Clean and neat. Close to the city center. If the were no road works, there should be a tram stop. But Basel is always under construction. Breakfast is full of options. Room was small but ok for the Swiss price range. Underground parking was very convenient since there are no other options around. Aircon was good enough.
The Ibis Budget Basel is located about 800 meters from the station but close to tram lines 10 & 11. So it's a simple journey to the hotel.
The staff were helpful, offering ideas, advising us on the Basel Card (free public transport and discounts on museum entry), providing us with an umbrella for the rain.
The rooms are comfortable but no coffee or tea making facilities.
There's not much to do immediately around the hotel but with tram access, you are only minutes from being in the heart of Basel.
The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, and they were able to communicate in English, which was very helpful.
I would like to express my gratitude to Sina and the rest of the staff for their assistance in planning and organizing our last-minute travels.
The hotel provided a delicious breakfast with a variety of halal options.
We experienced a slightly uncomfortable night due to a malfunctioning air cooler, but the staff promptly provided us with fans to alleviate the situation.
Overall, it was a brilliant location, and I would stay again.
The facilities were clean, housekeeping were friendly and respectful,wi fi was very functional,Bartenders and receptionist were friendly and helpful,i wont forget Rufat and Melina for their kind gestures at the bar.😊
I made a reservation through Trip.com for 1 night (2 days), but upon arrival the hotel informed me that it was booked as 2 nights (3 days), which would result in additional charges. Later, the hotel told me they would correct it to 1 night (2 days) and that no extra charges would be applied. They also took my card for deposit purposes but assured me that no payment would be made.
However, on July 14th, I was charged twice: CHF 30 and CHF 46.8. Could you please clarify why these charges were made and arrange for a refund if they were charged in error?
Basel was our final stop in Switzerland this year, a border city spanning only 24 square kilometers. Despite its border location, it's very developed and modern.
**Environment:**
Among hotels like Victoria, Mövenpick, Radisson, and Novotel, we chose this 3-star option. It's directly opposite the SBB train station, and the main bus terminal is just 100 meters from the lobby exit. Although it's a transport hub, the area is decent; there are a few homeless people around, but its convenience makes up for it.
**Facilities:**
There's no fitness center, but you can pay to use a partner facility. The lobby bar is alright, not too crowded, with a nice corner view of the street. Coffee runs between 6-7 Swiss francs. The room isn't huge, but it's fully functional, and the bathroom is quite spacious, which is great for travelers.
**Cleanliness:**
The common areas, like the lobby and hallways, are well-maintained, and the room was very tidy. You can definitely trust the cleanliness standards of Swiss hotels.
**Service:**
Check-in and check-out were both quick. Our room was ready well in advance, and luggage storage was straightforward. They provide a Basel Card, which offers free use of all city public transport and half-price entry to some museums. I didn't particularly notice any other services.
Hotel at very convenient location, providing easy access to different means of public transport. Both the public areas and rooms of the hotel are clean and brightly lit. The room is very spacious indeed, and the water in the tub is strong and hot enough.
The breakfast was on the whole good, except that there's some recurrent confusion in the order of omelettes because of seemingly poor coordination in the manpower and order-taking arrangements. Hope that could be improved.
Have stayed at this hotel a few times now and is ideal location for connections locally and train station, plus Bus to the Airport.
Hotel gives a free public transport tickets for the duration of the stay which is very handy.
The hotel's location is excellent, right opposite the train station and a public transport hub, making it very convenient to get anywhere. They also provide free transport passes, and bus route 50, which stops right outside, goes directly to the airport for free. The hotel also offers complimentary disposable slippers.

GGuest UserVery beautiful hostel in Basel. Best quality/value coherence. Super green and stylish design. You have a lot of space where to rest: lobby, terrace or garden.
I lived in the quadrille room on the second floor. Shower and toilet are located on a general floor, nor in your private room, but still place is spacious and you have a lot of variants where to go

GGuest UserGreat hotel. Convenient location (tram stop literally out front) and walking distance to multiple local attractions. Very thoughtful and kind staff. Large, clean room. We upgraded to a room with a balcony on the 6th floor (picture from balcony included) and it was lovely. Gym also great. Breakfast was perfect. Would highly recommend!
GGuest User**Wonderful Stay at Gaia Hotel Basel!**
We had an excellent stay at Gaia Hotel Basel. The hotel's commitment to sustainability was impressive and evident in every detail. Our room was comfortable, well-equipped, and beautifully designed, with thoughtful eco-friendly touches.
We loved the delicious breakfast with organic and locally sourced options, and the convenient location near the train station made exploring Basel easy. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always willing to help.
Gaia Hotel Basel perfectly combines comfort, sustainability, and great service. We highly recommend it and would happily stay again on our next visit to Basel!
