Unable to secure a twin room at the Four Seasons, and with our elderly family members specifically requiring separate beds, we instead booked Fraser Suites' largest three-bedroom apartment.
We were assigned to the 21st floor (out of 25, a minor disappointment as it wasn't one of the top two floors). The apartment featured an L-shaped layout, which felt a bit unusual. The master bedroom had a king bed, while the other two bedrooms had a queen bed and two single beds, respectively. Without floor-to-ceiling windows, the visual impression of space felt a little constricted.
The layout of the living and dining areas wasn't ideal and could benefit from an upgrade or rearrangement. The open-plan kitchen was tastefully designed, and both a washing machine and dryer were conveniently located next to the fridge. However, the range hood's ventilation wasn't very effective.
The use of Villeroy & Boch and Hansgrohe for bathroom fixtures suggests a relatively high investment in the property's hardware.
We had requested mouthwash and a variety of pillows during booking, and thankfully, these requests were eventually met, partly due to the booking platform's coordination.
The beds were exceptionally comfortable, offering a perfect balance of softness and support – a truly unexpected highlight.
The swimming pool was the most satisfying feature. The water temperature was a bit on the cool side, and while its length was acceptable, it was rather narrow. The depth, ranging from 0.9m to 1.5m, was fine, though I did graze my toe on the pool floor in the shallowest section. The changing rooms were excellent, complete with hot and cold plunge pools and both wet and dry saunas. Plus, they had Dyson hairdryers, which were far superior to the ones in the apartment.
**Points for improvement:**
1. The toothpaste provided was Meijianjing, which seemed out of place for a hotel of this caliber.
2. After checking in, we discovered there was only one hairdryer for three bedrooms. Furthermore, it was one of those models that require you to continuously hold down the handle to operate – a type I'd never encountered before. After calling room service, they simply provided another identical, awkward hairdryer. Why not the Dyson ones found in the gym changing rooms?
3. The toilet paper was incredibly thin and rather rough. For a property of this standard, one would expect at least Kleenex-quality tissue.
4. The living room television was too small and had poor picture quality; it definitely needs an upgrade.
5. There weren't enough waste bins, and their placement was inconvenient.
6. Out of the three bathrooms, only the master bathroom featured a non-standalone bathtub, which was awkwardly placed inside the shower cubicle, making it very inconvenient to use. What's more, there was a small, completely empty room right next to it with no facilities at all.
7. The wardrobe hangers were not suitable for delicate clothing, as there were no padded or silk hangers provided.
Overall, while it offers excellent value for money, it doesn't quite qualify as a luxury hotel apartment, falling more into the category of an entry-level five-star property like a Shangri-La or Hilton.

at first, the hotel was difficult to find (search for ”yike yija hotel (dalian railway station), wenlin street no. 1 on gaode maps) because there are apparently many ”yike” hotels in dalian ;)
when we arrived, we met a very friendly staff! the hotel is very modern, so are the rooms :) i really liked it there!
in the evening there are plenty of streetfood and fruit options to choose from as the hotel is right next to many night clubs (yet it still is very quiet).

Novotel will be my top choice next time I visit Dalian! Absolutely fantastic!
This was the most comfortable hotel I stayed at during my Dalian trip. For the first two days, unfamiliar with the city, I booked a highly-rated hotel online based on its location. To my dismay, it didn't even have blackout curtains, and I was woken up by sunlight shining on my bed past 5 AM. I decisively switched to Novotel, which, coincidentally, is located in the same building. I regret that Novotel wasn't a recommended option when I made my initial booking online.
**Location:** Situated in the heart of Zhongshan District, it's near Dalian Times Square (luxury shopping) and very close to Zhongshan Square and the charming Nanshan Street. Its excellent location makes it incredibly convenient to get anywhere. A taxi to Xinghai Square only costs around 10-20 RMB. There are plenty of dining, entertainment, and leisure options in the vicinity.
**Ambiance:** The hotel boasts a 'light luxury' design, which feels very comfortable and inviting. It's impeccably clean, fresh, and hygienic, with a complimentary fruit platter provided daily.
**Facilities:** The facilities are comprehensive and include everything you'd expect. There's both a laundry room and a well-equipped gym. The on-site restaurant also serves a delicious breakfast!
**Service:** The service is exceptionally warm and friendly, truly making you feel at home. The staff are polite and greet you every time they see you. Even the cleaning staff proactively offer a greeting with a smile.
The only minor drawback is that it shares elevators with several other hotels, and there's no key card required to access floors directly, which could be a slight security concern.

