I originally booked this hotel on agoda, however as the reception told us that they cant find our booking as we reached them, and she told us that agoda made a mistake on the address of the hotel I booked (which is their sister hotel, on Hobson St) under their address! At last we made a new booking to stay here with trip.com, as the condition of the other Hotel Grand Chancellor was HORRIBLY OLD! Hope the hotel management will fix this issue with agoda ASAP!!
Otherwise, this new Chancellor hotel is perfect!
No air con but we knew that and it was ok for that time of year, come summer it would good.
Bathroom was a hazard ⚠️ health and safety nightmare…. Shower head moved back quickly therefore flooding the floor of the bathroom. Big drop to get out of the bath - could slip on water .. of stand and hurt yourself on big door stop
The hotel is just everything you need in Auckland. We booked a one-bedroom suite, with a double bed and a sofa bed that can fit us 3 well. There are enough amenities for travellers abroad from washing/dryer machine, microwave, oven, fridge, stove, kitchenware, dining table. Housekeeping is daily so this helps clear the rubbish in the room much. Staff is helpful and you get to use anytime fitness for free (we didn't use it though).
Walking distance to 24/7 shop, Woolworths, Sky Tower, Les Mills Auckland City, Britomart, University of Auckland.
The only downsides for us are unstable hot shower and air con is a bit stingy. But during our stay it's cold enough that we don't need Aircon.
We'll definitely come back here if we travel to Auckland.
Excellent location, luxurious hotel, comfortable beds. Staff were friendly, helpful and went the extra mile to accommodate our requests. Highly recommended. Restaurant had delicious, affordable meals.
Booked a last-minute stay at the Copthorne Hotel Auckland City for one night on May 29 in a Superior King Room.
The location is very central, which was perfect for my needs – easy access to the CBD, waterfront, and transport. Staff at the 24-hour front desk were friendly and check-in was smooth. Having private parking was a bonus. That said, the room felt a bit tired and in need of minor repairs – dated fittings and general wear and tear were noticeable. It was fine for a short stay, but could use some refreshing to match expectations.Good for a night if you need a central, no-fuss option in Auckland.
We had a great 4 night stay. Very friendly staff, absolutely the best food served at the restaurant I can highly recommend this hotel.to anyone looking to stay in north Auckland
The room was extremely clean and we had a great view.
Thank you.
Everything about the stay was perfect — except for the very poor Wi-Fi. There’s no kitchen facility, which may be inconvenient for long-term stays, but considering the price and the services provided, it’s still an economical choice for this location.
The hotel’s location is excellent — just steps away from a 24/7 convenience store. However, I strongly advise against shopping there: prices are extremely high. For example, a bottle of water that costs $4.50 NZD at the shop is available for just $0.99 at the local market. The fruit selection there is also disappointing in both quality and value. I wouldn’t recommend relying on that particular store — even though it’s close, there are better and much cheaper options on the opposite side of the street.
As for the hotel itself — you get exactly what you pay for, and I’d happily recommend it to others. In fact, it’s the most budget-friendly accommodation option in this area.
Arrived at the hotel late and there was no lots available. Same situation the next morning but the receptionist was kinder to let me park at the lot near the carpark shutter. Super grateful for that as I have other belongings in the car that I couldn't shift to the hotel room. The hotel aircon cooler wasn't checked before our check-in, so the water leaked from the cooler on our first night of stay. On our second night, we approached another receptionist to ask about laundromat nearby the hotel. She guided us to a 24hr laundromat that was non-existent. It was a wasted trip. And no, I will not be back.

GGuest UserThey couldn't find my booking but eventually not sorted with management then this effected breakfast next day luckily trip.com provides receipt and shoes that I paid for breakfast included.
The bedroom walls needed to be cleaned il.one of the beds sheets is so stained and one had bird faeces luckily the other bed sheets seemed ok so we stayed in that
The bathroom was clean but the towels had marks on them so we ended up using the hair dryer to dry ourselves .
TT40 familyDont provide toothbrushes or other essentials which are normally in top tier hotels. Staff were lovely and allowed us to check in early and accomodated us when we had problems booking carpark.
