the Wi-Fi, which was extremely slow during our stay. I wasn’t able to use it for basic browsing and had to rely on my phone’s international data via hotspot when I was using my laptop.
Despite these small issues, I would still recommend Alkantmooi to others, especially those who enjoy self-catering and want a quiet, upmarket place surrounded by nature. It’s a wonderful place to unwind, cook your own meals, and enjoy the incredible views over Plettenberg Bay.

Great place. Amazing amenities. Wonderful location right opposite Canal Walk. Could do with an AC. Should have a reception at 9 palms, not having to go to the Crystal Towers to collect keys. Wifi password should be given to guests at check in

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Point Break Luxury Apartments, and once again, it exceeded all my expectations. This was my fourth visit, and it’s clear why I keep coming back.
From the moment I arrived, the staff were exceptionally welcoming and warm. Their hospitality truly makes you feel at home. The property itself is impeccably clean, ensuring a comfortable and pleasant stay.
One of the highlights is the convenient location. Being so close to the V&A Waterfront, just a short Uber drive away, makes exploring Cape Town a breeze. Whether you're in town for business or leisure, this location is ideal.
The views from the apartments are nothing short of sensational. Waking up to the sight of Table Mountain is an experience that never gets old and adds a unique charm to the stay.
My thanks to the staff and management for yet another phenomenal stay – I look forward to my next visit!

RobsThe apartment is spacious, clean and luxurious. Lovvvvvve the bathrooms. I had a very relaxing stay at the Residences at Crystal Hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was refreshing and had a wide selection of foods. The location is convenient, close to Canal Walk which we walked to often to buy whatever we needed to make our stay more enjoyable and visiting Hillsong Church opposite the road was an amazing experience.

HAVN Apartstay Hotel provided a comfortable and practical base during our Cape Town stay. The location was highly convenient, allowing easy access to major attractions such as Table Mountain and the Waterfront. The apartment-style layout suited our family well, offering sufficient space for luggage, children, and downtime. The room was larger than expected and exceeded our initial expectations in comfort. While there was a slight lingering smoke smell upon arrival, airing out the room improved the environment. Staff were helpful and accommodating, especially when allowing us to store luggage prior to check-in. The overall experience balanced independence with hotel-style convenience. It was especially helpful during a busy sightseeing phase of the trip. HAVN offered a reliable, well-located option for families seeking flexibility and space in Cape Town.

We stayed for three weeks in March 2026 and absolutely loved everything. The staff were incredibly friendly and responsive, always ready to help and accommodate our requests. Housekeeping was excellent, coming every other day. Upon arrival, we found tea, coffee (ground and in capsules), sugar, creamer, salt, pepper, cooking oil, and even dishwasher tablets – everything you could need! The kitchen was fully stocked with all the necessary utensils. There's also a decent rooftop pool with fantastic views. Overall, it was a superb stay! We hope to return and stay here again.

The unit is spacious with large balcony for relaxing across the bedroom. The staffs were nice and accomodating. However the noise outside can be heard especially at night.

While the locations and hotel cleanliness and families are good, the room doesn’t come with any AC or Heater. So it was very cold in the room on a winter rainy day.
The hotel also took R1,000 as deposit by credit card, and returned upon check out. The issue is, credit card company would charge a fee and also due to different exchange rate on different day, I lost almost R 100 when I check out. The hotel should consider waiving the deposit altogether or taking cash as deposit if deposit is required.

This is an excellent place to stay, conveniently located in the vicinity of the beautiful waterfront.
Facilities are awesome, staff friendly, good restaurant, though we got to eat dinner only once. But the free breakfast was well stocked, with the staff and chef reaching out to make your special requirements (the best omlette I have had in many years).
Room wifi was good, rooms clean, spacy and comfortable.
One critical note: The shower in the room that I stayed had a transparent partition, which may not be good for certain type of travellers - should at least be translucent.
