This AC Hotel Birmingham is situated in a good, convenient location in city centre. Numerous restaurants and cafes nearby.
Staff was very polite and helpful.
Room is clean, comfy and reasonably sized, but the mattress is a little bit too soft for me personally.
Highly recommended for traveller !!!
The hotel’s parking lot became over crowded due to an event. Meaning we had to park in the airport’s car park and walk back.
Unfortunately the location of the hotel means that we were very close to the take off runway and we could hear planes all the time, the windows and walls were not soundproofed enough.
Lastly the pillows were rather uncomfortable as they were much too empty, felt like a ballon instead of an actual pillow.
Otherwise the room and the hotel were clean and the room service was actually surprisingly pleasant. The staff we encountered was friendly and helpful.
The food they served was really tasty as well.
Service was as always very good. Room was ridiculously hot and we couldn’t turn the heating off unless we turned all the power off including the lights.
They brought us a fan though and we couldn’t have expected more as it was very late at night by the time we got back to the room
The toilet is not very sanitary and cannot get in water in the bathroom You have to use a floor mop to push the water back and it takes at least an hour to get the water. I stayed for two nights, but on the first night I found two towels that were quite dirty, so I called them. I asked for two relatively clean towels, but after waiting for 40 minutes, no one changed them, so I took them myself. The staff who answered the phone should have forgotten. Maybe they forgot all the guests' problems while chatting!
Convenient and good location. Closed to HSBC and library. Service is good. The only bad thing is that the noise of closing the front door is noisy which is annoying in the morning
A hotel that’s perfect for public transportation and by car: it’s this. On the square opposite Coventry Rail Station along the main road with drop off access.
Part of the IHG brand, the hotel is stuffed with modern, quirky colourful decor including a silver open top Austin Healy in the reception area. The ground floor is one big open space that navigates from lobby to bar to restaurant/breakfast area and an exit where the outdoors semi enclosed seating area is. It’s Britain, so no heaters or covers but it’s an acceptable smoking area!
Upon checking in we received a 20% voucher off all the F&B which doesn’t happen often. The kitchen was closed by 9 but we and our friends enjoyed a drink in the bar area.
The room was super lovely, all brand new, super clean and nicely decorated. Personalised smart TV but the smart function didn’t work alas! Overall: a wonderful experience!

Lovely location walking distance to bullring. It was easy to get Uber as well. The apartment itself had everything we needed. It was very clean and staff were friendly. Would recommend for a centrally located accommodation on a budget.
Lovely staff, young and rushed off their feet, stayed for one night, stayed before 2018. Confused I paid for the privilege to stay in the hotel to attend the horse racing and watch Madness. Yet was confused that the hotel let anyone in to use the bar, from the race course when there was ample bars in the race ground for anyone not staying at the hotel. After Madness finished the only bar open is the hotel bar, because show is finished 10.00 home time and they want you out if you’re not staying at the hotel, which is fine, but if you are staying in the hotel as many of us were , bar was full, rammed so of course people wanted to sit outside because there are tables for the hotel outside but security had been told not to let anyone outside with drinks, how stupid is this, I understand you want to close the race course, so you need to restrict people from using the hotel if they aren’t staying there, and don’t be greedy and take peoples money knowing your going to be 60 people plus in a reception bar area, tiny thing like covdi happen few years back you should only serve hotel guest because that’s what you are, a hotel. And help the poor bar staff, young girl on her own, blokes walking out with 3/4 pints not paying and she’s on her own can’t chase them. Ps didn’t stay for breakfast too expensive, I was going to but even though it had increased in price quite a bit, but remembered it was cold last time we stayed.

