The two-bedroom suite was perfect for our family of three adults. The room itself was spacious, bright, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The service was incredibly thoughtful! The dining table, which also served as a desk, was very practical. Having a Siemens washer-dryer combo, microwave, and a full set of tableware made our stay incredibly convenient. With a supermarket just downstairs where we could easily pick up laundry detergent, doing laundry daily was a breeze. The hotel's amenities, including the swimming pool, billiards room, and gym, were excellent, and we particularly enjoyed the delicious Japanese cuisine at the restaurant. The subway station is conveniently located right outside to the right, and a ten-minute walk straight ahead takes you to the scenic Donggang Fountain by the sea. Our few days of vacation here were truly relaxing and enjoyable. Dalian is a truly wonderful city, and the Donggang area is particularly pleasant. We'll definitely choose this hotel again for our next visit. Thank you!

Novotel will be my top choice next time I visit Dalian! Absolutely fantastic! This was the most comfortable hotel I stayed at during my Dalian trip. For the first two days, unfamiliar with the city, I booked a highly-rated hotel online based on its location. To my dismay, it didn't even have blackout curtains, and I was woken up by sunlight shining on my bed past 5 AM. I decisively switched to Novotel, which, coincidentally, is located in the same building. I regret that Novotel wasn't a recommended option when I made my initial booking online. **Location:** Situated in the heart of Zhongshan District, it's near Dalian Times Square (luxury shopping) and very close to Zhongshan Square and the charming Nanshan Street. Its excellent location makes it incredibly convenient to get anywhere. A taxi to Xinghai Square only costs around 10-20 RMB. There are plenty of dining, entertainment, and leisure options in the vicinity. **Ambiance:** The hotel boasts a 'light luxury' design, which feels very comfortable and inviting. It's impeccably clean, fresh, and hygienic, with a complimentary fruit platter provided daily. **Facilities:** The facilities are comprehensive and include everything you'd expect. There's both a laundry room and a well-equipped gym. The on-site restaurant also serves a delicious breakfast! **Service:** The service is exceptionally warm and friendly, truly making you feel at home. The staff are polite and greet you every time they see you. Even the cleaning staff proactively offer a greeting with a smile. The only minor drawback is that it shares elevators with several other hotels, and there's no key card required to access floors directly, which could be a slight security concern.

The hotel clearly had a nice renovation at some point, and the rooms are very spacious. The sofa was a comfortable spot to unwind after a day of sightseeing. A heated towel rail in the bathroom was a thoughtful touch, making it easy to dry clothes during our trip. However, the hotel itself feels quite dated. The lighting was dim, the air conditioning had an unpleasant odor, and the curtains were torn. On a positive note, the hotel staff were incredibly helpful. We had originally booked a twin room, but upon arrival, we found its window faced a wall of noisy air conditioning units from the adjacent building. When we informed the front desk, they were very accommodating; they came up to our floor and switched us to a king room without us having to go downstairs. Breakfast was also quite good. The hotel's location is superb, with many restaurants nearby, and it's within walking distance of Zhongshan Square. Taxis to any destination were also reasonably priced.

This hotel is definitely a 5 star . It's near all restaurants. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They can speak English fluently. The rooms are spotless clean . There's a playground for small kids, a swimming pool, and a jacuzzi . It is very convenient for a holiday if you are traveling .

Overall a good place with a bright design. Location is about 20-25 minutes walking from the train station or 15 minutes from the metro station with a direct link to the airport. It is foreigner friendly, since the friendly staff knows some English or tries to communicate via online translator. The bed was very comfortable, Aircon worked for cooling, WiFi was fast. Two minor flaws: drainage in the shower didn't work well and there was some weird smell in the room when I arrived, but nothing too serious. The breakfast is not a buffet. You'll be served a tray with some food as shown on photo. If you like chicken feet and a prawn in rice porridge for breakfast, you'll love it :) On the flip side, they push you hard to leave them a 5* review when you check out. They even have a special manual for that in several languages. This spoils the overall good impression. In any case, I can recommend this place.

The service is quite good, the location is good, the transportation is convenient, and it is one of the few five-star hotels in the development zone. However, the facilities are a bit old and the room is too small. It is recommended to renovate it as soon as possible, as it is a bit outdated.

An absolutely perfect stay. The InterContinental Dalian boasts luxurious, elegant, and grand facilities. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and inviting, offering breathtaking views of the East Port shipyard and the ocean. Its prime downtown location provides incredibly convenient access to subway and bus lines, and taxi rides around the city are also very affordable. It's just a short walk to the historic century-old buildings around Zhongshan Square. Check-in was a breeze, and the service was attentive and incredibly warm. A special thank you to DANA at the front desk for her excellent service. I also appreciate the doormen who always helped me with my bags from the taxi. Finally, kudos to the F&B department for the thoughtful gesture of delivering red date and pear soup to my room in the evening, which was a perfect way to relax and unwind after a long day of exploring. Dalian truly is a fantastic city!

Highly Recommended (Genuine review, written while waiting for my flight). 1. It's affordable, and the soundproofing is decent. 2. The location is absolutely fantastic – just 10 meters straight out of the subway exit! About 100 meters away is a Dalian Supermarket, which I highly recommend for a casual browse; it's incredibly convenient for picking up fresh milk, popular local smoked meat patties, chicken frame noodles, and more. Wuxian Xia Xiang (a restaurant) is also a delicious recommendation, only 300 meters away. Plus, there are three or four shopping malls within 500 meters, all easily reachable on foot. 3. The room comes with a mini-fridge, perfect for keeping drinks cold. The staff member was incredibly kind; when I mentioned I needed more water to take out, she generously gave me 6 bottles right away! The only minor drawback is that the laundry room is quite cramped (though you can ignore this if you don't plan on using it). 4. Dalian's weather is truly unbeatable – I really don't want to leave!

The hotel breakfast offers an incredibly rich and varied spread, with authentic flavors that are both visually appealing and delicious. The gym is spacious, bright, and well-equipped. The room facilities are luxurious. Although they show slight signs of age, this in no way diminishes their luxury or functionality. However, I would suggest the hotel implements a more thorough and regular cleaning schedule for some of the sofa upholstery. Additionally, the room layout could be further optimized. For example, regarding bed placement in family suites: while I understand the current design philosophy, I recommend reconfiguring some rooms to place both the large and small beds in the bedroom, thereby restoring the living room function. Furthermore, the food and service at the Tang Palace restaurant on the 6th floor are also excellent. Beyond a 5-star recommendation – this is my top choice when visiting Shenyang!

The family room was quite spacious and well-stocked with many children's amenities. Immediately after check-in, a supervisor asked to connect on WeChat, offering direct contact for any issues. They did promptly address many of our concerns later, which was excellent service. However, the room always had a peculiar, indefinable smell – I couldn't quite place if it was dampness or something else. It was barely tolerable. One significant disappointment was that I chose this hotel primarily because their website advertised a children's playground. However, it turned out to be an affiliated indoor play area next door, not an on-site facility, and it required an additional charge. Moreover, for a five-star hotel, it was quite unbelievable to discover previous guests' hair in the bathtub. To their credit, the hotel's attitude in addressing this was very good. The children's pool was another major letdown; the water was full of white floating debris, making it quite visibly dirty.
