A fantastic place to stay. Staff was very professional and the room was quite comfortable and thoughtful in its layout & amenities. The on-site restaurant served a spectacular seasonal meal and the morning buffet was fabulous for view, quality and quantity. This was also very walkable from the train station. Enjoy!
It's an older business hotel, but despite its age, the overall environment is very clean and doesn't have the musty smell of old hotels. It's not too far from Morioka Station, the breakfast is quite plentiful, and the overall accommodation price is very cheap. There's a parking lot next door, which is very convenient for those driving. The room is a bit small and dark, the pillows are a bit flat, and the air conditioning is central, so there's no way to adjust the temperature; you can only choose the fan speed.
Overall very good place but a little difficult to find without maps because the sign on the front is not very big nor well lit. also the main entrance is not where you expect it but below ground level.
This is the best ever hotel I have ever been to in Japan. The name Richmond guarantees so many things. You can count on it. Even though it’s not in a big city like Tokyo or Osaka, but if you are visiting Morioka - choose this hotel. It worth every penny of yours. The staffs are so helpful, dedicated and dependable at anytime and any situation you need. All staffs say that their English are not good, but I who lived in London for many years would say that their skill is more than just okay. Even the housekeepers are still nice. I have some problems with my luggage transfers to the airport from the hotel and they are trying their best to help me alleviate those.
There is a free service lounge from noon to 8pm in the 2nd floor. The microwave oven and ice machine on the 7th floor. The coin washing machine is also located on the 7th floor - 500 yens for wash and dry. Convenient store(Lawson) is on the ground floor with direct access from the lobby.
I’ve stayed on the 9th floor. The room is big and the view of the station was fabulous. Free WiFi is available. And the TV system communicates with all the system of the hotel shows all the information you need - even the time left of the coin washing machine that you used.
Yakiniku and many delicious restaurants just around the corner from the hotel.
Definitely will stay here again anytime I visit Morioka.
Has a slight hiccup getting to the hotel as you have to use the underpass to cross the road. But other than that, enjoyed our stay here! Short 5 mins walk from station, hotel is located right next to the river and bridge! Very nice view, esp from the bridge. Room is tight but has long corridor to open our luggage. Bathtub was big. Convenience store just downstairs, walkable to many attractions and Aeon supermarket! Will be back!
I am a US traveler on business. I have visited Kashoen before and based on my experiences it is the only hotel I will ever stay at in Hanamaki.
The hotel staff are the kindest, most caring, and passionate people I have met at a hotel. The amenities are fantastic, the hotel food is phenomenal, and my stay is always relaxing. The rooms are very clean and comfortable.
There is a nice nature trail nearby with a river that is beautiful as well.
If you are in Hanamaki or are looking for somewhere to enjoy a peaceful weekend at, I suggest Kashoen.
The hotel is located in Hanamaki Onsen Village, which is a group of three hotels. You can go to the hot springs in all three hotels, but I only went to the Momijikan, which has both outdoor and indoor hot springs. The area is not small and very comfortable. The room is also large, and the breakfast is rich in variety, with Japanese and Western food. There are also sukiyaki, local milk and ice cream. The hotel also has free folk performances in the lobby every night, which is very unique. If it is spring and summer, the rose garden near the hotel should also be beautiful. A very recommended hotel. The disadvantage is that the surrounding public transportation is not very convenient. You can only make an appointment to take the free shuttle bus from the hotel to Shin-Hanamaki Station. Although there are ordinary buses, there are very few buses.
The stay was smooth, we arrived at 7:30 in the evening, one berth and two meals, the food was rich and delicious, there was no more reassuring and satisfying than the dining at the accommodation, and the family said it was good.
This hotel chain features night ramen service, which is delicious.
After taking a bath, Meimei sleeps, Japanese-style relaxation holiday style, I like 😘
Next to the train station. When compared to other hotels, there aren’t many amenities to use. But they do have the necessary amenities.

GGuest UserThe location is beautiful and the views from the car park assured us we had chosen well. Check in was helpful and all facilities were fully explained at this time, allowing us to book our dining time.
The room was comfortable and traditional; the view, amazing! With an afternoon of sunshine, time was taken to enjoy the view in a temperature controlled setting. There was a beautiful tea set and tea provided along with some complementary snacks and water. The toiletries provided were lovely and I shall certainly be looking to purchase these for my home.
Dinner was a Chinese style buffet, with an excellent selection of dishes. Barbecues for the table and delicious sashimi and hand prepared sushi. Soups, stews, salad and more! To follow was an assortment of cakes and ice creams. Staff were very helpful and polite and the food was filling and delicious. We then retired to the hotel bar where we were again greeted by a lovely member of staff.
Upon return to our room, futons had been prepared and the room made ready for sleep. These were surprisingly comfortable.
Breakfast was also delicious with a huge array of dishes to choose from. Check out was simple and staff were helpful and polite.
I will definitely be returning!