Great
BBumblebee06I stayed at the Leonardo Royal Hotel Birmingham for 3 nights and had a fantastic experience. The hotel is in a perfect location—central, convenient, and great for exploring the city. It has a luxurious feel throughout, with modern decor and a very clean environment.
The staff were lovely—always polite, helpful, and welcoming, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The room was well-equipped with great amenities including coffee pods, tea, and coffee, as well as both still and sparkling water provided daily (a bottle of each).
A big plus was the in-room entertainment setup—you can easily connect your phone to the TV via the hotel Wi-Fi to stream your favourite shows on apps like Netflix and Prime Video.
Overall, I was really impressed with the comfort, service, and attention to detail. I’d definitely recommend Leonardo Royal Hotel Birmingham for a stylish and relaxing city break.
GGuest UserHotel is not in a bad location for trips out…
But the hotel needs a lot of improvements! The breakfast buffet you are left waiting for them to replenish food items , you have to keep asking staff where are the cups for tea as none replaced there was queues because of the location of the toaster, be careful if you ask for water to be replaced in room as I was charged but then got a refund after complaining..the executive room was good but I know the standard rooms are not great. The staff were good but there needs better organisation. The pool area dated and no set time they seem to pick and choose open close times. We had quite a few issues not all mentioned here which we told reception about we was not happy and noticed other customers complaining.. we would not stay again and certainly not 4 star 3 at most .. can’t comment on spa treatments as did not use but looking at the spa I’m sure there are better ones around. Golf course 9 hole in good condition but outside hotel area need tidying up bit scruffy.
TTomieMercure Birmingham west hotel is easy to locate, easy to check in, I and my husband loves the facilities, the pool, the gym, steam room and sauna, it was my first experience in the steaming room, the jacuzzi spa was amazing, the hotel is neat, I try to change my room but there were lot of guest, I was communicated to about it and it was clear, we love the services including the amazing breakfasts buffet 🥰🥰
MMike LutzA very pleasant stay in a clean room with decent amenities. The bed was comfy and I didn’t hear noise from other guests, it was good to have blackout blinds too. The location was perfect for my conference and walking distance to the city centre (about 15 mins). The breakfast is decent and there are snacks and drinks available as well.

GGuest Userthe room is good enough for 3 persons, though the sofa beds are actually smaller than the photos. well equipped with 2 head cooking hobs, small fridge, dish washer, microwave with grill function and sufficient utensils, and also instant coffee were provided.
the water pressure of the shower is super good and water is hot enough but the toilet is a bit small, you have to hide just next to the toilet bowl then you have enough space to open the door.
The down side is the service of the reception & housekeeping team. After we got the room cards, we couldn't access to the room and needed to go down to ask the receptionist to fix the cards and come back to open the room. After entered the room, we found that the water in toilet sink didn't go, we asked the housekeeping staff who was just working at the next room to have a look at it but who said we needed to go to the receptionist (as there's no inter-room telephone, we have to go down again). Then the receptionist arranged another room which was downstairs for us.
We booked for 2 nights, when we came back to the hotel the next evening, the room cards didn't work, again. The receptionist claimed that it might be due to the cards being put together with the mobile phone that might damage the cards. However, we were sure the cards weren't put together with the phones!
It would be perfect if a small box of tissue could be provided.
GGuest UserA really good hotel which only fails to score higher for the following reasons.
The optional breakfast on the first morning of my stay was so good, and value for money, I booked for the following two mornings of my stay. Day two, again excellent quality of food and service.
Day three was a complete disappointment.
The cooked food was greasy and well passed it's best from the heated buffet.
Service from the staff was slow, tea was only luke warm.
If this had of been day one, I certainly wouldn't have booked again.
The room was equipped with everything I needed, tea and coffee, iron and board, additional fan and heating.
I felt the 40 inch TV was too large for the size of the room and it was placed on the dressing table which took up about 50% of the area.
The TV gad been ”adapted” to the usual ”Hotel Mode” settings and had very limited ”free” channels to view if compared to the standard terrestrial channels in the UK.
An online system was used to provide the available media and showed poor latency on several occasions.
A major negative being the system had no menu option to select the available stations.
Also, the room was not serviced during my three night stay. Not a big issue, but fresh toweling would have scored better.
This hotel could easily score better.
GGuest UserNice hotel. Booked the superior king room. Nice room with some issues.
The ceiling is quite low in the bathroom so when you’re standing in the bathtub, my head was quite close to the ceiling. I’m around 6 ft 2. The shower itself is quite good. There was a crack on the wall in the shower which needs to be fixed. Maybe installing a walk in shower would be better.
The room was otherwise clean and spacious.
They use two beds and stick it together to make one king size bed. Uncomfortable when sleeping as the beds tended to separate slightly when sleeping so you’re slightly sinking in the middle. They should have made this clearer. It would be much better if they have a proper king size bed.
The view was really nice from the room. Breakfast was extra and it was very good. It’s a buffet style breakfast.
Staff were friendly and accommodating.
Although I did t use it, the spa facilities were included in the price which is nice.
Lots of parking available and safe. The hotel close the gates at midnight but you can press the buzzer and they’ll let you in.
The hotel itself is a listed building so no lifts, but you can probably ask for help if with bags.
Hotel itself is beautiful. Would I visit again? Yes
GGuest UserThe beds were ultra comfortable and I had the best night of sleep I’ve had in weeks. Room was small but unless you’re planning on spending a lot of time in the room, it was perfect. Bathroom was great, very clean and had a rain shower head which I loved. They didn’t really provide any toiletries other than hand wash and body wash, I had to buy my own shampoo and conditioner. There’s also no fridge/microwave, but there was tea and coffee with a kettle provided. I would definitely recommend and I would stay again.