If your renting a car think about parking. Paid parking at the airport and so many issues everytime we entered or exited. Carpark is a decent walk away from the hotel. So checking out means lugging your luggage through bushes. If trying to get fatest way to carpark. Overall ok stay but parking is a big inconvenience.
王王All aspects of the hotel are acceptable, but please pay attention to the issue of refund
A deposit of 150 yuan is required at check-in. When you swipe your credit card, you are asked whether you want to spend or pre-authorize.
Check out to confirm that there is no loss deduction, and no refund will be seen after five days, call to ask, saying that the operation failed when refunding, and ask me if I have another card
I didn’t argue too much and provided another card number, but obviously, my card is always easy to use, and why not contact the customer if the refund fails? They have phone and email
Guests staying please keep the check-in date and room number, so as to avoid similar situations, you can make it clear
XXiaoliangxuechangThe hotel boasts an elegant ambiance, well-equipped facilities, and attentive, thoughtful service, ensuring guests feel incredibly comfortable. The rooms are spotlessly clean, with soft, plush bedding, making for an exceptional stay. The breakfast spread is rich and varied, with delicious options that cater to diverse tastes. Its prime location offers convenient transportation, with an abundance of attractions and dining options nearby. The staff are warm, friendly, and highly responsive; their meticulous and exceptionally detailed service is truly impressive. Whether you're traveling for business or leisure, this place is an excellent choice! The value for money is outstanding; it's truly worth every penny, and I highly recommend it to every traveler! I look forward to staying here again to experience this warmth and professionalism once more!
GGuest UserFriendly staff, one of the employees gave us some wrong information but it didn’t hinder our experience, the staff member that drove us to the airport was very friendly and punctual, very happy about a free airport shuttle service and good value for money hotel, would stay there again 😊
GGuest Userhad to book a lastmin overnight stay due to flight delay. Can take yellow bus or an Uber to the hotel. Price is the same if you are 2 adults. Note that no supermarket near the hotel but the restaurant inside is surprisingly good and affordable. No complaint.
Room is just standard and clean.
DDoct MOHSIN ALIDelux room is perfect, staffs are cooperative, decent environment, highly recommended. Positive points pick/drop services are available.
Suggestions: try to check the room as queen room have shower tap issues ,small issues but hopefully solve it; also provide water , spoons in each room. Overall rate 5/5.
DDeevanyah FrostWe just had an unexpectedly delightful experience at the Waiheke Island Motel, so much so that we added another night because we simply couldn't get enough of the place! Our stay began with a minor hitch: arriving late in the evening to find our pre-booked studio room was locked. However, the way the night manager and the team handled this was truly remarkable. They quickly resolved the issue by giving us a significant, stress-free upgrade to a spacious whole house with four bedrooms instead of our original studio. This immediate, generous response demonstrated exceptional hospitality and turned a potential frustration into the highlight of our trip. The motel's location is ideal; it offers a wonderfully quiet and peaceful atmosphere, yet it's in very close proximity to both the shops and the beach. We appreciated the on-site pool and the spa options, and the minute's walk down to the community Saturday market was a fantastic bonus. Our only piece of constructive feedback relates to the spa itself—unfortunately, the cleanliness was not up to standard, which was a slight disappointment. Despite the minor issue with the spa, the exceptional service, comfortable accommodation, and prime location mean we had a fantastic trip. Crucially, the price was quite reasonably priced compared to other places on Waiheke, offering excellent value for money. We will definitely return to Waiheke Island Motel!
GGuest UserI was very happy with my stay here as they offer a free pick up and drop off to Auckland Airport which was my main reason for choosing this place.
The rooms were a very good size and in fairly good condition and I enjoyed the continental breakfast in the morning for just over £8.
GGuest UserI stayed here again visiting my son. The location, so close to the unilodge building is really convenient for me. I asked for a quiet room as there were noisy people in the hotel last time I stayed. The room I got was tucked away in a corner on the 9 th floor, so quiet and I could even see the water. I will continue to stay there when I visit. A trip to the theatre this time.