The location is incredibly convenient. It's less than a 3-minute walk from the Exit of Metro Line 2, so even with luggage, it's not a strenuous walk at all. There are many popular spots nearby, all within a 2km radius, including Dalian Shopping Mall, Xianshengsheng Sushi, Aoshen, and more.
The service was exceptional. They offered complimentary fruit upon afternoon check-in. We asked if we could receive it later in the evening since we were going out, and they happily agreed. When we returned to the hotel at night, we found the fruit already placed in our room. It was perfectly timed as we were thirsty – such a thoughtful gesture!
The overall environment was quiet and spotless. For its price category, it offers excellent value for money and a truly comfortable experience.

Highly Recommended (Genuine review, written while waiting for my flight).
1. It's affordable, and the soundproofing is decent.
2. The location is absolutely fantastic – just 10 meters straight out of the subway exit! About 100 meters away is a Dalian Supermarket, which I highly recommend for a casual browse; it's incredibly convenient for picking up fresh milk, popular local smoked meat patties, chicken frame noodles, and more. Wuxian Xia Xiang (a restaurant) is also a delicious recommendation, only 300 meters away. Plus, there are three or four shopping malls within 500 meters, all easily reachable on foot.
3. The room comes with a mini-fridge, perfect for keeping drinks cold. The staff member was incredibly kind; when I mentioned I needed more water to take out, she generously gave me 6 bottles right away! The only minor drawback is that the laundry room is quite cramped (though you can ignore this if you don't plan on using it).
4. Dalian's weather is truly unbeatable – I really don't want to leave!

A definite 5-star recommendation! The hotel's location is superb, just a stone's throw from Taiyuan Street and a short walk from the subway station, making transportation incredibly convenient. All your dining and shopping needs are easily met nearby.
The hotel service truly deserves full praise. A big thank you to the staff working on the afternoon of August 16th, especially a lady at the front desk – my apologies for not remembering your name.
The hotel breakfast offers an incredibly rich and varied spread, with authentic flavors that are both visually appealing and delicious.
The gym is spacious, bright, and well-equipped.
The room facilities are luxurious. Although they show slight signs of age, this in no way diminishes their luxury or functionality. However, I would suggest the hotel implements a more thorough and regular cleaning schedule for some of the sofa upholstery. Additionally, the room layout could be further optimized. For example, regarding bed placement in family suites: while I understand the current design philosophy, I recommend reconfiguring some rooms to place both the large and small beds in the bedroom, thereby restoring the living room function.
Furthermore, the food and service at the Tang Palace restaurant on the 6th floor are also excellent.
Beyond a 5-star recommendation – this is my top choice when visiting Shenyang!

The hotel is in a commercial district with convenient transportation and ordering takeout. The interior environment is also very clean. There are many places to eat and play nearby. It is a little far from the subway station, but it is only a ten-minute walk away. The front desk is very friendly. 🤪 A very cost-effective accommodation experience

Unfortunately had a frustrating stay with everything absolutely disorganised and poorly managed. Check-in took over 40 minutes, and even though I arrived well after the official 2 pm check-in time, I was told my room still wasn’t ready because it was being cleaned (the same went for most people in the queue). The lobby and public areas were constantly noisy and chaotic, with kids running around unchecked which felt more like a theme park than a hotel. Breakfast the next morning wasn’t much better as I had to wait over 20 minutes just to be seated, and by that time the atmosphere had already killed my appetite.
The one real positive is the hotel’s location that gives you easy access to the metro station and most of the city’s main attractions. The property itself feels a little dated (90s luxury as you can imagine), but it’s reasonably well kept. Unfortunately the staff all seemed overwhelmed and disconnected from the front desk to housekeeping. There seemed to have no real warmth or sense of hospitality. Overall this will probably be my first and last stay at an IHG hotel.

