This hostel is a bit of a walk from the center and beaches, but it’s conveniently located near the national park. The staff is friendly, and I appreciated the shuttle service to and from the bus stop and town. However, the breakfast options were lacking—just white bread and cereals, with no fresh fruit, eggs, or gluten- and dairy-free alternatives.. The price is too high for what you get.

The landlord is very friendly, very friendly, the room is very comfortable, although not big but very warm, the equipment is perfect, next time I have the opportunity to stay, it is a perfect experience. Hygienic: very clean Environment: very beautiful

This is the second time I stayed with Dorsett, the last time is in February 2025, I had a great experience so I returned. This time I have to move my room 3 times. The first room due to no hot water on the tap, the second one due to the shower head hose burst with leaking spray, the manager was very apologetic for the repeated inconvenience and upgraded us to a executive room with complimentary breakfast. While I am a bit annoyed with the repeated moving, I am impressed with the manager's gesture for keeping customers happy. The another thing I like the hotel to improve is to keep the outdoor pool may be two degrees warmer so that hotel guests can still enjoy the beautiful pool in winter, especially the spa area.

I thought the staff was amazing and environment too. Very disappointing that there total focus is making money. They charged for $60 for late check out even though no-one going into the room. I arrived 9pm on first night and informed them of this so. I do understand people take advantage but work with the honest ones. The cleaning was there still too. Now days it's all about making extra money. The bathroom shower overflowing into the centre room floor waste. It is a child friendly hotel which means alot of banging running etc. Wish the room was more noise proof.you can here upstairs alot. Also neibouring rooms.

The location is good near to CBD you can walk, but I don't know why in my room there are a lot of bed bugs. But when my friend stays in there, she doesn't get any bed bug attack

We arrived earlier than the check in time and the lady at the desk allowed us to check in earlier which was great because this was our first time visiting Townsville city.

Location is right front of big shopping centre. 4mibts to Rusty fruits and vegie market. Only 15 mints to esplanades st. Room is clean , bath room clean Just kitchen need to update . Bit rustic around water area. But overall , excellent service and friendly staff!!

Always love staying here, best hostel in Brisbane, and I’ve stayed in way more. Best price, clean, nice pods making it feel more private. There’s a small kitchen, relaxing space, and great socials to meet other people

There were so many things wrong with this very tired hotel. TV remote broken, beds so old and soft that they rolled into the middle, no plug for bath, impossible to set shower temperature, only supplied 3 towels for 4 people, unheated swimming pool, run down fitness area, tennis court while useful is literally falling apart and have to be careful when opening gates due to loads of rusted broken sharp metal edges. Lifts are ineffective and either take forever to arrive or Goto the wrong floor or have the wrong announcements. Wouldn't stay again.
