Impressive old building, great location, lovely breakfast. Our room was very spacious with a large bathroom which was great but as we were at the rear it was a bit dark as we looked out onto walls and the paintwork being a little dreary didn’t help but the bed was very comfy! Would have appreciated a bottle or two of water in the room. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.
Overnight stay in Harrogate, hotel in a great location within easy walking distance of the town centre for shopping, dining etc. We opted of a king room which was very spacious with a huge bed. Breakfast had a great selection of food to choose from and the full English was excellent. Would definitely stay at this hotel again and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
Lovely well kept room with WiFi too which was a bonus and had 3 lovely nights there and all the staff at hotel were very nice and friendly and very helpful to me too which impressed me the most
An excellent 'home from home' stay and a great location. It's a short walk to the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway.
A warm friendly welcome on arrival and we were shown immediately to our room.
Our room (No6) has a great view and is spacious and bright. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows. Tea & Coffee making facilities along with biscuits were appreciated.
The ensuite bathroom was spacious too and had complimentary toiletries.
The breakfast was lovely, so many choices to pick and the portions were generous.
A great place to stay!!
The hotel is perfectly situated for exploring sights of Harrogate everything very nearby!
From checking in and our room available early with welcome cookies which were warm and amazing to checkout the staff could not be more helpful!
The room was on the third floor clean, tidy and well presented.
The gym and spa facilities were all good and nice to use and relax especially on a Sunday evening!
The breakfast was buffet with a selection of hot and cold options the parcel machine was my favourite fresh pancakes which were delicious!
This hotel is huge but it's well maintained clean tidy and such an enjoyable experience for our anniversary!
The hotel is very grand, which gives us a feeling of a posh holiday without breaking the bank. Staying in such a centrally located and stunning place adds value to the trip. The only thing I wasn’t thrilled about was the size of the room. We chose the cheapest one, so we got what we paid for.
Outstanding Experience to stay at this fantastic hotel! From the warm welcome at the door, to a friendly check in, super clean and cozy rooms with modern facilities and super comfortable beds to the Bar at night that offers delicious Cocktails and a great Whisky Selection - you are well taken care of! Just out the door you can reach the city wall and many small Cafe‘s and restaurants, as well as the train station. Valet Parking is 50£, a garage with roughly 35£ per night is just around the corner if you come by car. Would definitely visit again!
Location of hotel is excellent for shops, restaurants and pubs, the room was exceptionally clean. The only downside in room was shower had no shelf for items and took a bit of figuring out. Staff were polite and on hand to help if needed. The parking is on a first come first served basis.

We often stay in Harrogate but had deemed this hotel a bit far out of town. Far from it. It's a pleasant stroll of 5 minutes through a nice residential area to get to the main shopping and eating areas of town. The Hotel has plenty of parking (small daily fee) or plenty of on road parking closeby (right outside of a weekend).
In particular the staff were excellent. So many smiles and so pleased to help. We stayed for a function and the event room and servicing were very good (nice crossiants). Well done Cedar Court you exceeded our expectations.

