It’s a lovely place, full of locals, so everywhere is kept and maintained clean and enjoyable. Hotel has different areas / activity to explore, service was attentive and thoughtful, parents enjoyed thenselves
Even though it was during the Obon holiday, the public bath and breakfast were of high quality, and the value for money was excellent. The room was spacious enough. The only downside was that the coin laundry was crowded (which is understandable), and even though several machines had finished running, there was still laundry in the washing machine and it was unusable. I asked a staff member who happened to be there, and he rudely told me to tell the front desk. He may not be a customer service representative, but if there's a chance he'll be facing guests, I think he should learn a bit more etiquette. I later told another uniformed staff member about the situation with the washing machine, but he said he didn't know who it belonged to and that he'd just have to wait for someone to come and retrieve it. No one wants to waste time, so I'd like them to consider a more efficient operation, such as having the staff retrieve the laundry themselves.
It's about 10 minutes away from the city. The location is not great, but the hospitality is excellent and the hotel thinks about the details of its guests. The lounge area from the large public bath and the free drinks there are great, so you can relax and take your time. I think it's worth staying an night just for this hotel. I wish they could extend the bath time a little more in the morning.
I was misled by Ctrip's traffic instructions. I took the Nichinan Line to Orisha Station. Although it was close to the hotel, there were no taxis at the exit. I walked for nearly an hour to get to the hotel. When I checked out, the hotel arranged a free car to take me to the station. There were no restaurants or convenience stores around the hotel, which was a bit inconvenient. The facilities and baths were OK, and many locals came to take a hot spring bath.
Stayed one night, location is a bit isolated in terms of restaurants and things to do. Definitely an outdated hotel and could do with a renovation, however the room was definitely very large for Japanese standards so the was a plus!(superior queen). If self driving there is a multistory carpark right behind hotel so that’s also a plus.
When I saw where the hotel was located, I immediately knew that I wanted to stay there because I dreamed of seeing Amanoiwato Jinja. I went to the cave twice, in the morning and in the evening, there is a very beautiful road, and it only takes about 20 minutes to walk. It is also easy to get to Takachiho Gorge, the bus stop is a couple of minutes from the hotel.
This was my first experience of staying in a traditional hotel in Japan, and I really liked everything. Delicious dinner and breakfast - I tried a traditional kaiseki dinner, and it was an amazing experience. Attentive, caring hotel staff, perfect cleanliness everywhere, amazing mountain air. Natural wood in the room decoration creates a feeling of warmth and comfort. In the bathroom, you can try Japanese cosmetics. In the evening, you can drink tea, sitting in a comfortable chair with a book. At first, the silence around is unusual, but for us, city dwellers, it is necessary. Since it is dark around, you can see the starry sky - you will not see this in the city. There is a free shuttle from the hotel to the traditional Yokagura show in the evening. For someone interested in mythology, this was very interesting.
I did not get the hang of the hot tub right away and I still feel awkward about it, and I forgot to mention that I am allergic to onions, but it is my fault for forgetting to mention it.
I would highly recommend the Ryokan Iwatoya, it was an amazing experience.
Department house の の Cleanliness は Problem なし
There are many insects in the public bath anyway.
I'm going to go to other hot springs, but there's a lot of them here.
I want you to take the insects floating in the hot water regularly.
The scenery was very good
At night, the light outside is too dazzling and the stars are hard to see, so it's better to be a little weaker.
The lobby, the public bath, the view from the restaurant are superb because it is high
It was hard to get a light car because I was going up the slope.
There are free water bottles for people.
There's a cotton swab, emulsion, water server in the public bath.
Ice machines, sake vending machines were also in the elevator.
Cospa was good
The air conditioner in the room seemed to be in bad condition.
It's a pretty negative that it's 17 degrees, but it's not cold and it's hot all the time.
Room size was just enough for 3 adults and 1 baby. It was good idea to book tatami as the baby can walk around in the room. The room was a bit old but it was fine and good to sleep and rest. The breakfast was good too, transitional Japanese style. The public hot spring was not good, quite old but clean notmal water. I would recommend you to buy some hot spring powder to make your own one hot spring bath in the room 😂

GGuest UserThe room is Japanese style and very clean. The hotel's large bath is a bit small, with only one pool. The location is very close to Takachiho Gorge
GGuest UserRoom was clean and good for the price. We walked a bit, but the partner hot spring was also very good. The parking lot and the reception were polite.
