We stayed at Chinchilla Motor Inn as a family and had a fantastic experience. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained — perfect for a family stopover. A special mention to the lovely lady at reception who was incredibly helpful and welcoming. Highly recommend for anyone passing through or staying in Chinchilla!

My personal experience staying here was great. Pros: 1. The corner floor-to-ceiling windows offered fantastic views and natural light. 2. The hotel's Wi-Fi was fast and had excellent coverage. 3. The buffet breakfast offered a good variety and quality, even having xiao long bao (soup dumplings). 4. Although the room was small, it was well-designed, and all essential functions were met. 5. The bathroom also had great natural light, along with a full frosted floor-to-ceiling glass panel. If you're visiting in the summer, you could easily hand wash your delicates and hang them in the bathroom, using the sliding door to help air dry them. They'd be dry in half a day. Cons: 1. Trip.com indicated that there was Chinese service available, but I specifically confirmed with the front desk, and the hotel does not offer it. 2. The bedside table in this room type was quite small, making space a bit tight for personal items (as shown in P5). 3. This room type didn't come with a proper chair and desk (but this wasn't a big issue for me). 4. The hotel is located on a small peninsula, so you have to walk a little extra each time you go out.

As a solo traveler, I found this hostel to be excellent. It felt very safe and was wonderfully quiet. The only minor downside was the uphill walk to get there, which was a bit challenging with luggage. In the evenings, the surrounding area was quite quiet, and food options were limited. Interestingly, there were many Korean guests during my stay. I shared a 4-bed dorm with one Malaysian and two Korean roommates.

1. **Prime Location:** Situated right on the Cairns Esplanade, it's a mere 2-minute walk to the Reef Fleet Terminal (the departure point for Great Barrier Reef tours) and 3 minutes to the Esplanade Lagoon. Restaurants and night markets are plentiful nearby, and a taxi ride to the airport takes about 13 minutes. 2. **Amenities & Experience:** Most modern rooms feature private balconies with city or harbor views. The free Wi-Fi is stable, and the outdoor pool is comfortable. The Bushfire Flame Grill Brazilian BBQ has a great reputation (breakfast/dinner are extra). Paid parking is limited, and street-facing rooms occasionally experience noise. 3. **Service:** There's a 24-hour front desk with multi-lingual staff who can assist with booking Great Barrier Reef/rainforest excursions. Luggage storage is seamless. 4. **Drawbacks:** Parking can be tight during peak season, some bathrooms are a bit dated, and breakfast isn't particularly cheap.

Very close to the main street, just a few minutes walk, very convenient. There is a waiter who speaks some Chinese, very nice! The sea view is not wide enough, the facilities are relatively old, the food is not delicious, maybe it's because of different tastes. The bed smelled at night, fortunately we only booked one night and went to another hotel the next day.

The location of the hotel is very convenient - 10 min walk away from the convention centre. The train station and bus station is nearby and the walk to the nearby turbocat makes the hotel in a prime location for transport. The front desk was efficient and pleasant. Although I check in early and the rooms were not ready, they were nice to allow us to use the facilites on the 21st floor to relax and shower. Also on the 21st floor is the rooftop bar which has the best views of South bank and the skyline. The Vista King Suite was a huge room with large bathroom sitting area and the bed was super comfortable. It took me awhile to find the door, which was hidden behind a glass door enclosure to block out noise. Housekeeping was efficient and meticulous. Breakfast was either in the cafe on G/F or the 21st floor. Servings were hearty and filling from the a la carte menu.

Only complaint is the location, because buses to Brisbane center has long waiting time. Though it forces this hikikomori to walk more along the beautiful river coast. It is advisable to rent a vehicle beforehand. Also there seems not to be convenience store/supermarket nearby. As for amenities, there is laundry + dryer (AUD 4 + 4) and shared kitchen. But there are no towel, slipper, toothbrush/shaver/shampoo/body wash, so remember to bring your own.

A little subtropical oasis right in the middle of town. Conventionally located in the town centre with access to shops and businesses, next door to Woolies and a short walk to the beach. And yet it’s a quiet, peaceful and lush spot to stay. Spotlessly clean. Lovely staff.

GGuest UserGreat location for the gabba and the small kitchen area with fridge was a bonus. It is advertised as with a swimming pool but it is no more than a jacuzzi with only 6 sun loungers, a really small space. The room wasn’t as clean as u would have expected , floors were dirty on both tiles and carpet and the shelves were very dusty

GGuest UserI was very satisfied. There is a shop near the hotel, which is very helpful. Due to its location, it is a place where you do not have to eat. The hotel employees are very nice.