Honestly, I don’t remember the last time I slept so well. I got almost 10 hours of uninterrupted sleep, the room was quiet, perfectly cool, and the blackout curtains made the room completely dark, which I loved.
Also, they offer an a la carte menu and even late-night service, which is super handy if you’re up late or get in hungry.
🧖♂️ Highly recommend the sauna + massage combo
One of the highlights of my stay: hit the sauna for about 20 minutes, then followed it up with a relaxing massage right there in the hotel. Total game changer 💯 I left feeling completely recharged.
🏊♂️ as for the pool, I tried to go around three times… but it seems that the hotel rent it to swimming classes for kids?? So it was always full of kids which it’s fine but consider it if as myself this amenity was crucial for me to book the hotel
🍳 Breakfast could be better
This is where things fell a bit short. The breakfast area is… kind of random? It’s in a hallway on the second floor, and the setup felt temporary. Not much variety, and there are no small tables, just big shared ones for about 10 people. A little awkward if you’re alone or just want a quiet breakfast. (I’ll include a pic)
📦 Heads-up on delivery
If you order food delivery, you’ll need to go downstairs to pick it up yourself — they don’t bring it up to your room.

The location is very convenient and within walking distance of many tourist attractions and food streets.
The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We got a free plate of fruits on our first day, and when we checked out, we were given a little goodie bag full of snacks.
The water pressure of the shower head is heavenly. It's the best shower head I have ever used in my entire life. It's amazing!!!!

AAnonymous UserBefore I came to Northeast China for the first time, I had heard that the service industry in Northeast China was poor, but in fact my experience was very good, especially the Conrad Hotel in Shenyang was one of the best places I had experienced during my trip to Northeast China. All the female employees are nice, and all the male employees are okay, except for one rude, unprofessional, immoral, and ridiculous male employee. He shouted at me when I arrived. I don't know if he is a concierge or a security guard. I hope this will not continue to exist in the hotel and then everything will be perfect.
GGuest UserThe location of the hotel is very easy to find. You can see the hotel directly on the right side after exiting Jinzhou Station. The lobby is very spacious and bright. There is a faint fragrance as soon as you enter. The front desk brother is very nice and helped us check in. The room is very clean and tidy. My mother and daughter like it very much. Although it is close to the station, it is very quiet to sleep at night. It is also close to Linghe Night Market and can be reached on foot. There are also shopping malls. It is very convenient to live here. The bus to the Little Potala Palace can also be reached in 10 minutes on foot. There are many types of breakfast, as well as plates for children. Milk, soy milk, coffee, yogurt are also complete, as well as Jinzhou-style roast chicken and sausages. The breakfasts on both days are different. There were fruits every afternoon, free cola and mineral water in the room refrigerator. The customer service was considerate enough to put the shoes on the bench at the door when they saw that no one was in the room. We stayed for two days including Saturday. When we came back from the night market at night, there was a girl singing on the first floor of the hotel. It was very pleasant to listen to her for a while. We checked out at 2 pm, but because we had a 5 pm train, we delayed the check-out to 4 pm, but the front desk guy said it was not cost-effective, so we left our things in the hotel and gave us a souvenir. We were very satisfied. My daughter said that she would definitely stay at Manxin Hotel next time she had the chance, as she didn't stay long enough. Thanks to the customer service and the front desk guy for their considerate service over the past two days. We will come again next time we have the chance.

