The service was impeccable and my room was outstanding - extremely comfortable and beautiful. The food was so delicious - I would visit again just for the evening meals ! The onsen was lovely but would be difficult to access for people with mobility issues .
The hotel is right next to JR Kochi, very convenient. This hotel looks very new, staff is nice, super great nippon breakfast, the room is very hygiene, shower head is strong, air-con is good.
The room is very clean and space is very good in Japan standard. The front desk staff are super helpful.
I wanted to open a bottle of wine and didn't have a wine opener. When I asked the front desk staff. He tried his best to help and unfortunately there was not a wine opener and I borrowed a beer opener instead. Just a few minutes later, I managed to open the wine using the beer opener and I went down to the front desk to return the opener. When lift door opened, I saw the front staff wanted to get into the lift with a screwdriver and 2 screws in his hand. I was really so touched when I saw him not giving up and still wanted to help me. I am totally zero to Japanese, and I can't remember the gentleman's name unfortunately. I really want to say a big thank you to the gentleman who tried his best to help me.
The location of the hotel is good with a supermarket and a convenient shop next door.
There a massage chair in the room for guests to use at FOC.
I you drive, there is car park on-site and it's free.
Compared to other hotels in the inn, it is generally clean, and if you make a reservation, your grandfather will send you to the restaurant at dinner.
I'm glad that cup ramen, mineral water or ice cream is served.
The hotel is in a very remote place. If you don't drive by yourself, it takes 15 minutes by bus. There are only a few buses a day, so transportation is inconvenient.
The room is on the underground floor, facing the trees at the back. The interior of the house is decorated in wood color, but the bathroom is in the style of an old-style hot spring hotel. The hotel has indoor and outdoor hot springs, but the outdoor hot springs are not hot enough.
Due to its remote location and few street lights around, you can see many stars when you look up.
The room is very large, gave a 5-person room, although the hotel is very old, but there are すき houses and convenience stores nearby, which is convenient for walking all over the road.
A very modern hotel with happy colors all around. Room is spacious and comfy. Breakfast offers an array of choices. Even the souvenirs shop at the lobby offers products of great designs. Overall ambience gives a wonderful feel.
The natural hot springs were amazing.
There was a TV in the sauna, the cold water bath was nice and chilled, there were indoor and outdoor baths, a luxury hair dryer, and you could choose from four different kinds of ice cream when you got out of the bath.
It felt so good that of course I took a morning bath as well ❤️
The bed was comfortable and the size was just right for one person.
I'll definitely come back.
Areaone Hotel in Kochi is located about 10-15 minutes' walk from the JR station, which is easy to find. There are no facilities downstairs, so you have to walk more than ten minutes for food and shopping. The hotel provides bicycles.
The hotel room is very small, 16M2, and can only open one suitcase. The room key is not easy to use, the bathtub is not clean, and there is no place to put cleaning supplies. The bed was ok and slept comfortably. At $543 a night, there should be better options.
This was a cheap stay, the room was clean and the location was very good. There are restaurants, supermarkets, etc. within a few minutes walk. Some rooms have beautiful scenery outside the window and a very good value accommodation experience.

LLZHWhen we first arrived the front desk told us that we reserved a smoking room. In the trip.com booking it does not say so though. The front desk said all similar rooms for non-smoking were booked out.
We went up to the room but it smelled so bad that we asked agin for a different room showing them the booking. According to the hotel the booking was not directly forward to them by trip.com but by a different service therefore it varied from our actual booking. They were nice enough to give us a different room which was non-smoking. Unfortunately the room still smelled strange - at least no smoke smell.
Additionally there was almost no hot water coming out from the tap. In the photo the hot water was fully turned on.
Another issue was the parking. The one night stay fee was 1000 Yen (not for 24h). We checked out at 11 a.m. but decided to eat lunch in town and leave the car at the hotel parking. We took out the car at 2 pm and had to pay an additional fee of 1200 yen.
GGuest UserSince there are not many triple rooms available, I chose this hotel. The hotel is in a good location, only a 5-7 minute walk from the JR station. It has complete basic facilities, the staff is friendly, and there is a Shimanto agricultural product supermarket next door.
CChanCatherineClean hotel with amazing with of the Pacific Ocean from inside the room. The staffs are very helpful and offered to carry my luggage up the stairs. However due to language barrier, did not tell me that I can see the ocean and sunrise from my room. I missed the beautiful view as the curtains are close and did not discover the view until I was about to checkout. It is a regret as I believe the sunrise would be stunning.
Would highly recommend booking at the restaurant in advance, as there is no much to eat and shop nearby. The restaurant is small scaled, so might not be able to cater last minute orders.
Overall a very nice stay, given the budget. Suitable for those who are on driving.
GGuest Userthe hotel room is nice , best shower even in Japan. but the sink is too low, good size for the child , too low for an adult the hotel has swimming pool, the pool is belong to the gym , normally require the membership ,but you just need to show the counter that you are staying in the hotel they will let you in. if you dont have the swimming suit, they have the swimming suit to borrow which was nice . they don't really speak English, that was a little tough to communicate. they have laundry machine at 3rd floor to use. the breakfast was acceptable , if you are foreigner, like western food , they have croissant, chocolate bread, salad, bacon. it was a good stay.

SSerendipiterClose to JR station and booked a Japanese tatami room. There were about 9 tatami rooms, so I was lucky to stay for 2 nights. It was nice to have a large bath. In particular, the staff were very friendly and gave a lot of advice and help on the trip. The only inconvenience was the stairs at the entrance of the hotel.
GGuest UserFood quality is very good with a wide range of food for selection. The service of front desk staff is very helpful. The staffちさprovided excellent service who helped us to book a table and follow up closely even outside office hour. I would recommend friends to stay in this hotel.i chose Ocean view room with a nice scenery.
GGuest UserThe room is small but clean. Breakfast is semi-self-service. You can freely eat drinks, staple food, fruits, soups, vegetable salads and some local specialties. You can choose one main dish, which is very good. The only thing I didn't feel good about was the day I checked in. Due to the typhoon and heavy rain, I arrived at the hotel at 12 o'clock and it was not the check-in time. I asked the front desk if there was a cleaned room that I could check in first so that I could change my wet clothes. The front desk clerk I checked the computer and said that I could pay 1,000 yen for early check-in. Although the amount was not much, I felt uncomfortable. In the past, when checking in in Europe, if there was a clean room, I would usually give the room card in advance. The hotel follows the rules but lacks human touch
