Lovely stay as usual, except the bathroom was a bit tired looking. A couple of hairs in the sink and the bottom inch of the bathroom door was all split/ frayed from water damage. Apart from the watee/ biscuits - no difference in the room as far as I could see. Breakfast was plentiful but preferred having individual jams for hygiene, but glad there was butter now as never been any last 4 times. Staff are lovely as usual

The building is old and has beautiful quirks. Bear in mind that due to the age of the building, you will hear a lot of floorboards creaking and noise from other rooms. My room had a bath and was very spacious. It was a shame no fridges, but the biggest problems for my stay was no WiFi as I was working for 4 days. The issue was 'managed' very badly by the manager and some reception staff. The problem started on day 1 and had a big impact on the enjoyment of my stay. I discussed it with the top manager on leaving and it was managed very well. I am just sad it wasn't resolved properly sooner and very disappointed with the staff. If you need WiFi I would check with the hotel in advance.

Service staff is very responsive with our requests and doing her best to meet our needs. Highly recommended to stay at this hotel when visiting Exeter. It is located directly opposite Exeter Central Train Station.

Great hotel in a ideal location for Central Plymouth or Continental Ferry Port. Modern Design with bar and restaurant. Rooms have everything you need for a comfy stay.

Staff are very accommodating, I asked if they could store my bag prior to check-in (so i could go off and explore unencumbered) and they offered to check me in early. The room was very comfortable, clean and well equipped. I didnt get a chance to use the restaurant/bar, I was only staying 1 night , but I liked the appearance and ambiance when I passed.

Location and view are fantastic, facilities are good, there's no denying it's an old hotel and that comes with some quirks and even a few areas that are a bit rough round the edges but it's not advertised as the 5 star hotel it once was. So as a 4 star I'd recommend it to anyone, the staff and cleanliness of room couldn't be faulted!! My only real gripe / area that needs some more immediate attention is please get an EV charger or two!

Great location, just a few minutes from the train station. Despite looking like an old building, the rooms were comfortable with good views from the window. It's basically in the town centre so you can walk to the nearby attractions. One negative was that they wanted to charge us for a late check-out.

A last minute booking as we were passing through Exeter visiting family. The room was decent with a comfy bed. There was a little noise from the courtyard outside playing music at night which stopped about 10pm. No issue. Great central location and a relaxed night. No complimentary toiletries 🧴not even a toothbrush 🪥- which is just a pain to have to go and buy them. I asked at reception and he just shook his head. 🤷♂️99% of hotels we stay at have them - seems a little tight 🤣 - anyway no issues with the room or location so we’d stay here again if needed. 👍
