Had a lovely stay here during our trip to Harrogate for conference held at the convention centre. Extremely convenient as the hotel is literally connected to the convention centre. Otherwise a slight walk from the train station but pleasant as the town is quaint. Also surrounded by food options in the streets nearby.
Lovely welcome and refreshments on your visit good breakfast comfortable room and bed ideal for north Yorkshire railway visit, would certainly recommend this hotel
I’ve extended my stay as I’m enjoying my room. It’s a great hotel, fantastic location, spacious and clean. Breakfast is fab. I’m not understanding any of the negative reviews?! It is a 20 min walk from the station but that’s because most of the attractions are a 15 minute walk from the station anyway! I would definitely book here again.
Booked this last minute but the hotel is good and in a great location. Helpful staff with a great sun terrace to have a few drinks in happy hour! A lot of seagulls messing everywhere but that's not the hotels fault, something needs to be done about that problem.

One of the best hotels I've stayed in in the UK. The small town of York gives people a slow and intimate feeling. The hotel is not far from the train station and the city center. The concierge service is very good. The room is very warm and equipped with a record player and radio. It is full of retro style just like the city of York.
We had a comfortable stay with a spacious room and great amenities. However, there was a party in the lobby during our stay that made the area quite crowded and noisy. Despite that, we still had a good experience overall and would recommend it for families.
Lovely place to stop on a long journey. Perfectly positioned for long drives where you need a break.
Very clean, really like that each room has a bath.
Breakfast is excellent and they have a nice bar for lunch and work meetings.
Stopped here several times, flexible about arrival time.
I had a pleasant stay at this hotel during my visit to York.
The room was clean and stylish, offering a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. One of the biggest advantages was the hotel’s convenient location. York is a compact city, and from the hotel, it was easy to walk to the city centre. This made it incredibly convenient to return to the hotel for a short rest before heading out again.
The complimentary coffee and croissants provided were not only delicious but also very convenient, especially for a quick breakfast or snack. Additionally, the staff at the front desk were exceptionally friendly and responsive, promptly addressing any questions or requests I had.
That said, there were a couple of minor inconveniences. The laundry facilities seemed poorly maintained, which might be an issue for longer stays, though it wasn’t a significant problem for my two-night visit. Another issue was that all the power in the room was controlled by the keycard, and alternative cards couldn’t be used. This meant that every time I left the room, all power, including charging devices or heating, was turned off. It was a bit inconvenient, especially during colder weather.
Overall, despite these minor drawbacks, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel for its excellent location, clean rooms, and helpful staff.
Stayed here on Fri 29th Nov. First impressions were good. all the staff were friendly and extremely helpful.
The room was well laid out, with a large warm bathroom. Plenty of space to move around. Our room overlooked the Christmas tree on the roundabout, which meant we had a bit of traffic noise through the night, but not intrusive or enough to disturb sleep. nice offering of teas, coffees, biscuits. Breakfast was made to order, so nice and hot with quality produce. we had a full cooked breakfast, which was delicious.
If I'm being really picky, the shower lacked any power, which meant I had to take the shower head off the riser rail and crouch in the bath.
Would definitely stay again and recommend.

GGuest UserStayed one night because of the marathon the next day. The staffs were friendly and procedures like Checkin are convenient. Great location, close to the station and hotel. However, the inability of the air conditioner to heat up made the room less comfortable. But I stillI had a good rest here and set a PB in the race the next day, so it was a good stay overall.

GGuest UserWow! Booked last minute for 3 of us, didn’t see any photos of the room so were very surprised. I just booked as it said 3 beds, included breakfast and was in the town itself. The room was huge. There was 1 room with a four poster bed and a second room with a double and a single with really high ceilings. There was even a hallway when entering the room and the bathroom had a bath and separate shower. Everything was clean, beds really comfortable. Tea and nespresso coffee machine with a nice selection of biscuits. One of the rooms was slightly cold but they had provided plug in heaters. We overlooked the pump room museum. It was so close to town, the valley gardens and Betty’s tea room. It was a tad expensive but to be expected as booked last minute. Parking if you could get a space is £12 and has to be vacated by 12 noon, unfortunately I had to park elsewhere but it was not too far (jubilee car park for about £14).
Breakfast was good but the room was even more impressive with lovely ornate ceilings, pillars and atmospheric lighting. There was a hot and cold selection, not huge but sufficient. Would have been nice to have more veg options such as veg sausages and I noticed that the same spoon was being used to serve the black pudding as the fried eggs so I stayed away and had scrambled instead.
All in all a very pleasant stay.
Ddashv1llWe had a lovely stay at Diamonds Inn. We booked the Standard Suite, Ensuite 3-bed room which is located at the top floor of the building. A very quaint compact en-suite family room great for a group of friends or family. All basic amenities are there including towels, shampoo and shower gels. There’s also an electric water kettle, coffee/tea, hair dryer and a small fridge! Beds are soft and comfy. Walls are thin and may hear voices of other guests in the halls during the day but was not a major issue during our stay, mostly quiet after 10pm. Location is very convenient as its only a stones throw away from one of the famous wall entrances, a pub and restaurant across and York Minster. Host was lovely and friendly as well, called to ask if we can get an early check-in and was happy to accommodate us.

PPing ShingHotel Reception has very good service. We are arrived at the hotel early but the reception also arranged hotel rooms for us, so felt that the hotel service was very good.
For other thins is the hotel room is a bit older but the room is clean. Overall has good service and hotel. Thank you
GGuest UserHotel is situated right opposite Clifton tower and is conveniently located within. The city centre - walking distance to the Shambles and other attractions. The parking situation is problematic - although aware it is first come first served, there is nowhere available to park up and ask except the three spaces in front of the hotel and if taken, you end up circling the road for an absolutely age before a space becomes available. If no parking on site end up parking over the road on public car park which is inconvenient as keep having to work out when to renew. The cleanliness is a slight issue, we thought there was dust on surfaces but more likely to be cloth fibres from the cleaners but still don't expect shedding like this. Room was fine but did think bathroom was on the smaller side for a double deluxe room. Service in general was good - couldn't really fault.
NnigelFirst the positives.
The room was very clean, comfortable and bathroom was obviously recently refurbished.
Breakfast was excellent and good value, but more on that later.
Now the not so good, or could do better!
The check in policy is ludicrous, I understand they need to have a designated check in time, but whilst waiting (40 minutes) I overheard the staff clearly stating that all rooms were ready for guests, but as people were entering the reception they were informed that check was not possible until 3pm and they had to wait or pay £10.00 for an early check in!
The result was a packed reception and when they did commence check in, due to a “new system “ it was painfully slow! Very poor customer service.
The breakfast was good value, but the attitude of the cashier guy was poor at best, probably rude if to be defined. On approaching him I was asked “ breakfast for two “ to which I replied “ no there’s only one” to which he snapped “ well I’m not to know that!”
Not expected and yes rude!
