After opening the window in the afternoon, we noticed a lot of insects on the rooftop outside. We informed the hotel, and they assured us it would be resolved by the time we returned from dinner. I'm not sure if winters here aren't cold, but the duvet was extremely thin – essentially just a light blanket sandwiched between two sheets. While it was clean, it felt quite unfamiliar. The hotel also doesn't provide any disposable amenities, so guests need to bring their own. The next morning, there was a three-minute power outage around 8 AM. Later, at 9:30 AM, when we tried to go downstairs, we discovered the elevators weren't working – another power cut. We waited for fifteen minutes, but the power was still out. We asked the cleaning staff nearby, but they couldn't provide any information. We had no choice but to carry our luggage down over twenty flights of stairs. Fortunately, the ground floor exit was accessible; otherwise, once you exit a floor via the fire escape, you can't get back in! I wouldn't recommend the hotel's breakfast. There weren't many options, and due to the power outage, several items weren't available. It was just enough to quickly fill our stomachs. The coffee wasn't freshly ground either; it was from a dispenser. For two adults and one child, it cost over ninety Australian dollars, which was definitely not worth it. The power didn't return until after 10:30 AM, right when we were checking out. Firefighters at the entrance were giving stickers to children and told us to leave quickly. We promptly gathered our belongings and departed. There's a train station right below the hotel, and it's reasonably close to the sea. The immediate area isn't very lively, but you can reach more bustling areas with plenty of dining options within two or three train stops.
I recently stayed at the Dorsett Hotel and was thoroughly impressed by the cleanliness throughout the property. From the lobby to the rooms, everything was spotless and well-maintained. The housekeeping staff did an exceptional job my room was cleaned daily with attention to detail, fresh towels were always available, and the bedding felt crisp and fresh.
Even common areas like the elevators, hallways, and dining spaces were immaculate. It’s clear the hotel takes hygiene and presentation seriously, which made my stay feel comfortable and worry-free. If cleanliness is a top priority for you, the Dorsett Hotel absolutely delivers.
Highly recommended!

This hotel truly exceeded my expectations! The lobby is grand and elegant, the room is spacious and bright, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offer a superb view. The bedding was incredibly soft and comfortable, ensuring I slept soundly until I naturally woke up. The bathroom features a convenient wet/dry separation, and all the toiletries are premium brands. The staff were incredibly warm and attentive, proactively helping with our luggage and offering excellent recommendations for local restaurants. The breakfast spread was extensive, with a sophisticated and exquisitely prepared Chinese and Western buffet. The gym and swimming pool facilities are new, well-maintained, and were never crowded. The location is also incredibly convenient, within walking distance to the main shopping district and the metro station. It offers superb value for money, and I highly recommend it!

We stayed on a high floor, and the views from the hotel were absolutely stunning! The kitchen was a fantastic amenity, allowing us to cook our own meals, which we really appreciated. The in-unit washer and dryer were incredibly convenient, allowing us to do laundry whenever needed.
One minor issue was that the duvet cover and the duvet itself often separated, creating a tangled mess.
Unfortunately, a small blanket my son brought with him went missing. We suspect it was accidentally bundled up and taken away by housekeeping when they tidied the bed one day. It wasn't found by check-out. I've already reported this to the front desk and also emailed customer service. I sincerely hope to hear an update soon, as it's a pink blanket with white bunny patterns.
The hotel itself was very clean and well-maintained. It’s located on a lively street with plenty of shops, restaurants, and everything you need within walking distance. 24-hour parking was available, so I could leave my car even after check-out and pick it up later, which was very convenient. There were massage shops and delicious food options nearby, and the train station was just a short walk away. Overall, I had a very satisfying stay.
The only thing that annoyed me was that it’s a 5 star property, and with that I expect them to provide a bath robe (for use on property) and complimentary toiletries in the bathroom.
The only bathrobe that I saw was one you needed to purchase for around $130.
The toiletries were bulk pump bottles.
The hotel lacked the 5 star touch.
Parking was difficult at Noosa Beach, so I left my car in the hotel parking lot and took an Uber! The location is good because it's not far! However, it is a bit disappointing that I had to pay a rather high price to stay at the hotel during the peak season.
*: The hotel is well located, close to Airlie Beach's main attractions, such as] and with easy access to restaurants, shops and transport.
I highly recommend the Magnus Hotel to anyone visiting Airlie Beach. The privileged location and comfort made my stay unforgettable. I would definitely stay here again.