GGuest UserHad to wait while one of our 2 rooms was made up but the room that was supposed to have been made up had only had the beds done. Toothpaste splattered across the bathroom mirror, toilet unscrubbed, no face washers, hand towel or bath mat though there were fresh towels on the beds. The kitchen hadn't been done as there was no dish cloth or liquid for cleaning only 2 tea cups, no mugs and the fridge contained half eaten yoghurt, a full bag of grapes and a 1/4 of rotten watermelon its juices all crusted under it. The well frosted freezer contained a partially eaten iceblock frosted into the freezer, obviously it had been there long enough to be frosted to it. The kitchen had not been stocked with tea coffee sugar or most importantly for me milk (being a little fussy I bring my own tea and coffee) I have doubts about if it was vaccumed due to the pills as several other items on the carpet. I mention the pills as we had young children with us. The aircon remote had no batteries or back to it but we just swopped out the batteries for the T.V. remote The cleaner sent to remedy this politely made it clear that she wasn't the one who'd made up the room. She cleaned the mirror restocked the face washers, hand towel and bath mat, removed the food from the fridge and freezer and upon request gave me a cloth for me to scrub off the crusted watermelon juice. The beds were clean (I checked) with fresh sheets and comfortable. They were clear that they expected courtesy to others by not making alot of noise late at night or slamming doors. The pool area could have been cleaned. I don't know where the dirt came from but it was there when we arrived and still there when we left. The lobby chairs I wouldn't sit in, needed a good scrub with soap and water. They unlocked the freezer at the Cafe late one night for us to buy ice cream. The staff were helpful and polite. The kids loved playing ping pong and swimming.

GGuest UserI was lucky to choose this hotel in Brisbane during the Christmas holiday. The suite has two large beds, a kitchen with a dishwasher, two sinks in the bathroom, separate wet and dry areas, and a beautiful swimming pool. The location is also good. There is a bus but the train requires more than ten minutes of walking up and down the hill, which is quite tiring.

GGuest UserOnly lost one point from me, because of the WiFi signal but I can live without I'm just glad I don't have the kids with me. Personally apart from that my stay was flawless. It has the perfect, location, service, security, cleanliness, not overly priced and I've also saved a lot of cigarettes (because I'm too lazy to walk outside to have one). Then there's the bed!! Wow the bed is lovely, on arrival I had things to do but I laid down for a ”little bit” and I woke up at midnight 😬😮😁 I will definitely be returning in the future. .

TTaishanshendiaoxialvHotel location: Super convenient, right outside is George Square and Queen Street. You can even see the clock tower of the square from your room. Truly irreplaceable. Hardware facilities: The space isn't huge, but the facilities are quite complete. Although it's an old hotel, the cleanliness is still good. Service: We stayed for 2 nights and noticed there was only one bottle of milk. We told the staff, and they immediately brought a whole pack, which was great. However, the bathroom fan was broken. We called maintenance, and they came to look at it but couldn't fix it on the spot, saying they'd come back the next afternoon. But when we returned to our room late the next evening, it still wasn't fixed, and we weren't informed why. This needs improvement.

KKate CanovaCan I put 6 stars? :) This place is definitely one of the best hostels ever. Where do I start from? Reception: everyone is always super kind and helpful, including offering help with luggage and everything else. The hostel looks very new and modern, so beautiful! Room: it's great! Big enough, with hangers, curtains on each bed (amazing!), plugs and light for every bed and also some extra plugs around the room. Bed was very comfortable and I felt great there! Bathroom: always clean, soap in every sink and in every shower, big and nice! Kitchen: incredibly well equipped and open 24 hours. There are 2 doors separating it from the rooms so it's never noisy even if people are there in the night. They provide big boxes that fit in the (many) fridges so that it's all tidy and clean. Goodbye the hundreds of Woolworths bags and messy fridges with no space for other people's food! Even the cups, the dishes were perfectly clean, like everything else. I was seriously impressed, they did the cleaning multiple times a day. Free salt, oil, tea and coffee always available. Common areas: really beautiful, full of books, games, with a huge TV and many tables and beanbags. Events: they actually organize social events and the staff helps the ”new” people to socialize. That's so important! Many long termers don't really mind about meeting new people but if the staff does his part then it gets a lot easier. And here, they do. On my first night they had a free cheese and wine event and we got a lot of tasty food and wine. Location: perfect, just above Woolworths and a few minutes walking from everything. The Little Drifter feels more like an hotel than a hostel and I really don't know how people can rate it low. As great as it is I would still like to suggest some possible improvement. Maybe at the Reception you can print a map with a few info about the hostel on the back. I didn't understand where the boxes for the kitchen were, I didn't find the labels. Also it took me 3 days to find out that I had another toilet a lot closer to my room, so for 3 days I was crossing a very long hallway in the middle of the night when I had to go. I also didn't like the fact that I had to open the doors through the app and I discovered later that there is a code to open it as well (I try to leave my phone in my room as much as possible). This hostel is a little more expensive than other places but it's totally worth it! If I'll be back in Cairns I won't hesitate to come here. Thanks!
