Have to say the room is okay especially the toilet and shower ,but only one curtain in between is not too pleasant for shower water .
Blanket i like -warm and light ,not too big for complicated handling.
Surprised me no table no sofa no chair in the room ,and have been told that in case i need i should ask the receiption to change the room -it is the first time to hear .Anyway i went thru …
Location is good ,very handy to go to the hbf Dusseldorf ,while there is a lake in front -quite some swans and wild geese /ducks on the water ,very nice to watch them.
Only 400m to walk to reach the metro station ,then going to many destinations;
From Airport to the hotel ,quite short distance ,by train also possible it you do not have too much luggage.
By walking distance also can reac the Japanese Street ,as well the king street …
Giving a thumbs up ref to the breakfast - kinds of rolls /bread,cheese ,salad, sausage ,museli, tea, coffee ,yogurt ,whatever you would like to have ,really more than plenty ,and also always seats available ,as the capacity is really big enough ,never will forget this breakfast !
Off course room rate reached the roof but can understand everyone will take this advantage to charge ,as hotel is also some kind of business!
Will definitely stay here again for the future !
Recommend you to choose this Holiday Inn -the niu tab Dusseldorf !
Thanks !
All was good. Clean and practical dorm rooms. Breakfast was nice and plenty. it is in the middle of the town, so all sights are within easy walking distance. Would certainly stay here again.
Located near Dusseldorf Airport, it was not perfectly completed yet.
But the rooms were clean and the facilities were clean.
It was nice to have a Korean BBQ restaurant across the road.
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The rooms were nice and comfortable, it had a built-in speaker so I could play my music (honestly my favorite feature). The bathroom was clean and had its own AC, nice touch! The bar was open 24/7 and has a pizza menu, it was great for after the concert I attended, because I was hungry! Lastly, parking costs 15€ per day.
We booked this hotel to attend the Medica fair in Dusseldorf .The hotel located near the centeal railway station that is very convenient to travel to the exhibision by train.
There are also a lot of international food restaurants around the hotel within 2 Kms. like Viatnamese fod , Chinese food , Thai food , Japsnese food.
First time traveling with friends and staying in a four-people room, it was a nice experience! Room was compact with a double bed, a bunk bed, a table, some chairs, private bathroom with shower, towels and bed linen. The public area around the reception had plenty of working spaces, tables, some games like table football and a designated kids are. Hostel was 15 min from Little Tokyo, good to walk to but also some trams go near the hotel - a bit of walking is required but the area seemedsafe and quiet!
The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was nice! Above all, I was thinking of going earlier than check-in time to leave my luggage and leave, but it was nice that they let me check in early. It was a little disappointing that there were no slippers in the room. And there is a church right next door, and the bell rings often.🥹 Overall, I was satisfied.
Great location, walking distance to all the great restaurants and shops in the city centre. Main lobby area was very nice and so were the rooms. The only minor issue in the room was that the bathroom door was in pretty rough condition on the inside due to water splashing from the shower. Wifi was pretty poor and we both ended up using mobile data the whole time we stayed at the hotel. Breakfast was good but I was hoping for a bit more variety, and the omelette chef was only present for a couple mornings out of our 6 night stay but it’s understandable because we stayed around Christmas. Great hotel for the price overall!
The hotel's location is super convenient, right by the train and bus stations. It's really easy to get to Cologne by train, and the hotel even provides a 'room pass' for free public transport, including the Wuppertal Suspension Railway. However, I have to complain that the German rail signals are notoriously unreliable with their timing.

Very Good
KKuantwVery close to the station. For late check-in, you need to contact the hotel in advance to get the access code and key. The room was clean and the bed was quite comfortable. The hot water was okay, but it would be better if it were a bit hotter. It was really good value for money with the discount! Perfect for a layover.
GGuest UserThe rooms were really spacious and the breakfast was delicious!! I would really recommend booking that if you‘re staying here. The only thing I have to criticize is that the gym is really small and it will quickly get crowded if multiple guests want to use it at once. There is only one multi use machine and treadmills, a bike and some weights which are way too heavy for most trainings. Overall we had a really great stay though!
GGuest UserVery clean and excellent Hotel. Friendly reception team and we even had a quiet room allocated on the floor I requested. Best night sleep. Breakfast was also excellent. We can definitely recommend this Hotel for outstanding service. It's also not far from the motorway. Would definitely stay there again.
