Friendly service from reception staff. Housekeeping requests attended to promptly. Friendly greetings from staff at main entrance too. Spacious room for solo traveller. Only minor issues: water pressure in shower quite weak, room aircon very cold and adjusting thermostat did not increase the temperature.

Beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. Carpenter street, the waterfront, where nightly light shows (approx 15mins) are held and various historical buildings and sites are right at the doorstep of the hotel or within walking distance. There is also an excellent mall (Plaza Merdeka) is connected to the hotel which is a plus. Great service from all staff, thank you so much for making our stay so enjoyable
The room was clean, and the front desk staff spoke Chinese, which made communication very smooth. The breakfast was standard. The hotel is close to the airport, which is convenient for early flights.
Location:Very close to airport. Below is 7-11,and mamak store. Very good location.
Cleaniness:Bed sheet has stain ,toilet have small crocoach. Toilet water stuck. Room is smelly
Facility: Toilet door no lock. Have hot water. Provide soap and towel only. Charger got two, one beside the bed, one behind the tv. Behind the tv have limited spare, cant use for phone charger

Stayed at the old wing (block where the main lobby is). Everything needs an upgrade. From the carpet to the doors of the cabinet and working desk, the power plugs on the wall, the phone, the bathroom with mould in the corners etc. it’s also always cold in the old wing. Slept without turning on the air con every night.
Breakfast was buffet style and had a good variety. But for me; the only thing that was good was the coffee machine. Maybe also because I’ve been to this city many times and I know there are a lot of good food just a few mins walk away.
Staff was great though. Housekeeping cleaned the bathtub rubber mat for me, brought water when asked and cafe staff were friendly and nice.
Many other hotel options in the city; I wouldn’t recommend this one.

The hotel's location is great, right next to a park, and you can enjoy the view across the river while having breakfast. The bed was large and the room was spacious. There was a slight odor when I first entered the room, possibly from the riverside sewer, but my nose is quite sensitive. After lighting an air freshener, it was generally fine. Overall, I was very satisfied with the experience. The hotel breakfast was also good and quite extensive, and the lobby offered dinner options, which was convenient. The front desk staff were very polite.
Spacious room, clean and good service, this is my second visit stay at the same hotel.
Strategic location, definitely will choose Kingwood again for my future visit

The hotel's location is excellent. Right across the street is the riverside park, making it very convenient to walk to Rainbow Bridge. The Parliament House on the opposite side is just a ten-minute walk away. In the evening, strolling along the Sarawak River on the opposite bank is also lovely. Just a heads-up: if you're returning to this side, make sure you get back before the Parliament House gate closes at 7 PM. We didn't notice the sign and ended up having to take a small ferry back. There are plenty of places to eat nearby. Except for the Sarawak Cultural Village and the Cat Museum, which require a taxi, all other attractions are within walking distance. Many museums are also worth visiting. There's a great Indian restaurant nearby that gets busy at lunchtime. The hotel's service and facilities are top-notch, especially the swimming pool, which has a fantastic ambiance. They even provide a complimentary fruit platter. Kuching is a city with a rich cultural heritage and is definitely worth a visit.
The room was very spacious and clean. However, we noticed a cigarette smell entering our room through the bathroom exhaust fan. We informed the hotel staff immediately, and they responded promptly by upgrading our room. We truly appreciated their quick and professional handling of the situation.
Breakfast offered a standard selection of Asian dishes. The fitness room was quite basic, with limited equipment options.