MM57101****What a surprise, I booked it for one day at first, fearing it would be uncomfortable. I didn't expect the boss and the front desk service to be so good. So I booked another day. The air conditioner in the middle room was broken, so the boss took the initiative to change the room. The cleaning lady was as warm and welcoming as a family member. She took such good care of our family that we felt embarrassed. The hotel is not far from anywhere and has its own parking lot. I had a great time staying in Shenyang this time. Thank you to all the hotel staff and thank you for your service.

BBe-Pe-neunWellness and feel good oasis in Shenyang
We combined it with a night in the hotel.
Underground parking.
The big building is the spa. It’s not easy to miss.
The check-in is not in the big Spa Building. Overnighters have to go to the building next door, following the „check-in signs“.
There they inform you that:
- The day of check in you can use the Spa area until 10 pm.
- Day of checkout a delicious breakfast with much variety of cooked and fresh dishes, fruits, juices and coffee and sweets is served from 7-10am.
- If you check out before 10 am you can use the Spa area again until 6pm that day.
- To enter the Spa area you need to go to the big building. You need to let them know your room number and they need your passport / ID card.
- You will get a number for your individual locker. If you are a couple check the ticket with number for sign of female or male.
- You take off your shoes, exchange them for slippers they offer and store your shoes in your locker. You get a key you take inside which is for free.
- You will be led into gender separated changing areas.
- You get a free towel, lounge shirt and shirt pants to change in and sign for it with your key. There is staff to show you how.
- Your key shows your number and area in which your individual locker is located in. There is staff to show you how.
- Inside you first pass a gender separated area. Here you can be naked.
- Then you can leave that area and join the gender mixed area.
- It has 4 levels with indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs.
- Level 1 has outdoor pools, indoor pools, whirlpools, children’s water park and access to the wave park, which opens 4x a day for half an hour.
- Level 2 is more quiet with healthier whirlpool options.
- Level 3 has sauna houses for free open until 10pm, a movie theatre, KTV, food area and a children play area all open until 9:30pm.
- Level 4 is for private treatments.
In winter the outdoor waterpark/slides „the wave“ and terrace pools are closed due to the cold.
We were surprised of how relaxing the stay at the Spa was. There is many people but the Spa building is amazingly huge and has many different areas to lay down and corners in which it was very peaceful.
Our hotel room „Room Queensize-Bed“ was lovely and the staff very attentive. We ordered ice-cubes, extra water and had pizza delivered to the hotel.
All in all, a wonderful experience, which we will repeat.

2205722****A family vacation at Hard Rock Hotel Dalian? It felt like hitting the parenting jackpot! Finally, this tired mom could just collapse on the sofa and scroll through her phone – totally worth every penny of the hotel stay! The hotel is just a few minutes' walk from the beach, where the sand is so soft it feels like walking on cotton candy. The kids could literally dig in the sand from dawn till dusk! The best part? No need to rack your brains planning activities for the kids; the hotel's own programs kept them thoroughly entertained. Parents could gather, chat, and simply enjoy the sea view, zoning out peacefully. This wasn't a family trip where I *took* the kids; it was the kids having so much fun they practically gave *us* a vacation! And that fishing village near the Hard Rock Hotel? Absolutely brilliant! Going out on a boat to feed seagulls was like a full-blown party! You just hold out a piece of sausage, and a swarm of these 'white fatties' (aka seagulls) comes flapping around, their wings beating even louder than the kids' excited shouts. Some brave ones even snatch food right from your hand, acting like they're greeting an old friend! 🦅 Casting a fishing rod was even more entertaining! The captain showed us the ropes, and even if the fish we caught were barely bigger than a palm, the kids would proudly hold them up and shout, 'I caught a shark!' Even if we didn't catch anything, it was totally worth it. Feeling the sea breeze on the boat and watching the seagulls chase us was far more engaging than staring at a phone screen. There's also Discoveryland nearby, and so many water activities like jet skiing that we didn't get around to. We'll definitely save those for next time! 😄 We fed seagulls, caught 'fake sharks,' and indulged in fresh, briny seafood... Next time we visit Hard Rock, I'll first 'free-range' the kids in the hotel's family zone, then head to my sea-view balcony for a refill of coffee; and in the evening, with a belly full of seafood, I'll collapse onto the big bed, listening to the waves crash. It's the perfect way to truly experience the joy of 'a family vacation = recharging yourself.' It's settled – this Hard Rock 'trap,' in the best possible way, has got us completely hooked; we're welding ourselves in for good! 👍🏻

