If you're after a no-frills, business-first stay in Kuching, Raia Hotel gets the job done. Rooms are surprisingly spacious for the price (RM458 for 2 nights—yes, really), making it a solid pick for short work trips or budget-conscious travelers. The view? Let's just say the ongoing construction outside isn’t exactly postcard material. But if you're mostly indoors or in meetings, it won’t bother you much. Location-wise, it’s about a 20-minute Grab ride to the city center—not ideal, but manageable given the affordability. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise: local staples like kolo mee and nasi lemak hit the spot. Overall, it’s not a resort, but it doesn’t pretend to be. For the price, space, and decent local breakfast, I’d come back again—just maybe not for the scenery.

The room was comfortable and all the necessary amenities are provided. There was also a nice pool on the top floor that offered a nice view far away. The location of the hotel was pretty good as it was near a couple of local coffeeshop that serves nice delicious local breakfast kolo mee. A short grab ride around 4-6rm away was chinatown that we explored. This was a short trip to attend a friend’s wedding dinner. Hence the exploration was short n simple. We shall stay here again if we come back to kuching for our next trip.

The hotel is centrally located in the heart of Miri city, right in front of the Seahorse Waterfront. My room, which was upgraded as my original booking was full, faced the river and offered a stunning view, especially during sunrise and sunset—a gesture I truly appreciated. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, particularly with the added benefit of 24-hour gym access. The gym facilities and equipment were impressive compared to those in other hotels I’ve experienced. I will definitely return, not only for the excellent amenities and facilities but also for the outstanding service provided by the staff in taking care of their guests.

Very good counter service . Our original booking was city view , we requested and the lady is happily upgraded us to River view, it was such a wonderful experience. Breakfast is good. Sadly it’s was a holiday in Malaysia when we were there, so restaurant is packed with people. Today I managed to use their gym., it was excellent, gym is well equipped with all the necessary equipments. Will definitely come back again next time .

Ideally located 1km to Vivacity mall; food cafes n Mita bakery are in d front shop lots . Highly recommend to eat at nearby 'Darling hotpot' whose vast menu n friendly service leave a good taste on our palates. Sadly, our room 309 has quite a few issues: 1. Door handle is hard to press down to enter room 2. Noisy bathroom door hinges need oiling 3. Ventilation fan in bathroom not working 4. Room floor needs vacuuming, found hair n snacks fm previous guests However, I will stil give a full 5 stars for the friendliness and service oriented staff which are the pride of 56 Hotel. Btw, this is our 2nd stay in 56 Hotel. Will try their new block in our next visit.

The room is nice. Location wise also great. center, close to malls, just beside the road. everything there is great except the parking. which is a big turn off to me. They only allowed one time in and out, if you want to go in and out more than one time, you have to pay! then the worst part is, u have to queue for VERY long time to get car parked.they have fancy 'multi-storey' parking like in Japan, which was supposed to be convenient but yeah not for them. to get it parked i t took 30mins and so does to get it back.

I stayed at Tower A during my recent visit. Overall, the stay was satisfactory , but there are areas that require improvement. The room itself was comfortable and clean but the wall paint was peeling and should be maintained better. On the first day , there was no water supply for about an hour. While the maintenance team managed to resolved it, it was inconvenient and could have been handled more promptly. Asides from these issue, the service was polite, and the stay was generally fine, but attention to upkeep and facility reliability would make the experience much better.

pros: - bed/pillow very comfy!! - spacious room - clean - smart tv - have mini fridge - eatery place within walking distance just behind hotel, hotel also have in house cafe cons - showerhead attached together with bath tub, water can get messy and a bit slippery, wished they have seperate space for shower - wifi slow - room a bit dark as they use yellow lighting overall ok, access card a bit troublesome if you dont know how to use rating: 8/10

Front desk staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Room was spacious and clean. Nice and spacious bathroom with plenty of clean towels and amenities. Breakfast buffet spread was nice and varied. The curries available were all delicious and the roti jalal was a huge hit! Must try!
