The location is good. But is still a distance to Imago mall. The hotel do provide one-way transport service to Imago mall or Suria mall. The room size is big and do have table and chair suitable for business traveller. The receptionist service is good and friendly. They willing to change a damage hair-dryer for us although it is taking a long time to get a good one. The facility a bit old but overall still ok.

🇲🇾 My dream room at Sheraton Kota Kinabalu! 🌟
The hotel's design is super stylish and sophisticated; every corner is Instagram-worthy, making the overall experience absolutely perfect! 💯
The front desk staff were very thoughtful and arranged connecting twin rooms for us during check-in. The rooms were spacious, the bedding comfortable, and the soundproofing excellent – just clean and cozy. The bathroom even had a large bathtub, which both adults and kids enjoyed for a good soak, and the water temperature adjusted quickly and well.
There's an infinity pool on the hotel's top floor with stunning sea views, perfect for watching the sunset and an amazing photo spot. Next to it, there's a bar. After the kids were asleep, my husband and I could enjoy a drink while admiring the night view – very romantic. The hotel's breakfast buffet was also great, offering authentic Malaysian Nasi Lemak, noodle soup, Western bacon and eggs, and various fruits. The kids loved the croissants, and the staff even proactively helped us warm them up. The overall service quality was truly a pleasant surprise!
The hotel's location is very central. It only takes about a 5-minute taxi ride to get to the jetty, Gaya Street, or major shopping malls, making transportation very convenient. There are a few 24-hour convenience stores right opposite the hotel, where we bought some local specialties to bring back for friends and family.
Sheraton Kota Kinabalu absolutely exceeded my expectations. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit!

The biggest issue is that for a beachfront resort, its beach is practically nonexistent – though it doesn't really hinder the fun! I booked a sea-view room for three nights, expecting to step right out to the ocean. However, Magellan (hotel) seems to have a dock, so the 'beach' is all rocks. There's only about a 10-meter wide 'sandy' area, suitable for snorkeling. The underwater rocky reefs here make for pretty good snorkeling. The adjacent Pacific Sutera beach, which shares facilities, is a bit longer, but the waves are bigger there, so the snorkeling isn't as good as here. Both hotels share four pools, which is great for swimming, but it feels a bit odd to go to a beach resort and only swim in the pool. I didn't find any other major deal-breakers; overall, the experience was good. The service wasn't bad, and while the facilities aren't new, they're not run-down either. Breakfast was decent, with all the usual offerings. There are indeed a lot of Koreans here, even more than I encountered in Jeju Island previously. I guess this hotel is a social media hotspot in Korea!

The hotel service is great, and the facilities are well-maintained. The location is very convenient, with a market directly opposite offering snacks, seafood, and fruits. Next to the central market, there's also a seafood street food stall area at night.

Never expecting this such great location,
Just walk within 10 min to Pasar Philipin, wet market, grocery and so on .
Amenities well prepared, staff was so kind.
I forgot her name. Check in late evening and she really helpful and full of greeting.
And one more things, i LEFT MY WALLET here,
And after arriving at the airport i noticed my wallet was lost or missing. Then i call the receptionist, THEY KEPT my wallet . 😭
All staff members are so kind! From cleaning services till the front desk !
KUDOS!

The hotel is really nice. The sea-view room was excellent; falling asleep to the sound of the waves at night was wonderful. The service is great, and breakfast is good too. I highly recommend the freshly baked waffles with honey. You should definitely set aside more time to enjoy the hotel facilities.

I was absolutely delighted with my stay at Shangri-La Tanjung Aru, Kota Kinabalu! The service was incredibly thoughtful, and all the staff were so warm and welcoming, making for a truly wonderful experience. The hotel's environment is stunning; both the gardens and the sea views are incredibly picturesque. The spot for watching the sunset is absolutely unbeatable – you don't have to go far to witness a breathtaking evening glow. The breakfast spread was extensive, offering both Chinese and Western options, all delicious and fresh. What's most convenient is that you can book island hopping tours directly through the hotel, and the jetty is right next door, which saved so much hassle and time. The island scenery was also incredibly beautiful. Overall, I had a comfortable stay and a fantastic time. If you're coming to Kota Kinabalu for sunsets and a vacation, this is definitely the top choice – I wholeheartedly recommend it!
I was really worried after seeing the 3.9 rating and reviews before booking, but after arriving: what an amazing hotel! This view, in China, would easily cost ten times more at the beach, wouldn't it? A Grab taxi from the city center cost me 40 MYR cash. The hotel front desk doesn't have Chinese-speaking staff, but checking in was no problem. They gave us a newly renovated room on the first floor, and even from there, you could see the sea. We had booked a sea view room on the 5th floor. We tried out golf, which was only 200 MYR and included club rental. Dinner at the VIP building's Chinese restaurant cost around 600-700 MYR for 10 people, which I thought was pretty reasonable, and the food wasn't as bad as some reviews claimed. The view here is simply unbeatable. The only regret was not being able to surf because the waves were too big. We did try the SPA, but only the one-hour option was available for 128 MYR. You need to book in advance, and there's no Chinese service.
The cleanliness of the room and bathroom was satisfactory. The location is strategic, close to Sandakan airport, with a laundry, market, and restaurants conveniently located around the hotel. There were only three minor drawbacks:
Firstly, if you book a room with a bathtub, showering is difficult. (See the second picture.) You have to step into the tub to turn on the water, and the cold tap only dispensed hot water, so you had no choice but to endure hot showers.
Secondly, only one room key card was issued. If you're not staying solo and someone leaves the room, they'll have to knock to get back in.
Lastly, the TV was non-functional as it had no channels and couldn't connect to the Wi-Fi. The TV itself looked like an outdated model.

