Facilities are good. Bed is nice. Snacks that can be purchased inside the room are just Pringles and Pilipit. Outside food is not allowed in the resort. If this is the case, they have to ensure that they can feed everyone and provide us with a lot of choices. Unfortunately, they only have 3 restaurants which cannot accommodate all the people they let inside the resort. Food is hit or miss. Due to the so many people, quality of food suffers. Aside from having fully booked rooms, there are people who also got in for day tours. The pool for the suites at the uppermost level turned GRAY last Thursday. Good thing we had another room in the executive suite so we used the other pool. Although I must say that there are notable people like the concierge who helped my mom when she got stuck outside her room and opened her room for her. There’s also the waiter named AL from Haribar who made sure my sister’s pizza got to her and asked people from Bistro if we can eat it at the executive pool because we couldn’t stay in the other pool anymore because it was so murky. He also reserved us a table for dinner and had our food ready by the time we got there. Otherwise, we wouldn’t be able to eat on time on that day. There’s also the housekeeping staff who turned the bed for us and gave “towel animals” for my son. My son loved it so much, he kept the “sticker eyes” and he put it on his cellphone as a remembrance. Generally the housekeeping made a good impression on us. They clean our rooms twice a day and they give complimentary 2 pieces of puto or revel bars or maja mais. I also cannot forget the person who made sure my son’s burger and fries gets to our room in less than an hour. Average time for food is 55 minutes to an hour or worse, it doesn’t arrive at all. Imagine we stayed there for 5 days! If we didn’t have to ask some of these staff, we wouldn’t be able to eat properly. There was even a time we paid for another table’s bill. If we didn’t order additional ice cream, we would have never found out that we paid for somebody else’s bill! They fixed it and said sorry but that was it. Imagine we were eating there for 5 consecutive days 2X a day at least but they never gave us any complimentary stuff for the mess that they made. The transport service was always full that we had to assert ourselves so that other rude people who cut in line won’t get ahead of us. The staff can’t even control the people. They need to be able to have protocols in place to handle such situations. Out of frustration we didn’t want to add to the stress on the staff so we just got umbrellas and we just walked all the way to the port and we totally skipped the van from the welcome center. Even when we were about to leave, the staff said she would just call us when it is our turn but when we looked again she left and there were other people in line already. My husband had to ask another staff to put as in line even when we already signed the boat manifest ahead of the people in line. He had to ask them again to put our luggage in line. Unfortunately, they still forgot our luggage so we had to wait for them at the port. Also, we tried calling for a buggy to help us with the luggage from our room but no one was answering so we just did it ourselves. The beach was fine too. It had a lot of fishes and starfishes. Sand is not as fine as Boracay but clean. The water sports activities had a reasonable price point. My nephew and niece had a great time with the jetski. But towels are always running out. We had to look for them all the time even in the pool area and at the beach. So what was meant to be a relaxing week for us turned out to be a bit stressful at times. But overall, it was disappointing because I expected too much since they said it is the only 5 star luxury resort in Mindanao. I booked at Discovery Samal to give it a chance but I am sorry to say that I won’t be coming back.
recently stayed at the Royal Mandaya Hotel during my visit to Davao, and it was a truly pleasant experience. The hotel has a central location, making it convenient for exploring the city’s attractions, dining spots, and shopping centers. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any requests.
The room I stayed in was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with modern amenities such as a flat-screen TV, air conditioning, and a mini-fridge. The bed was comfortable, and I appreciated the quiet atmosphere that ensured a restful night’s sleep.
The hotel offers a variety of dining options, and the breakfast buffet was a highlight, with a good selection of local and international dishes. I also enjoyed the pool area, which was a nice way to relax after a day of sightseeing.
The hotel was easy to locate and conveniently located. There’s a mall nearby which is linked via a bridge to the mall for convenience to the guests. Room was clean and well equipped and I love the effort the hotel puts in on being more environmentally friendly. They cut down on plastic by providing carafe for water and water dispensers were readily available outside the rooms too.
Service is great! Facilities is a bit worn down. Leaking faucets. Shower door doesnt open fully. Food is ok. Quality is good and prices is very reasonable.
The only hotel close to the airport so you have no choice if u have a morning flight. I was in Room1 and wifi is very weak. Shower water pressure is also very weak. Room is not sound proof so little sleep can be enjoyed with noisy traffic on main street. Bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste.
Check your room bedsheet and amenities first time when u enter the room to avoid lost of your deposit when check out .
Staff is available 247 so i dont get why trip.com insist that check in must be done before 9pm.
Massage place and joilibee are available within walking distance to hotel.

I absolutely adore this hotel! The service is nothing short of superb, with staff members who are both attentive and welcoming, making every moment feel special. The facilities are top-notch, featuring everything one could desire for a comfortable stay. One of the highlights was the rooftop bar and restaurant, where I was treated to an exquisite dining experience paired with breathtaking views. To top it all off, the complimentary drinks were a delightful surprise, elevating my overall experience even further. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking a memorable getaway in Davao!
I just want to say, thank you for a wonderful experience at sun my hotel, even thought theres a slight problem with the door on our room they immediately transfer us to another room and still clean and with complete amenities were seen. GGuest UserVery accessible and very satisfied guest. We will definitely book again soon on our next davao trip🙌🙌😘thank you so much to the very accommodating host just pm away, easy transaction♥️
GGuest UserI had an amazing stay at this place! The host was extremely accommodating and responsive, answering all my queries and questions in real-time. The place itself exceeded my expectations - it's clear that the host has put thought into providing everything you might need, unlike any other rental space I've stayed at, which often lacks basic amenities. The place was also spotlessly clean and tidy, making me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. And to top it off, the internet connection was fast and reliable, which is always a bonus when traveling. Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-equipped, and hassle-free stay. Thanks again to the host for being so wonderful.
Bbenjamin2To start off, i never stayed there because i booked through trip.com, and when i arrived, there were no roooms available. After a long wait in the lobby, the owner came and drove us to another location that they owned and gave us a room there. The room was decent, but the ac was barely adequate, and it was a downgrade from what i had booked and paid for. They said we may have to move rooms again in the morning, so i opted to just book another hotel for the remainder of the trip.
MMerlin YanThe apartment was good, close to malls restaurant as well, even transportation very close to the gate, rooms are spacious,AC is good,we enjoy our stay with my family for 5 days,we stay here again.when I get holiday in Davao City Philippines
BBai SatriaWhen mostly of your transaction is in Ecoland areas this is the best apartelle to book. Convenient, accessible, easy check in and out. The room area is spacious, i am not just comfortable with the size of the shower area, it fits only to a small frame person. Towels need to be replaced. Over all when looking for a budgt friendly hotel, i highly recommend this one.
GGuest UserLocated just near the city (perfect location), the hotel is clean and provides u great hospitality. The pool have a nice view which infront of abreeza ayala mall there is also a pool for kids and playground. Hotel was great. Overall experience was awesome. I'll recommend this hotel to every couple and families:) . You wont regret! just be there:)
GGG WandererThe whole experience is superb! The location is perfect whether you are on business, with family and friends. The photos they posted is beyond my expectations. I will come again! Thank you
FFAIThis is just a private rental apartment. The landlord only has 2 rooms, not a hotel. Where can I get the breakfast? The room is very small, only a 1.5-meter bed, an extra bed? Where did the bed come from? Ask who wants to go to bed? You can buy a bed yourself. The landlord probably doesn't mind an extra piece of furniture.
