The location is incredibly convenient. The airport shuttle drops you off right at the hotel entrance, and the train station, bus terminal, and ferry terminal are all just a minute's walk away. There's also a bakery in the hotel with a good reputation, though guests no longer get discounts. From the breakfast area on the first floor, you can see the queue at the ferry terminal. While the breakfast isn't extensive, it's quite refined, and it's super convenient if you're in a hurry. The hotel hosts many tour groups from Europe and Southeast Asia, but the elevators are fast, so it's not an issue. We pre-booked dinner at the hotel's famous French restaurant, but business was slow – surprisingly few guests even on Halloween, and no decorations either. However, the food was delicious, the presentation was excellent, and the set menu was very satisfying and reasonably priced.

This is an absolutely lovely hotel. It's spotlessly clean, and the breakfast is delicious and plentiful. Although the room isn't huge, its clever layout ensures it never feels cramped. It's well-equipped with everything you need: a fridge, TV, separate shower and toilet, and even a bathtub. I stayed on the 12th floor, and the sunrise from my window in the morning was incredibly beautiful. I especially want to commend the staff. During my trip, I had a minor cycling accident and injured my arm. The front desk staff quickly helped me connect with a hospital equipped to treat foreign patients, and my injury was handled without a hitch. After returning to the hotel, I made sure to go back to the front desk to express my gratitude. The staff member was visibly happy and excited that their assistance had made such a positive difference for me. Witnessing their genuine joy deeply touched me. My heartfelt thanks once again to the front desk staff.

Love the room floor space where i can do my morning stretch, and not to mention the long table space where I can do some read, work write facing the far off hills view with ample morning sunlight. Window can be opened, which is a bonus point. The front desk service team was splendid, polite and helpful, giving a pleasant feel whenever passing through the lobby on level 8 for change of elevator. Amenities were basic, tho good for me as I packed most of my own toiletries. Cleanliness can be improved nonetheless as i noted dust at corner walls. All else for a 3 star accommodation was good enough

Hard to truly review this property as we checked in but didn't stay.  We were under the impression that we had booked the Hotel rather than the Inn - it can be confusing as they have nearly identical names. Judging by the lobby and location of the Inn, we did not feel that it was up to our standards.  Thus, we immediately checked out and booked the Hotel instead for our stay. Unfortunately, at the point our prepayment was non-refundable.  This was ultimately our fault, but please be advised to make sure that you would like to stay at the Inn (a more business stay lodging) rather than the Hotel (a more traditional full service lodging).

The hotel’s service was exceptional, with staff going above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The scenery was breathtaking, offering stunning views that made every moment special. Breakfast and dinner were outstanding, featuring delicious dishes that showcased local flavors. To top it off, they surprised us by preparing a famous local cake to celebrate my wife’s birthday, which was a delightful and thoughtful touch. Everything was perfectly arranged, and their attention to detail truly impressed us. This hotel exceeded our expectations, and we’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a remarkable experience.

It's at a good location, very near to Kawaramachi station. About 1.5km walk to Takamatsu station. It's near the area where all the izakayas are. The bed is clean, however I find the shower is not so clean comparing to the Japanese standard. Kitchen is a little small for accomodating so many people. I love that they have self-service laundry and dryer all in one, which I find myself using it a lot! Not to mention, the common space in 2nd floor is spacious.

Place is convenient to all the different shopping streets in Takamatsu. It's quite a distance away from the pier for walking, but there are many different bus services available so it's at max a 16 minutes away from main station and there is a bus stop point right in front of the hotel. Hotel feels relatively new, the standard double room is small but comfortable. Recommended!

The room is bigger than expected, but the facilities are a bit old, basically clean, and the service is normal. Check-in and room are not in the same building, but it is not a big problem. There is a shampoo bar in the check-in lobby where you can pick up items by yourself (it feels like a promotional spot), and there are disposable items and shampoo and shower gel in the room. The advantage is that for our itinerary, the location is better, just opposite Takamatsu Station and close to the pier. It is convenient to take a bus to and from Osaka and take a boat to several islands, but it is far from the center of Takamatsu. However, there are many restaurants and convenience stores nearby, so eating is not a problem~

This 400-year-old onsen ryokan is a bit of a mixed bag. The location is definitely superb, and all drinks in the mini-bar are complimentary. Taking the path behind the ryokan to Konpira-san offers a unique and scenic experience, and the complimentary hiking poles at the entrance are a nice touch. However, I have to complain about the room facilities. The curtains were too sheer, making the entire room very bright in the morning. It seemed like they should have been blackout curtains, but they were faulty and couldn't be pulled down. After a long journey, I was hoping to get some good rest, but the bright curtains made it impossible – instead of waking up with the roosters, I woke up with the light! The food portions were very small, and there wasn't much variety. People with a big appetite would definitely not be full, and even those with a smaller appetite might struggle. Personally, I felt the freshness of the food was a bit lacking, and the kitchen's exhaust system was poor, as I could smell cooking fumes in the room.

The interior was very spacious. The tables were long enough to accommodate my belongings. There was a shopping alley right behind the hotel, which was great for browsing. Don Quijote was also a five-minute walk away.

