Lantian~Shuilu Temple

🌱Shuilu Temple is located at the foot of Wangshun Mountain in Puhua Town, 10 kilometers east of Lantian County, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. It is a famous temple from the Six Dynasties, known for preserving ancient, exquisite, and rare colored sculptures, and is praised as the 'Second Dunhuang of China'. 🌱The colored sculptures of Shuilu Temple are its biggest highlight, with more than 3,700 statues in total, divided into four parts: the two walls of the main compartment, the south and north gable walls, and the two eaves walls. These sculptures are rich in content, the most famous being the 'First Colored Continuous Wall Sculpture in the World'. It integrates painting, round carving, relief, and engraving techniques, with more than 3,700 statues of people and all things in nature embedded on the walls, beams, and columns. Each piece is vivid and lifelike, presenting a magnificent artistic effect in a limited space. 🌱Transportation Starting from Xi'an, it takes about an hour to drive there, with a parking fee of 5 yuan. On both sides of the scenic road, there are local villagers selling snacks such as Shenxian noodles and Heluo noodles, as well as incense, which seems to be 10 yuan. The scenic area is not large and can be toured in twenty to thirty minutes. Currently, the scenic area does not require reservations or tickets.