Great
GGuest UserOn the surface, this cozy place is probably a good bet for a stay in York. It's just enough outside of the city center to avoid all the tourists, but close enough to walk right in. The reservation process was great and the price is good. It's supposed to be a 4 star hotel and, in many senses, it lives up to that status. The staff is excellent. The food and coffee is very good and everyone is very attentive. The rooms are immaculate (heated bathroom floors are amazing!) and the amenities are great. That all said, there are some issues . Often the staff cleans the front area in the middle of the afternoon, which is a rather inconvenient time to clean as it is disruptive to the guests. Though the summer would be different, it was in the low 40's when we were there and heating in the lobby doesn't seem to be a priority for the hotel. We had to have someone set up a space heater for us in the tea room so we could stay warm, which was a bad look (tacky) for them. The biggest issue, however, we that they held a wedding event on the second say we were there. While it's completely understandable for hotels to host events, this particular location is ill suited to do so given the noise level of the event and the small quarters of the hotel. They had a live band, which sent the music to most of the rooms, making sleeping nearly impossible. Though they did move our room, we still heard the band, who played until almost midnight. Having a bunch of wedding guests being loud all lover the hotel also didn't help. The staff agreed with my assessment, which was to either not have events at all or, if they do, block out the rooms from being rented since it is impossible to merge the hotel with an event space. it's just too small. Ultimately, they need to make a decision about who they are as a brand, event space or 4 star hotel. I'd pitch they choose hotel because that is what it really is.
GGuest UserBeautiful hotel, staff so helpful, clean room very soft bed rooms have iron-hairdryer tea coffee & kitkat on arrival. Good breakfast choice.
GGuest UserStayed one night because of the marathon the next day. The staffs were friendly and procedures like Checkin are convenient. Great location, close to the station and hotel. However, the inability of the air conditioner to heat up made the room less comfortable. But I stillI had a good rest here and set a PB in the race the next day, so it was a good stay overall.

GGuest UserGood location, check in wasn’t til 4pm! Room was cold the wall heater didn’t work nor did the towel heater in the bathroom. There was a free standing heater for the room. Windows needs replacing they are covered in mould. The floorboards are very creaky so you can hear people moving around and doors slamming. Bed was
Comfy. Breakfast wasn’t well organised they ran out of lots of hot food we had to wait for beans, eggs and sausages. They couldn’t cope with the amount of people eating at the same time.
Would expect better from a Hilton.
Wouldn’t stay again.

GGuest UserExcellent stay here, great quiet location on the river within easy walking distance to York City centre. For the money the room was top notch big plus points being a great shower, kitchenette with fridge and the rooms own iron and board .
Staff also a pleasure to deal with, allowed us to store our luggage both before check in and after check out so we could enjoy some time in York.
Genuinely can't fault this place, and great value for money.
AAnonymous UserWe stayed here a few years before and really enjoyed our stayed so booked to come back for our anniversary. We were in the opposite side of the building this time and it was still delightful. We really enjoyed the separation of the bathroom from the bedroom with a little study area. The place was starting to get a little run down however. There was no handle on the toilet, and one of the bathroom lights didn’t work. Toilet roll was paper thin and the lights above the bed were perfect height for hitting your head when getting in and out of bed. Other than that though he we enjoyed our stayed. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and the restaurant food was delicious.
GGuest UserHotel is situated right opposite Clifton tower and is conveniently located within. The city centre - walking distance to the Shambles and other attractions. The parking situation is problematic - although aware it is first come first served, there is nowhere available to park up and ask except the three spaces in front of the hotel and if taken, you end up circling the road for an absolutely age before a space becomes available. If no parking on site end up parking over the road on public car park which is inconvenient as keep having to work out when to renew. The cleanliness is a slight issue, we thought there was dust on surfaces but more likely to be cloth fibres from the cleaners but still don't expect shedding like this. Room was fine but did think bathroom was on the smaller side for a double deluxe room. Service in general was good - couldn't really fault.
NnigelFirst the positives.
The room was very clean, comfortable and bathroom was obviously recently refurbished.
Breakfast was excellent and good value, but more on that later.
Now the not so good, or could do better!
The check in policy is ludicrous, I understand they need to have a designated check in time, but whilst waiting (40 minutes) I overheard the staff clearly stating that all rooms were ready for guests, but as people were entering the reception they were informed that check was not possible until 3pm and they had to wait or pay £10.00 for an early check in!
The result was a packed reception and when they did commence check in, due to a “new system “ it was painfully slow! Very poor customer service.
The breakfast was good value, but the attitude of the cashier guy was poor at best, probably rude if to be defined. On approaching him I was asked “ breakfast for two “ to which I replied “ no there’s only one” to which he snapped “ well I’m not to know that!”
Not expected and yes rude!
