Super friendly staff, very good location, easily accessible by public transport.
The room wasn't completely clean, sorry.
But I'd be happy to come back.
One of the best stays I've experienced in my 12 years of travel history.Jugendherberge Schloss Burgdorf Hostel offers a unique experience, being an old castle turned into a beautiful hostel. The location is simply awesome.
However, I made a silly mistake by not calling ahead to confirm my check-in time and ended up spending a night outside in the chilly weather because the reception was closed. Thankfully, a staff member arrived the next morning at 7:00 AM and I was able to check in.
The breakfast provided is good, and the cleanliness and service are both commendable. The climb from the train station takes about 20 minutes, but it's well worth it for the incredible setting.
Overall, despite my mishap, this is one of the best hostels in Switzerland and I highly recommend it.

A good hotel local to the city and accessible by tram, in a quiet location. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable with a view of the city. The room contains a fridge stocked with refreshments that you have to pay for with tea and coffee provided. The bathroom contained little touches with sealed packets of ear buds, nail file and tooth picks which is nice touch. Buffet breakfast was good with a nice variety of food catering for all tastes however the plates are quite small so be prepared for a few trips back and forth to the buffet. The pool was good but cold when first entering so be prepared ro swim a few laps ro warm up.
Luxury personalized !!
Right outside the train station, excellent service and delicious food, Sauna n steam facilities, massive room and bathroom with all the immunities slippers, bathrobe, etc
View is a 10 on 10 all three sides. It’s a paradise to look out of the window when you get up in the morning, I shall be staying at this place if I ever return to Grindelwald.
The most satisfactory hotel I have ever stayed in. Everything is perfect. The dreamy hillside is visible from the window. It's a pity that it rained on the day I went there. I will stay there again next time if I have the chance.
Overall pleasant stay, we enjoyed the room and the Spa which were very good. The cleanliness was impeccable. The room staff is very nice.
Negative point for the mention ”City view”, in fact, we had a view of the facade of the building opposite (room 221).
The breakfast is decent but the service does not follow. The staff did not offer us the hot food menu offered in addition to the buffet. We had to ask at the table next door where they had their pancakes, omelettes and others. So we ordered a cheese and bacon omelette. After 15 minutes of waiting, an omelette arrived with very very little cheese and no bacon.
Finally, when checking out, everyone who left the room received a small biscuit bear ”to thank them for their stay”. We received nothing and the checkout time was a bit rushed, we felt like we were not treated like the other customers.
The front desk service is warm and friendly. The snow-capped mountains outside the room window are like a dream. The room is clean and tidy, with a kettle. Although it is an old wooden house on the mountain, the stay experience is unique. The town is like a paradise on earth, quiet but not without fireworks. It is only a few minutes' walk from Wengen Railway Station and there is a coop supermarket. Life is very convenient. The front desk will also provide hiking route maps.

AAwu WinnieI found a hotel near Interlaken! ! It's very close to the station, about 7 or 8 minutes walk! ! Very convenient! ! And it's really beautiful! The hotel is very retro and has a sense of age! ! Overall it's good

