This hotel in Guilin was absolutely fantastic, a real gem! 👍👍 I simply have to rave about it. One of our biggest worries when traveling is often a remote hotel location, right? Not at all with this one! It's right on the edge of Zhengyang Pedestrian Street, and just a quick turn around the corner brings you to a myriad of snack shops. On our first night, we casually strolled around and reached Elephant Trunk Hill Park in just ten minutes. The next day, we also walked to Two Rivers and Four Lakes to see the night view. The funniest part was that every time we took a taxi back and told the driver the hotel name, they didn't even need navigation – they'd just step on the gas and we'd be there in no time. Talk about a convenient location! We booked a standard room, but the lovely lady at the front desk noticed I was staying for several nights and specially upgraded me to a mountain view room. I wasn't expecting much, but when I drew open the curtains, it was a definite 'wow' moment! The entire floor-to-ceiling window offered a direct view of Duxiu Peak, a unique small hill characteristic of Guilin. Waking up in bed, I could gaze at a real-life landscape painting, feeling as if I were living inside a scenic postcard. The bathroom had excellent wet/dry separation, and the shower had great pressure and piping hot water. What truly impressed me was the provision of laundry detergent specifically for delicates – something you rarely see in other hotels. The welcome card in the room also thoughtfully described the hotel's location and nearby attractions. This small detail really showed their consideration. Breakfast deserves a special shout-out! Their rice noodle stall always had a small queue, but it was absolutely worth the wait! The chef blanched the noodles right in front of you, and you could add as many toppings as you liked. I had two hearty bowls every single day. There was also Gongcheng Oil Tea, with a fragrant aroma, served with fried rice and *sazi* (fried dough twists). Drinking it was incredibly comforting and warming. Other items included freshly fried eggs, vegetable salad, fresh fruit, yogurt, and so on. While the variety wasn't overwhelming, every single item was substantial and of good quality. The service was also very pleasant. The young lady at the front desk remembered our room number and even our surname, always greeting us with a smile whenever we met. Especially when my friend wasn't feeling well during our stay, the cleaning lady noticed the medicine on the table and thoughtfully left extra bottles of water along with a heartwarming note. These little things really made us feel cared for. The rooftop restaurant offered spectacular views! We went up on our second night and watched the lights of Guilin city and the East-West Alley gradually twinkle on, as the distant mountain silhouettes softly faded into the night. That feeling was simply idyllic. The restaurant's dishes weren't expensive and tasted quite good. The scenery here was far superior to many dedicated scenic viewpoints. Anyway, my overall impression of this hotel is that it has everything you need without any unnecessary fluff. No extravagant or impractical facilities, but every aspect of our stay was convenient and incredibly comfortable. The price is mid-range for Guilin city center, but the overall experience genuinely exceeded expectations. If you're going to Guilin next time, I genuinely recommend trying this place. I've already decided to book here again when I bring my parents next time! Oh, one last thing: they offer several types of pillows to choose from, which is incredibly thoughtful for people like us who are particular about their pillows!!!

This was the best hotel so far in China and we had great ones before too. The hotel is beautifully decorated, the room with view on mountains and lake was magical, especially the tea drinking area where we did our own little tea ceremony. The hotel provided 2 teas for free to try, which was so kind. The owner’s dog was the cutest thing, we took her to our room to play with her. :-) the breakfast and lunch were delicious. Everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming and even the level of English spoken was better than anywhere else in China. Hopefully I‘ll be back one day!

Our room had a small balcony, which was super convenient for hanging clothes. The hotel is backed by lovely scenic views, and West Street is just a short stroll away. You can even rent electric scooters right outside the entrance. The hotel also features a swimming pool, afternoon tea, and breakfast. It was a perfect accommodation for our family of three, highly recommended by a friend, and we had a very comfortable stay. The pictures truly reflect the actual hotel!

This place is marvelous and it corresponds exactly to what the pictures promised. The rooms are beautiful, clean, modern, and with incredible views of the mountains. Staff are super helpful, always ready to support us in whatever we need. Breakfast is Chinese style, but with a few Western options. We even got a free photoshoot with the photographer Xiao Mo. It was great. We loved it and want to come back again in the future.

The hotel is fantastic! Not only does it boast an excellent location, with popular attractions like Jingjiang Prince City, Elephant Trunk Hill, Sun and Moon Pagodas, Zheng Yang Pedestrian Street, East and West Alleys, and Xiaoyao Tower all within easy reach, but the service is also exceptionally warm and attentive. From check-in to check-out, every staff member makes you feel well taken care of. What's truly remarkable is that despite being in a bustling city center, the moment you step into the hotel, all the hustle and bustle instantly fades away. This means you can enjoy your daytime explorations to the fullest and then return for a peaceful, good night's sleep. It's truly a rare find! Highly recommended.

The hotel has a nice environment and the staff are very friendly and helpful. One of the staff even helped me buy tickets and answered my questions about visiting “象鼻山”, so I could avoid buying unnecessary tickets. I had a pleasant and comfortable stay, and will definitely come back again.

An amazing hotel. Room is big, clean, comfortable, and aesthetic. Everyone was super nice and helpful. I missed the high speed rail to yangshuo and was about to taxi there but I asked the hotel and they got me a car to yangshuo for half the price. I was able to leave immediately. They also arranged a car for me to come back.

This hotel in Guilin is a great place to stay. It’s conveniently located in the heart of tourist attractions, right along the road, making it easy to explore the city. The hotel is clean, quiet, and cozy, providing a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The hotel staff, particularly the friendly girl, went above and beyond to assist us with everything we needed. She was incredibly kind and had a wonderful attitude, making our stay truly enjoyable. The hotel offers a range of amenities that are essential for travelers. There’s a washing machine, dryer, and even an iron, so you can stay fresh and comfortable during your stay. Additionally, we were able to take advantage of the complimentary Two River and Four Lakes tour and a one-hour motorbike rental. Overall, this hotel is a great choice for a comfortable and enjoyable stay in Guilin. We highly recommend it and would definitely choose it again if we return to the city.

I especially appreciated the comfortable bed, spotless bathroom, and thoughtful extras like complimentary tea, water, and quality toiletries. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable throughout my stay, which made it easy to plan my daily trips. Another highlight was the rooftop area, where I enjoyed relaxing in the evening with a view of the surrounding karst mountains – a truly magical experience. The front desk staff also went out of their way to help me book a bamboo rafting tour and gave excellent recommendations for local restaurants and cafes. Overall, Li Yu Hotel West Street offers exceptional value for money, blending great service, prime location, and comfortable accommodation. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Yangshuo, whether you’re here for adventure, culture, or just to unwind in one of China’s most picturesque towns.

Beautiful room with a magnificent view. Big bath tub overlooking the mountains. Big screen for entertainment. It is located across the river. Need to take Di Di if you want to go to the city center. However, the beautiful view of the mountains and the river make up for it.
