The Fenyang Road Campus of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music has 5 stunning old houses, which I personally consider to be the epitome of Shanghai's old houses. Three of them are at the Huaihai Middle Road entrance, and the other two are at the Fenyang Road entrance. If you're worried about getting lost on campus and missing one, you can enter through both gates and see them immediately upon entering. You definitely won't miss them. Two of the old houses on Huaihai Middle Road face the street, so you can take photos without entering the campus. 1️⃣ Music Castle (Photos 1-5), a German Renaissance garden residence, located at 1131 Huaihai Middle Road. Photo 5 was taken on Huaihai Middle Road. 2️⃣ Meiyu Building (Photos 6-9), a British-style pseudo-three-story garden residence, located at 1189 Huaihai Middle Road. 3️⃣ City Concert Hall (Photos 10-13), a French Renaissance-style building used for concerts, located at 1209 Huaihai Middle Road. 4️⃣ School History Building (Photos 14-16), French Renaissance style, located at 20 Fenyang Road. 5️⃣ Expert Building (Photos 17-20), a German-style garden residence with a Mansard double-pitched roof, located at 20 Fenyang Road. The exterior facades of the houses are free to visit. Entering the buildings requires the right timing (during music events) and an appointment.