GGuest UserIt is beautifully renovated recently and the room is extremely comfortable. However, some staff appeared not well trained. There are a cleaner kept to open my door while I was in the room and I didn't know if he do the same while I was not there. Once he caught me just out of shower. It is really disturbing?
__WeChat228080****The hotel I stayed in during my time in Cologne was generally a decent, practical choice, with no major flaws, but also a few surprises. The location was convenient, about a five-minute walk from the nearby bus stop. Tourist attractions like Cologne Cathedral and the Old Town are easily accessible by public transportation or taxi. Small supermarkets and small eateries are nearby, making daily groceries and meals convenient. The room was of moderate size, spacious enough for a single occupancy but a bit cramped for a double. The furniture and furnishings showed some signs of use, but were generally clean and tidy, and the bedding was perfectly soft, ensuring a pleasant sleep. The bathroom had a nice, dry/wet area with a reliable hot water supply. The toiletries were basic, but those with skincare needs are advised to bring their own. Regarding service, the front desk staff were friendly, efficient, and helpful. Check-in and check-out were both prompt and helpful. They patiently answered questions about directions to attractions, but they didn't proactively offer any extra touches (such as local recommendations or extended luggage storage). Breakfast is a simple buffet with basic items like bread, ham, eggs, coffee, and juice. The taste is quite satisfactory and can satisfy your hunger, but those who seek a richer meal may find it a bit monotonous. Overall, if you are looking for convenient travel in Cologne and a good value accommodation, this hotel meets basic needs and is suitable for travelers who value practicality over luxury.
DDEMHAI recently stayed at Holiday Inn Express Düsseldorf and overall had a mixed experience.
Location
The hotel is situated in a somewhat secluded area with a mix of residential buildings and ongoing development. It can feel a bit uneasy at night, although I never felt genuinely unsafe. The city centre is about a 30-minute walk, or you can take the underground, which is more convenient.
Parking
Parking is available onsite and is secure and spacious, which is a plus. However, at €30 per night, it feels quite expensive. There are some spaces outside the hotel, but signage is unclear and I wasn’t confident about leaving a car there overnight.
Customer Service
This was one of the weaker points. The staff weren’t particularly welcoming, and flexibility was limited — check-in is strictly at 3pm with no room for early access. While this may reflect a more typical German service style, it did come across as lacking warmth and customer focus.
Room & Facilities
The rooms are clean, modern, and functional — exactly what you’d expect from a Holiday Inn Express. However, a major frustration was the TV being locked in hotel mode, meaning HDMI inputs were disabled. I wanted to connect my own device but couldn’t. Staff were not helpful in resolving this, despite it being a relatively simple fix with the correct code.
There’s also not much happening in the hotel beyond a small bar, so limited in-house entertainment options made the TV issue more noticeable.
Breakfast (Highlight)
Breakfast was definitely the standout feature. A great selection of fresh fruits, hot food, and bakery items — everything was well-presented and genuinely tasty.
Overall Verdict
The hotel offers good value for money, with clean and comfortable rooms and an excellent breakfast. However, it’s let down by:
• The slightly isolated location
• Lack of customer-focused service
• Expensive parking
• Frustrating in-room limitations (TV restrictions)
The TV issue alone would make me hesitate to return. That said, if you’re looking for a clean, affordable stay and don’t mind the trade-offs, it’s still a reasonable option.
GGuest UserNice location in Little Tokyo of Düsseldorf. Friendly staff. Clean and modern hotel. Breakfast was good and you have many choice. Nice bar and the have family board games.
AAnonymous UserI had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and always ready to help with a smile. The breakfast was good, with a nice variety of options to start the day. The location was also very convenient, close to shops and attractions. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
GGuest UserExcellent location: we wanted to visit the Christmas market and it was very close by. Parking (€12 for 24h) is sufficient available and very accessible from the hotel. Breakfast was excellent, rooms very clean and staff very friendly.
PPeter ThurstonGreat location - our room overlooked the Rhine. The room was good, the bed comfortable, a good size shower and good water pressure. The colour design and decor were interesting. The boss (AKA the wife) said it reminded her of Austin Powers 😅. That said, it was modern, clean, comfortable, and we would definitely stay there again.
The low overall rating was owing to the fact thst the air conditioning for the building was on the fritz. The first night was uncomfortably hot and sticky. It was fixed by our second night.
