A business-style hotel so suited for short stays. Rooms comfortable but compact, especially for a couple. Shower room ok, but bedroom felt cramped. Location ok, midway between the station and port with a 30 minute each way. Several restaurants, shopping malls etc around.
Let’s start with good things. There is little kitchen you can use. There is free tea. There are two showers and one toilet room near the former entrance. Washing machine is free. The place is opened 24 hours. Wifi is fine. The mat and pillow are comfy. English-friendly.
Now, some bad things. It seems that the place knew much better days. Now, as many others, it became a home for those who work, not travel. It means it is still noisy after 22:00 in the dorm room. Guys can turn on the lights and leave them on. Locker doors slamming, etc. A few tenants did not care about clearing shower after them, same with the toilet slippers that are mandatory but tenants use the ordinary ones. If you are sensitive for this, consider choosing another place or at least a private room.
There has air conditioner which was cool enough , good! only the drawback is some far away to take 20 minutes to JR station but very near the walking street. Bath room a bit of narrow. Appreciated even though medium size hotel but it has car packing lot itself ( located on the hotel's back street with staff to assist you ), so great indeed !
Excellent location, in the Kagoshimachuo station. Great price. Decent room, not cramped at all and space to lay out your luggage. Did not order breakfast. There are so many choices outside the hotel.
For driver, do note that the parking is chargeable at 1000yen per day at the designated parking areas operated by the hotel. The staff supporting the parking area was absolutely helpful, he ran over in his umbrella during rainy day to inform on the slot that was just freed up for parking and directed us to the parking lot. The hot spring is not recommended as there is only outdoor option and the place is open and poorly maintained with only plastic chairs and wooden divider. bathing suit is needed and chargeable at 500yen if borrow from the hotel. No bath robe was provided and no changing room at the place where hot spring is provided.
We booked a large room with a view of Sakurajima. There was a pot for cooking and a washing machine with drying function. Across the park next to the hotel, there is a supermarket where local residents buy vegetables. There is a lot of meat in it and the price is not expensive. We decided to buy some and fry it in the room. The hotel provides clean towels and empties the trash can every day. There is no other cleaning, but there is a small vacuum cleaner in the room. The disadvantage is that there is a smell of newly renovated materials in the corridor, and there is another strange smell in the room, but it can't be smelled after staying for a long time. In addition, the hygiene is relatively ordinary, and there is dust on the table. There are parking lots around, and the price is expensive. One night, it was charged 2200yan, and I changed to another parking lot next door, which was 1400yan. I didn't understand what the charging standard was. Some people don't accept the new version of 1000yan, but fortunately a local grandfather who passed by helped us change the money.
The location is great, next to the planetarium shopping street. Luggage can be stored during check-in and check-out. The price is cheap and the double room is large enough to barely fit two 24-inch suitcases!
Value for money. Simple yet sufficient. Clean n with all the necessary amenities. Beautiful view of Sakurajima mountain. Fully recommended if u are looking for a simple n comfortable stay
Very nice hotel! A good location is near the terminals, from where you can go to Sakurajima and Yakushima. Very friendly staff. A good breakfast to choose from. It is possible to use the laundry service. The room is clean and warm. Thank you very much. I'll come back.
The hotel lobby is very beautiful and comes with a parking lot (payment at the counter). There is a tram in front, so transportation is convenient. The counter staff is friendly and there are umbrellas to borrow when it rains when you go out.

Very Good
WWing3112We absolutely loved this stay and would recommend it to all travellers!
We booked the corner room. The room was well illuminated by natural light during the day and we could see the river from our room. At night we could even hear the water flowing. There were two western single beds but we asked for futons for the full Japanese experience and loved it! The room was spacious and clean. There was a bathtub in the bathroom but we used the public bath (male and female separated) which was amazing. The public bath was quiet and spacious and there was a sauna room. Breakfast was served during 7am -830am with a well set table as shown in the picture. The staff was super kind. Just note that the walls were thin and you should expect some noise but people here are generally used to keeping their voice down.
Another highlight is that you can take the bus of both the red and blue lines at the bus stop right in front of the hotel. (The blue line is for Shiratani Unsuikyo.). It is very convenient if you are not driving. The hotel is around 25 mins away from the ferry port and the walk there was pleasant and not difficult to find.