FFromTokyoSince there is only one elevator in the 12-story hotel, you will see 2 〜 3 times on the middle floor, especially when you have breakfast or check out. It is fast to take the elevator that goes up and falls back.
KKanThe location is good for the family ski holiday with all facilities available for this ski-in/ski-out hotel. The breakfast has a good variety while the dinner options are good especially the Teppanyaki restaurant with the local beef and abalone. The Japanese restaurant was also good with various dishes to choose from. The outdoor onsen at 白樺之湯 really worth the visit after the ski and I’d recommend to enjoy at day time. We have also tried the hotel massage services and it was really good and relaxing! The only thing for improvement is that the room themselves are a bit old and maybe should consider renovations in coming years. The shops have many food and drinks and souvenirs. We also got a big pack of fireworks that we can pay together with kids just outside the hotel on the snow slope.
Overall we enjoyed the stay and the slopes and ski school are magnificent!
LLanie KirklandA group of four of us booked a cabin on a whim, and I’m so happy we did!! We did a two-day ski trip to Geto Kogen, and I cannot stress enough how convenient these cabins were to the resort itself. We stayed overnight in between two days at the resort. The drive up to the resort was less than 20 minutes. The cabin itself was super cozy, so comfortable, had great amenities for the short time we were there, and the staff were so kind and helpful. Everything was very clean, the heater was already on when we arrived, which was a very thoughtful touch, and we were able to hang all our snow gear to dry thanks to the copious amounts of hangars available. We felt it was a crazy good deal based on the price, location, and availability to book it just a few days in advance. We will definitely be back in the summer to use the grill and go golfing at the country club!
DDevI stayed at this place during my hike through the Michinoku coastal trail. This is a good choice before you attempt Kurosakiso and Kitayamazaki coast. This can be reached easily from Horinai station. Cross the big bridge and walk a bit more, you can see the sign to the left. The hotel has nice indoor and outdoor onsen. Many locals come here to use the onsen. They probably have annual or life membership to use the onsen. It is a nice opportunity to chat with some of them. When I was there, it was raining and hence I could not enjoy the view, however, using onsen after hiking in the rain was quite relaxing. On a clear day, the ocean can be seen from the room window. Dinner can be ordered and is quite good at a reasonable price. The next day, the hotel shuttle dropped me to the train station which was quite nice, I did not have to walk in rain.

HHr waSelf-driving car ありで utilization. Parking lot は no material.
It is a small hotel, but there are a number of rooms or more parking lots, so it seems that you cannot park your car.
A system where you can give a card key at check-in and put it in a box when you go out and leave it as it is. You don't need to leave it at the front desk when you go out. Simple but no trouble.
It is a little far from the nearest Ichinoseki station and the downtown area in front of the station (?), but it is a distance that cannot be walked. Is it a little closer from the east exit? It seems to be within the taxi first ride fare range.
There are seven eleven and drug stores (food super type goods) within 3 minutes walk of the inn, and there is no particular inconvenience in shopping.
The room doesn't feel that big, but it has everything you need to stay as a business and it's a good impression. There is no particular concern about beds and bedding.
WIFI speed is no problem, and the sound of other rooms is not particularly heard and comfortable. Best environment if you don't ask for excessive service.
Free breakfast is a system that takes bread, small bowls, yogurt (Danon), and beverages by yourself. It's simple, but if you don't need ”guts from the morning!”, you can even feel that it's just right.
The price is the lowest among the hotels near ichinoseki station, and there is no shortage of service if it is a business use with a car.
I think it will be a good choice for those who do not ask for extra service for accommodation.
Personally I was able to stay comfortably.
GGuest UserI stayed here while visiting my hometown. I chose this hotel because I wanted to relax in a hot spring. The quality of the hot spring was excellent. The location from the open-air bath isn't the best, but it's not completely visible, so I think that actually helped me relax. It was summer, but the sounds of cicadas and cuckoos added to the resort atmosphere.
The room was spacious and clean. The amenities were more than enough. Soap and shampoo are provided at the hot spring, so you can easily enter empty-handed (just bring a towel). Towels are also provided in the room.
I booked a breakfast-included plan, so I was looking forward to it. It's a buffet, but the selection is so extensive that I was full before I could enjoy it all. The menu changes daily, so it was fun to stay multiple nights.
The lobby also offers free drinks and popsicles, which is a great service for families with children.
The only downside is the Wi-Fi. While there is free Wi-Fi on each floor, it's really poorly connected. And even when I thought I had it, it would disconnect immediately. The signal was poor, so I would notice it disconnecting before I knew it. This needs to be improved; Wi-Fi is available! Despite advertising it as such, it was practically nonexistent.
The voices of tourists were loud late at night. I think they were Chinese, but even though it was past midnight I could hear them doing something in the hallway and it made it difficult to sleep.
However, overall it was a good hotel, and although I was traveling alone this time, I would like to bring my family next time.
YYoshimasaIn the natural environment surrounded by mountains and forests, the clear stream behind the inn flows gurgling, healing the body and mind.
It is fun to enjoy each of the four hot springs that flow directly from the source, but we especially recommend the deepest hot spring in Japan.
This is a self-propelled natural rock bath ”Shirasaru no Yu”. This is a very rare hot spring. Due to its depth, you can stand up to enter, but it is evenly distributed throughout your body.
It is said that applying hot water pressure can effectively promote blood circulation. The hall also has a nostalgic atmosphere, as if traveling to the past.
The hospitality of the staff is also very attentive. If you have the opportunity to stay in Hanamaki, it is a hotel worth staying in.