GGuest User## Wonderful Family Stay at The Castle Dalian
We stayed as a family for four nights at The Castle Dalian and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our spacious and beautifully decorated room on the 12th floor offered stunning views of the sea, making our stay truly memorable.
The hotel’s entrance lobby is impressively large and elegantly designed, creating a welcoming atmosphere right from the start. For families with children, there is a large play area available, which requires an additional fee. Fortunately, hotel guests receive a discounted rate.
Outside, the hotel boasts a charming small park with fantastic views over the bay and lovely landscaping—perfect for a relaxing stroll. The hotel is situated on a small hill, so the walk back to the city center is a bit long. However, the free shuttle bus service is very convenient, providing easy transport down to the city and back.
Our room was thoughtfully furnished and very spacious, including a large and well-equipped bathroom. One minor downside was that there was only one power outlet next to the bed (on one side only), and no USB ports for charging phones, which would have been a nice addition.
Breakfast and other meals at the hotel were delicious, with a rich selection of both Chinese and Western dishes to choose from. The only area for improvement would be the cleanliness of the restrooms in the breakfast restaurant, which unfortunately were often untidy and in need of more frequent attention.
The swimming pool, maintained at 27°C, was not ideal for small children as there is no separate kids’ section. Guests should also note that wearing a swim cap is mandatory. The pool area includes a mini Finnish sauna and a steam sauna integrated into the changing rooms. However, there are only loungers next to the pool, so the sauna experience was quite different from the relaxing sauna visits we are used to in Europe.
Overall, The Castle Dalian offers a lovely stay with beautiful views, excellent food, and family-friendly amenities, making it a great choice for travelers visiting the area.

ZZSHUMENA Hidden Gem Near Shenyang Taoxian Airport: Yunshangju Hotel
Nestled close to Shenyang Taoxian Airport, Yunshangju Hotel (Shenyang Taoxian Airport Branch) may be small in size, but it packs a powerful punch when it comes to offering a comfortable and convenient stay.
From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I was struck by its modern interior. The lobby was well - designed, with sleek lines and contemporary decor elements. It was a refreshing change from the often - stuffy and traditional hotel lobbies. The use of light colors and minimalistic furniture created an open and airy feel, setting a positive tone for my entire stay.
My room was a haven of cleanliness. Every surface, from the floors to the tabletops, was immaculately clean. The bedding was soft and fresh, and the pillows provided just the right amount of support. The bathroom was equally spotless, with modern fixtures and a well - maintained shower area. It was evident that the hotel staff took great pride in keeping the premises clean.
However, the real standout feature of this hotel is its airport drop - off service. I had an early - morning flight, and I was dreading the hassle of finding transportation at such an ungodly hour. But thanks to Yunshangju's reliable drop - off service, I didn't have to worry about a thing. The service was prompt, and the driver was friendly and professional. They made sure I reached the airport in plenty of time for my flight, allowing me to start my journey with peace of mind.
In conclusion, if you're looking for a clean, modern, and conveniently located hotel near Shenyang Taoxian Airport, Yunshangju Hotel (Shenyang Taoxian Airport Branch) is an excellent choice. Despite its small size, it offers all the essential amenities and a service that goes above and beyond to meet the needs of travelers. I will definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Shenyang.

The room was good, there's even a washing machine (didn't use it though). The staff was kind and helpful. Perhaps the only problem was that the room card didn't work, so I had to get a password, which also expired daily at midnight, and I had to contact the reception to get a new one. But that's not how it's supposed to be, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Overall, a great option.