GGuest UserStaff , friendly and helpful. Great location. Unit clean and well appointed. Overnight parking s bit expensive, especially if your staying a few nights. $35 a night.
GGuest UserI was very satisfied. There is a shop near the hotel, which is very helpful. Due to its location, it is a place where you do not have to eat. The hotel employees are very nice.
GGuest UserHad to wait while one of our 2 rooms was made up but the room that was supposed to have been made up had only had the beds done. Toothpaste splattered across the bathroom mirror, toilet unscrubbed, no face washers, hand towel or bath mat though there were fresh towels on the beds.
The kitchen hadn't been done as there was no dish cloth or liquid for cleaning only 2 tea cups, no mugs and the fridge contained half eaten yoghurt, a full bag of grapes and a 1/4 of rotten watermelon its juices all crusted under it.
The well frosted freezer contained a partially eaten iceblock frosted into the freezer, obviously it had been there long enough to be frosted to it.
The kitchen had not been stocked with tea coffee sugar or most importantly for me milk (being a little fussy I bring my own tea and coffee)
I have doubts about if it was vaccumed due to the pills as several other items on the carpet. I mention the pills as we had young children with us.
The aircon remote had no batteries or back to it but we just swopped out the batteries for the T.V. remote
The cleaner sent to remedy this politely made it clear that she wasn't the one who'd made up the room. She cleaned the mirror restocked the face washers, hand towel and bath mat, removed the food from the fridge and freezer and upon request gave me a cloth for me to scrub off the crusted watermelon juice.
The beds were clean (I checked) with fresh sheets and comfortable. They were clear that they expected courtesy to others by not making alot of noise late at night or slamming doors. The pool area could have been cleaned. I don't know where the dirt came from but it was there when we arrived and still there when we left. The lobby chairs I wouldn't sit in, needed a good scrub with soap and water.
They unlocked the freezer at the Cafe late one night for us to buy ice cream. The staff were helpful and polite. The kids loved playing ping pong and swimming.
AAnonymous UserThe room rate is cheap. I booked a cheaper hotel because I had to get up early to catch the flight. The only drawback was that I was given a disabled room on the lower floor. I had to get up early the next day so I didn't ask for a room change. The floor was high and I could smell the fumes from the restaurant downstairs. I recommend booking a room on a higher floor.
AAnonymous UserHad a wonderful stay at cairns queen court! All the staff were super friendly. They always try their very best to help with our questions and provide suggestions to our trip planning! However, beware of the morning (ard 6:30am) house keeping if you wanna sleep in~ overall, I enjoyed staying there and had lot of fun in Cairns!
GGuest UserHave stayed here a few times now and always had a nice stay. Clean and comfortable. Nice addition to have the pool too although there isn’t much seating around the pool. Staff are friendly and location is perfect. The only thing I have to moan about is the deposit - even when I asked it does not get refunded, I have had to go through my bank every time to get the deposit back, maybe I’ve just been unlucky but it’s never been refunded to me from the hotel, I’ve always had to raise a query with my bank to get it back.

PPHILLIP JAMESThe Mantra Hotel has outstanding location. It is directly in front of the Woolworths supermarket - the best option in central Cairns. It's also virtually opposite (the esplanade side)the lagoon public beachfront swimming pool. Finally it's just a 5 minute walk from Cairns Cruise Terminal, with outstanding day trips to Green Island, Fitzroy Island and the Reef. I booked a sea view room. When you enter the room, you don't see the ocean, but a building across the road. However, the view from the balcony was amazing. The balcony overlooks the main features of lagoon on the sea front. During the day it is great view - the lagoon pools and sea in the background. At night you cannot see the sea (as to be expected) but you have the amazing lagoon lights, which makes it very desirable and even romantic. Our room was at the end of block, which overlooks a shopping mall (no car noise) - looking right from the balcony is the lagoon view and looking left is a mountain view. However, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm the sun comes directly into the balcony area, which means it unusable until sun sets. Of course if you don't mind baking in the sun on the balcony, this is not really a concern. The room itself is pretty basic. The mini fridge of OK and TV has domestic channels only - no cable TV for BBC/CNN. The bathroom is of a good size. There is combined shower & bath. However, when using the shower, it can slightly flood this bathroom. A shower curtain may be desirable because the glass panel is not sufficient enough. At $225 per night this hotel was not cheap and you can better deals by coming in the off-season OR going bit further down the esplanade, and choosing another hotel. The Mantra does have its own pool and it is wonderfully heated, with normal deck chairs you would expect at 4 star hotel. However, the pool gets very little natural sunlight, because it of its location between 2 buildings. Overall, the hotel has amazing location, and it is still recommended, despite the shortcomings mentioned. My final note: When we checked in, I was impressed with the level of service provided by the receptionist. She had a very welcome attitude and a wonderful personality.
HHydenI loved my stay 😊 it was so pretty and clean. The lady at the front was really polite and help full. Great place to stay every things so close and a beautiful view.
MMIssTallaLIt is very convenient to be next door to the mall. The environment is very good, not far from the city. Have the opportunity to choose again