Is pleasure of staying at a wonderful hotel that left a lasting impression. From its impeccable design to the delectable breakfast, my experience was delightful overall. Although the weather didn't quite cooperate during my stay, the hotel's fantastic service more than made up for it.
The hotel's interior design is simply stunning. Every aspect of the decor exudes elegance and sophistication. The attention to detail is evident, and it creates a warm and inviting atmosphere throughout the premises. The architecture and furnishings are tastefully chosen, providing a luxurious and comfortable ambiance for guests.
One of the highlights of this hotel is undoubtedly the breathtaking view. Unfortunately, I encountered some bad luck with the weather during my stay, which limited my ability to fully enjoy the surroundings. However, even through the mist and rain, I could sense the beauty that lay beyond the hotel's windows. I can only imagine how magical it would be on a clear day.
The service at this hotel is truly exceptional. The staff members are attentive, friendly, and go above and beyond to ensure guests have a memorable experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt warmly welcomed and well taken care of. The hotel's commitment to customer satisfaction is evident in every interaction, making the stay truly enjoyable.
breakfast was simply delicious! The array of options available was impressive, catering to various tastes and dietary preferences. this hotel left a lasting impression on me. The well-designed interiors, the mesmerizing view (even through the rain), the exceptional service, and the mouthwatering breakfast made my stay truly remarkable. If you're looking for a hotel that combines elegance, comfort, and impeccable service, this is the place to be.
GGuest UserI always like to be honest in my reviews. As a solo traveller of 71 years I booked a single room, which was on the top floor. The lift only went up to the second floor but on my arrival my suitcase was taken up to my room for me. The room was small but had everything I needed, even a writing desk and a washbasin. I am a light sleeper and the only downside to this room was that the bed is right next to the wall of the room next door, which could really do with more sound proofing. I was there for a week and had a variety of changes to that room next door, some very loud. Lucky for me, I took silicone earplugs with me. The room also had a sloping ceiling, where the eaves are. I am only 5'4” and banged my head a few times. BUT the view from the window was worth it. See photo. FABULOUS!!!!
I really enjoyed my stay. The owner Jean-Louis always greeted me in the morning, when I had my early morning cuppa before breakfast. Armed was always there to help too.
The breakfast was excellent with a vast array of food to suit most peoples' needs. This ranging from cereals with dried fruits and nuts, cheese and meats, bacon and scrabbled egg, yoghurts, many different breads and croissants, jams and fresh fruit. This topped up with freshly made coffee and tea at your table.
There is also an area where the hotel provides quality teas of so many different types and a machine that prepares freshly ground coffee whenever you want it. Milk is provided too.
I could fault this hotel and I would like to thank everyone for making my stay and pleasant and enjoyable one. I look forward to my return when in Switzerland.
BBerduajaMy stay at the Hotel was absolutely fantastic! The bed was incredibly comfortable, perfect for a restful night’s sleep. The Wi-Fi was fast and stable, perfect for working or streaming movies. The bathroom was spotless and well-maintained, making every shower enjoyable and invigorating. Additionally, the towels were exceptionally soft, providing a luxurious feel worthy of a five-star hotel. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a perfect stay!

AAnonymous UserThe Aarburg Hotel & Café is a charming little spot in Interlaken, just a 15-minute walk from Interlaken West train station. While it’s tempting to take the shortcut, I’d recommend sticking to the main road, especially in snowy weather—it’s much easier for pulling luggage.
Check-in was smooth and efficient, but do note there are no lifts in this cozy hotel. Carrying heavy bags up the narrow stairs was a bit of a workout, so pack light if you can.
One of the highlights of my stay was definitely the coffee—it lived up to all the glowing Google reviews. Breakfast was simple but wholesome, with fresh bread, croissants, yogurt, and healthy toppings like dried berries, almonds, and chia seeds. The café is pet-friendly, so don’t be surprised to see a few furry friends around.
The room itself was modest but comfortable. However, as the building is wooden, sounds tend to carry. We wondered if we were bothering other occupants but thankfully, no complaints! The location is peaceful, away from the main road, though the church bells that sound at intervals through the night was a little disturbing on the first night.
With a supermarket near the train station for quick snacks and essentials, this hotel is both convenient and quiet. Perfect for couples looking for a laid-back stay. I’d happily book here again if I return to Interlaken.
WWanderfieVery nice design hotel, new and spacious, but what it’s lacking is the warmness of the staff. Only the new girl working there is pretty nice, the rest of the staff has lukewarm attitude. The first room I got was nice, they gave me a double bed instead of a single bed that I booked but upon enter, there was a pair of socks hanging on the toilet door. Called the housekeeping and they removed it but also realised the room is very hot, but AC is not adjustable as it is centralised. So they gave me a fan instead. Later at night I also realised it was pretty noisy as the alfresco of the restaurant is right beneath my room. And then the toilet shower is broken. I tried calling the reception and housekeeping at 9-10pm but nobody pick up which I assumed it’s probably not 24hrs service. I bear with the broken shower. Next day morning I asked to change the room to quieter one but I need to get all my stuff out by 11am which I did. I went to the reception and told them about the broken shower, with no apologies, the guy just say ya ya, that’s an easy fix. I’m still glad they changed the room for me. But like I say still hope for a better service with the money I paid. Also not enough hanging area in the bathroom, especially when the first room I got… no hanging area at all, so can’t hang towel or clothes.