Great
I particularly love the location, 15 mins' ride to airport and 10 mins' ride to the city centre. The area of the resort is large, next to the sea, with quite some water or other kids activities available. We didn't try the pools but look nice. Breakfast has a wide variety with something different each day. The hotel is a bit aged and torn. Cleanliness inside the room and common areas (carpets) should be better.
We stayed 2 nights and had a fantastic stay despite the bad weather on the first day. We received great services from the resort management team Mr Karl, Ms Siti, Mdm Lydia also from the restaurant and recreational team members. We look forward to be back again! Booked the family suite that is beautifully furnished and got a fantastic view of Mt Kinabalu from the room as well as variety of fishes swimming below us. Snorkelling and kayaking are complimentary for the entire day and was great way for us to explore the beautiful waters. On the last day, we unfortunately left our tablet in the room and we were notified immediately upon arrival at the jetty and the resort arranged it to be delivered to their jetty office within the same afternoon. Overall it was a great experience and the welcoming and departure greetings by the management team were certainly memorable and beyond our expectations!
The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. It was suitable for a family and for those who prefer to relax. The view from our room was fascinating and breathtaking. Their food is super tasty. We only need 5 to 10 minutes to access food places and a trip package to Pasar Semporna. We will book this hotel again once we come back to Semporna.
Not as good as my expectations of 5 stars of shangri la hotel, but still in great value and services consider the price is much cheaper. I came with my family including 2 kids at 6 and 8, they love the game area and swimming pools with water slides. Because of 2 nights stay in the wet seasons in September. especially after 5pm, a tropical rainfall so that I didn't get any chance to see sunset in the beaches. The beaches are not really good condition of sand quality. I enjoyed the morning hiking trip to the nearby hills and also the walk in the beach. Many wildlife and calm of the days.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An unforgettable island getaway Our stay at Sutera @ Mantanani was absolutely amazing. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and breathtaking views of crystal-clear waters and white sandy beaches. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed to blend with the natural beauty of the island. Waking up to the sound of the sea was truly refreshing. The food was delicious, with a good variety, and we appreciated the care taken in every meal. What stood out the most was the staff friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. The snorkeling experience was unforgettable, with vibrant marine life just steps away from the resort. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape from city life and a chance to reconnect with nature, Sutera @ Mantanani is the perfect choice. We left with wonderful memories and would definitely love to return. Highly recommended! 🌊🌴
Had a wonderful Christmas Eve stay here. I stayed in a golf field view room, which was incredibly peaceful and calming. Even with the golf field view, I could still see parts of the ocean, and the sunset was absolutely beautiful. I spent some time at the pool and was able to enjoy a stunning sunset from there as well, overlooking the pier by the beach — it was truly an amazing view. I ordered room service during my stay and was very impressed with how prompt and friendly the service was. The room was cozy, clean, and very comfortable, and I especially enjoyed relaxing in the bathtub after a long day. Overall, everything felt calm and well taken care of, making it a perfect stay. I would definitely choose to stay here again next time.

Very Good
This resort is located in a spectacular position on the island. We were blown away by the views from our villa, and the whole experience felt luxury, thanks to all the helpful staff, the air-conditioned waiting room for the speedboat, and the beautiful finishings. It’s also a place to have a good balance of relaxation and activities - we took part in meditation, the nature walk, snorkeling and marine talk which were all at no additional cost. Angel and Dhiv, who hosted our nature walk and marine talk respectively, were friendly, knowledgeable and made their activities very enjoyable. The dinner buffet was impressive with fresh spiced fried chicken and fresh juicy grilled prawns. I also had a banoffee cheesecake that changed my life, credits to the pastry team! We also appreciated the local Malaysian foods available in the breakfast buffet like roti jala and nasi lemak. The private beach’s highlight is the marine center and the coral and turtles it houses - we didn’t have the set lunch there but we’re okay to give it a miss. Our one gripe was unfortunately spotting lizard faeces near the bathroom which was a bit of a mood killer, but the room was otherwise spotless. Would definitely come back here again!
I really liked everything in this hotel, very friendly staff. There is a luggage storage room. The cafeteria provides delicious coffee. Excellent breakfasts. Comfortable beds and spacious rooms! It's cozy and comfortable at home! We will definitely come back to you next time!
Away from the city, wrapped in calm Quiet, private, and mostly visited by guests from Korea and China. Truly love this place highly recommended for privacy lovers. Definitely I will come again..thank you Karambunai Resort.