Great
GGuest UserThe breakfast suited my taste. I quite like the Malay cuisine on offer. The room is clean. The bathroom however has a sewage oder. Pouring boiling water down the drain reduced it to tolerable level. The corridor smells musty carpets
AAJ & ECCheck in process was smooth and seamless. Room were located at 15th Floor. Room definitely has aged after the many years in operation. All were good, nevertheless. Breakfast next day was the highlight. A good selection of international and local dishes were served. Good variety I would personally say. Sservice staff was attentive and kitchen team delivered what was requested. Definitely will make a return visit to the hotel again 👍🏻
GGuest UserDamai Lagoon Resort is nestled between the Mountain Santubong and the South China Sea. The resort environment is serene tugged in a tropical rainforest setting. The area provides a tranquil retreat with dense jungles and sandy beaches. The Sarawak Cultural Village is located just a stone’s throw away. It is within 10 minutes walking distance.
We were given all sea-fronting views with one corner rooms on the 3rd floor. We could listen to the waves crashing on the beach during high tide. The spacious space coupled with modern shower amenities and comfortable bedding made our stay an enjoyable experience and we had a relaxing time there. The buffet breakfast served was sumptuous with wide spread of local cuisines.
We enjoyed swimming in the clean infinity pool in a sunset backdrop. There are many indoor games provided for the children. Thus, you will not get bored staying in this resort. The resort entrance is grand and the guest lounge is huge and beautiful overlooking the sea.
The resort staff members are very helpful and friendly. The resort is highly recommended if you want to have a relaxing holiday outside Kuching city.
Thank you.
GGuest UserOverall, the stay itself was comfortable, and the room met expectations. The hotel's aesthetic is elegant and beautiful, and its location is convenient, surrounded by chinese restaurants within easy walking distance. The breakfast buffet was also good and enjoyable. However, the experience was unfortunately dampened by issues at the front desk, hygiene standards in the common areas, and soundproofing. We arrived around 10am and requested an early check-in, fully understanding that the standard check-in time is 2pm and that any earlier arrangement is subject to room availability and discretion. However, we were told by staff that early check-in would only be possible with an additional charge of RM160. This created an uncomfortable impression where it felt less like a matter of room availability and more like withholding an available room in order to impose extra charges. The tone suggests monetising convenience which we weren't particularly happy about.
After checked-in around 5pm. we noticed dirty plates on the floor left near the lift area. What was more concerning was that these plates were still there in the same spot the next morning when we checked out. This raised questions about cleanliness and hygiene, especially in shared spaces. In addition, the soundproofing could be improved. Noise from children crying near the lift was clearly audible, and due to the hotel's proximity to the airport, airplane noise could also be heard. This may be a concern for light sleepers or guests seeking a quieter stay.
While the room and overall stay were generally good, these experiences affected our impression.
VVanessa_899Pro: Room is very spacious, comfy beds, strong water pressure, comes with bathtub & toilet amenities, bathrobe & clean towels, diff TV channels available, stable WiFi. Good location with ample car parks available. Swimming pool is great, kids love it!
Con: Not sparkly clean, just fine, pillows have stains if covers are removed, car park elevators & hotel room elevators are separated, AC just okay, not that cold, external windows are dirty, kinda run down a little bit, still have rooms for improvement as an “upscale/premium” hotel chain.
TTetyana B.Overall it was a nice stay. The hotel is in a perfect location and it’s very cosy and peaceful. Reception staff was friendly and helpful. I was accommodated in a nice room with a pool and sea view. Faiz Haslan has also shared some information about the places to visit around, which was very helpful. Breakfasts were very nice, and there was a good food variety. Chinese New Year Eve’s dinner was excellent, great food variety and delicious. It would be good to have wifi available in the room and not only in the public areas.

KKhairul Bariah ShaifulbahriI stayed at a Junior Suite which was quite spacious. There were two TVs, one is a smart Tav (albeit a small one)
There is a cute bath tub, which was nice. But the drainage was interesting as the water from bath tub made its way to the shower room.
Hot water was satisfactory, and strong.
The air cond goes directly only to the living room, it does not go to the bedroom so it took a while for us to feel the aircond on the bed. I felt the aircond was not cold, at one point of time, the maintenance person said to me, 'this temperature is ok'. He should be trained to bring a thermometer to determine the temperature, not using his feeling (IMO).
Breakfast was all right, the food was tasty enough. My constructive feedback is; please use butter instead of margarine for bread, there is a big difference between hard boiled and soft boiled eggs, and please make sure the coffee is hot.
The staff were friendly and flexible to our request for late check out (we requested late check out at 1 pm).
ZZulu TravellerEasy location halfway between Kuching airport and city centre. Very friendly guy at the reception speaks English with a US accent.
The room itself was clean and comfortable. No complaints.
Breakfast the choice was very limited. But what they had was pretty tasty. No coffee machine, sadly.
Overal very adequate for the price they charge.
GGuest UserThere was an issue with the air conditioner. Other than that, everything was good, but some rooms didn’t have a hair dryer or a fridge. However, I was impressed because the maintenance team asked if I wanted to change rooms and directly contacted the receptionist, who immediately allowed us to do so.