YYvonneWe stayed in a type A room, overall stay satisfied 👍 Free service provided by the hotel → Shuttle bus, drinks, massage chairs, rooftop stargazing, The attitude of the waiters and drivers is very commendable 👍 The room's duvet and environment are very comfortable 👍 Rich breakfast and dinner 👍 Only at the end of the dinner, the white rice served, although delicious, but no dishes to match, make the overall pale. It would be perfect if it could be served with some wild vegetables at the same time. You can also add two more pieces of fruit. We enjoyed a comfortable and unforgettable evening, Thank you to all the staff of the hotel 😊👍

GGuest UserYou can see the details and services of the traditional hot spring hotel. Just get off the bus, the service staff will come and immediately call the Chinese service staff to assist. The meticulous welcome matcha is a big plus. The English introduction of the catering service staff is also very good. The meal is very delicious and perfect. Coupled with good facilities and hot springs, it is really worth recommending 👍

DDaily happyDuring my recent trip to Japan, I had the pleasure of staying at a hotel that also serves as a wedding venue — and from the moment I arrived, the level of service was simply impeccable. The staff were not only gracious and professional, but also went out of their way to assist me at every turn, despite my lack of Japanese language skills. Their warm hospitality left a lasting impression and made me feel truly welcomed and cared for. Though the room was compact, it was exceptionally clean and thoughtfully arranged. As a solo traveler, I found the space more than sufficient — cozy, comfortable, and a fantastic value for the price. It truly struck the perfect balance between affordability and quality. A special mention goes to the amenities: the hotel provides a well-stocked amenity station at the reception, where guests can freely pick up whatever they need — a detail that reflects the hotel’s attention to guest convenience. While the location is a little removed from the city center, this wasn’t an issue at all for me, as I had a rental car. The added bonus? Free parking on-site, which made my stay even more convenient and budget-friendly. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in so many ways. With its blend of elegant ambiance, exceptional service, and thoughtful touches, it became a peaceful and comfortable base for my journey — one I would gladly return to and wholeheartedly recommend to fellow travelers.

Aaleu aleuThe staff of Olivean Shodoshima Yuhigaoka Hotel are professional and considerable. Their service are excellent, especially 1) The shuttle bus driver (morning shift strong man, forgot asking his name). When we arrived at Shodoshima Ferry Pier at 11:00am on April 7, we found a hotel shuttle bus, but not sure if it's the one of our staying hotel. We asked the driver if it's the one that waiting to pick us up. He said yes, but the hotel check-in time should be 3:00pm in the afternoon. He suggested us to have the sightseeing first and helped register the afternoon time for picking us instead. Also, he suggested taking our hand carry bags to the hotel front desk to avoid we carrying too heavy bags while travelling. 2) The lady staff (sorry for forgetting her name) at the lobby hall, who was very proactive. She came over immediately to help taking photos for us when she found we're taking a selfie. She also served us with free drinks for enjoying the sunset at the hall. 3) The staff at the reception desk are very professional. They helped us for check-in, explained the details of the time for meals, and provided all the information required. 4) The foods for dinner & breakfast buffet are very nice and yummy. The restaurant is clean and tidy. Overall, Olivean Shodoshima Yuhigaoka Hotel is a very professional and comfortable accommodation for stay. We're pleased and feel glad choosing this hotel.

GGuest UserThe location is excellent, JR Takamatsu Station, Kotoden Takamatsu Chikko, and Takamatsu Port are all very close. I didn't see the legendary boss, the key was directly left at the front desk, and the room number was written on it. Overall, the price-performance ratio is very high, unless you stay in room 31, next to the bathroom, it is very lively at night, and there will be people chatting in the public lounge next to you at 2 am

YYiweiyihang0115We booked this hotel for island hopping in the Seto Inland Sea. It's a bit of a walk from Takamatsu Port, but we walked there and back. It was fine when we arrived in the evening, but the sun was really intense and hot when we checked out in the morning. It was quite expensive because it coincided with a holiday; usually, it would be under 1,000 yen, but the price doubled during this period. The hot spring bath was excellent, the late-night ramen was fantastic, and breakfast was good too. I'd definitely consider staying here again if I return to Takamatsu. Facilities: Has a hot spring, breakfast, and late-night ramen. Cleanliness: Good. Environment: Near Central Park.

GGuest UserThe hotel is only a few mins away on foot from JR Takamatsu station. The room (a double-bed room for a single traveler) is small and dated but in terms of cleanness and comfort, it still is quite alright. The hotel offers free drink in the lobby in the evening, which seems to be a common practice nowadays in Japan's business hotels. There are a number of restaurants nearby and the main pedestrian shopping street is also just less than 10 mins away. To sum up, if you need to be near the JR Takamatsu station or Takamastu port for a short stay, this is a very affordable choice. Reminder: if you need to catch airport bus to Takamatsu Airport in the morning, go to the starting stop which is located at the main road outside of the ferry terminals. The bus, in my experience, was fairly empty when I boarded at the starting stop, but quickly filled up after the 3rd stop and you might need to wait for the next one.

__WeChat50062****I booked an accessible room, and it was genuinely spacious. It's really comfortable to stay in a 35 sqm room in Japan. There was a slight odor when I first entered the room, but it cleared up after I turned on the air purifier. Downside: The soundproofing isn't great. Upside: Everything else is a plus. The location is excellent. There's an airport shuttle right downstairs, which costs 1000 yen and goes directly to the airport. There are frequent services, almost hourly. Location: Whether you're going to the airport, Takamatsu Port for island hopping, or the JR station, everything is within walking distance. It's a 12-minute walk to Takamatsu Port, which was perfect for our island-hopping itinerary. Mitsukoshi department store is just a few minutes' walk from the hotel, and it has an LV store with plenty of stock. There are also many choices for drugstores, restaurants, and cafes. The room was cleaned daily. One time, I forgot to hang the 'please clean' sign and thought it wouldn't be done, but when I returned to the room, it felt completely refreshed, which was a lovely surprise. I forgot to take photos of the room, so I've included a picture of the beautiful blue sea and sky instead.
