The room was incredibly spacious and even had a microwave, which was great for heating up food purchased from the supermarket. It also boasted a large balcony with fantastic lake views. The only thing to be aware of is the steep uphill walk from town to the hotel, which could be a bit slippery in winter. Overall, it offers excellent value for money and a prime location.

Anonymous UserA love-hate relationship with this place. The 180-degree lake view flat was amazing, and the in-room facilities were comprehensive, except for one of the stove burners not lighting on max heat and not being able to find the switch for the laundry room exhaust fan. There are also quite a few things to complain about: Getting from reception to the room requires walking along an outdoor driveway and through the garage, which is an unusually unpleasant experience! Luckily the weather was good; it would have been a complete disaster if it had rained. As for the service, the front desk staff acted like robots, seemingly doing nothing but checking guests in. Indian tour buses would block the entrance/exit for over ten minutes at a time, completely jamming the driveway, and no one did anything about it! They claimed to have a shuttle bus service to town, but they didn't control the number of passengers, which resulted in some people not being able to get on. The website said check-in was at 2 PM, but when 2 PM rolled around, they told us the room wasn't ready and we'd have to wait until 2:30 PM for the key card, without a single apology.

Really nice looking room and a very good price performance ratio. And you even get a complimentary drink. Room was nice and warm upon arrival. I didnt really understand the self checkin for a second, cause i didnt know the rooms were directly at the parkinglot, where the whiteboards and the name are written. Really easy and useful for a fast checkin and checkout. I would stay there again.

This hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from Queenstown center, offering a quiet escape while still being close to the action. Parking costs 10 NZD per day, which is worth it for the security.
The hardware is top-notch, definitely boutique hotel quality. Breakfast is included and conveniently placed in the fridge and minibar area for self-service.
The 'only' lake view is across a road from the lake, but the window view is still stunning enough.

Guest UserWalked out onto the balcony and we were met with these stunning views.
The time that we visited (May) meant that it was slightly too cold to be out on the balcony for too long, but the views that we enjoyed out of the window were magnificent.
When the first arrived the lady on the front desk was very friendly, and helpful.
We had asked for a double bed and had been allocated two single beds. She quickly contacted the ladies from house keeping and they very kindly sprung into action to help rectify the situation.
The housekeeping staff were nice and pleasant, and the location was just right for us to get out and about visiting some of the local attractions like the Kiwi birdlife park.
The big plus about staying at the highview apartments was having a parking space. When you visit queenstown you'll soon find out that in some places finding a parking space is like gold dust.

It is a lakefront hotel, making it easy to enjoy a walk around Queenstown. Although the accommodation is older, it’s kept clean and tidy. The reception was a bit hard to find, so you need to drive slowly to avoid missing it. We were lucky enough to stay on a lower level, which meant fewer stairs to access our room. The only downside was some noise from next door—guests seemed to enjoy karaoke until midnight, which was a bit bothersome. Nonetheless, it’s a nice hotel to stay at for a family of five.

Guest UserThe views are stunning and the atmosphere is fantastic. Our room was on the second floor, which was a bit inconvenient with large luggage. You can always ask the front desk staff in advance if you'd like to switch rooms. It's super close to the Lonely Tree, which is incredibly convenient.

Guest UserThis hotel is located in the commercial and hotel district near the airport, and it has its own parking. If you're not driving, you can catch the #1 bus to the airport just a 2-minute walk from the entrance. It takes about 20-something minutes to get to Queenstown city center. There's a 'Red Super' supermarket about a 10-minute walk away, and plenty of local restaurants nearby, which is very convenient.
The room itself is very spacious and fully equipped with pots, pans, a dishwasher, and even salt and pepper. It's perfect for cooking your own meals and then enjoying them on the balcony with a view.

Michael V.We were in the“Seabreaze“ apt, which was very clean and had the exact great views over the beach as described. The bed was comfy and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our breakfast. While it was cold outside, the heating inside kept us warm and cozy. Parking in the garage underneath, or right beside the building for a larger car. Important to mention the Italian restaurant just 100m away at the corner, which is our absolute favourite when coming to Dunedin! We highly recommend staying at the Esplanade Apartments and will book again in the future.

We LOVED this accommodation!
It was at a great location, walking distance to nearby cafe and the Hilton restaurant - which was amazing for sunset drinks overlooking the gorgeous lake and snow capped mountains.
It was close enough to the bustle of Queenstown but far enough away to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
The host was friendly and welcoming and provided really useful information that assisted our stay.
Self - paid car parking walking distance.
Other dining options in the immediate area were limited but we had food delivered easily. Thank you!