Yet another great thing about this place is that you can rent mountaineering gear here at a cheap price, including shoes and rain protection. We rented the shoes here at 1,xxx yen per person (forgot the exact price) and they were very useful. It was raining for almost the whole 5h hike for us and the shoes offered a good grip and were sufficiently waterproof. You can also find little souvenirs at their shop. Honestly, it's impeccable!
OOrez TsangThis is my first leisure trip in 2025. That's a vey good experience trip with my wife.
A modern and comfortable lobby lounge area provided a nice coffee area for a easy breakfast before my day trip. On the final day, i enjoyed the full buffet breakfast and staffs were really helpful with that gave people nice day beginning.
Onsen provided me an refreshments daily and made me energetic, also relaxed me as happy ending.
I forgot the female staff who received my fruit on 14Jan night. She and her colleague assist us to prepare the fruit which purchased outside. It was my nice dessert that night.
Another memorable gentleman on 13Jan overnight, i was handling some business during overnight in sudden. Therefore, i went down lobby to complete it. He approached me for assistance and offering me help for wifi service.
For the design of lobby, this is very great to locate the front desk towards the main entrance and the most front line to welcome guest. The FO team need to perform the most professional and consistently services. Especially the cold weather, they keep a good image to maintain professional.
The shuttle bus driver was nice to take care us every evening back to hotel.
For the room reservation, we selected the room with beautiful view Sakurajima and i could enjoy my drip coffee myself to see the sun raise.
I will highly recommend this hotel to my friends.
GGuest UserThere is a supermarket nearby, which I think is more convenient. The hotel and room environment is very good, and the private outdoor hot spring space in the room is also relatively large; The only thing is that the hotel is located near the city. Although it is more convenient, it also sacrifices and lacks the landscape of . This depends on personal choice. But in general, it is considered a hotel worth staying in.
AAnonymous UserVery satisfied hotel! The location of the hotel is very good, you can watch the sunrise while lying in bed. There is a hot spring on the premises, the room is comfortable, the breakfast is delicious, and the staff is very welcoming! Worth recommending to more friends
GGuest UserHotel can be accessed directly from the JR underpass, towards basement of hotel building. Tram station conveniently located in front of hotel. Hotel faces JR Station. Room is cozy with plenty of wall sockets. Good value for money. Room had lovely view of Mt Sakurajima.
GGuest UserEveryone is very friendly and it's nice at home.
The rice is very good and the beach is nearby, so it is perfect for spending a luxurious time.
This room is a wooden house with high ceilings and a touch of woody fragrance. The ceiling fan invites you to travel.
Taking a step to the balcony, the stars look very beautiful, and the sounds of various creatures come and go.
I feel that I have found something forgotten in my city life.
I want to live longer.
Thank you very much for picking up from the airport.
If you come to Ammei, please be sure to stay, I will recommend it.
GGuest UserI think this hotel is pretty brand new hotel. Every amenities were new one. Hotel employees can speak english. It is very close to Tenmonkandori so comfortable to go anywhere in Kagoshima including the airport
GGuest UserExcellent location, in the Kagoshimachuo station. Great price. Decent room, not cramped at all and space to lay out your luggage. Did not order breakfast. There are so many choices outside the hotel.
GGood morning bunny! The environment is comfortable, the kiri-kiri bath and the large public bath are great.
Shochu and local tea are provided.
There are also hourly and midnight snacks.
The tomato ramen is delicious.
The hotel also provides a shuttle bus to Kirishima Jingu Station.
The Dormy Inn Group will not disappoint.
Recommend staying at Kirishima Onsen for one night.
It is great.
IIntan MasturaRoom was a decent size, fully equipped with washing machine, kitchen utensils, fridge, microwave. Very clean.
Unfortunately I did not receive the email with the entry code for the main entrance. That resulted in my waiting outside in the cold for almost an hour before getting the code through Trip.com customer service, before I could enter the building and into my room.
Also, Staytus only has a phone number to call for emergencies - it would be helpful to have at least an email alternative also, since foreigners may not have a mobile phone that can make calls in Japan.
