My stay at this hotel was a wonderful experience! The hotel was priced at 500 euros per night for my room... Personally, I thought it was well worth it! This is because (1) A light course dinner is included (2) Breakfast buffet is included (3) It costs 60 euros round trip & takes about 1.5 hours to climb up here, so you can't get up and down so much and you don't know the weather on the mountain. The mountain railroad ends at 20:00 at night, so from then until morning, the top of the mountain will be monopolized by hotel guests. So, considering all these factors, I thought it was rather a good deal. In fact, I was able to capture the cloudless Matterhorn on my way home after checking out at the very end! So I recommend this hotel

Fantastic place to stay in Zermatt, located in the middle of the village quite convenient to the Glacier Paradjse and Gornegratt access points. Rooms are spacious, new and very clean. Highly recommend especially with their included breakfast with includes views of the Matterhorn! Would be even greater if kettles or a shuttle service from the main station was available.

The check-in time must be before 16:00, because if it is later, there will be no cable car to the top of the mountain. The hotel is on the mountain, opposite the Golden Summit of the Matterhorn, which has great scenery. The hotel service is very good, providing dinner and breakfast.

The hotel is not far from the train station, but it is quite tiring to drag the suitcase uphill for several hundred meters along the main commercial street. The key is that there is an uneven gravel road. The hotel is basically at the end of the road. It is antique and a bit old. The room we booked is the most expensive one in this trip to Switzerland. Because it is a view room with two balconies, one balcony can see the top of the Matterhorn, provided that it is not blocked by clouds, and the other balcony is close to the road, so you can watch the sheep going to and from get off work every day. The room is clean and tidy, and quite spacious. The breakfast is pretty good. Zermatt is a good place. The Matterhorn train plus hiking feels great. The scenery is so shocking. It is best to stay for two nights if you are physically fit.

Considering the location in Zermatt, I think this hotel is very good value for money. If I come to Zermatt again, I will consider this hotel. The information at the reception is also in Japanese. Although it was a mountain view room, you cannot see the Matterhorn. There is a spa (sauna), but I did not use it.

For nature enthusiasts, the iconic Matterhorn viewpoint is a mere 20-minute walk (and climb) away. The room was a cozy haven, perfectly insulated from the cold without ever feeling stuffy. I especially appreciated the heated shower rack, which kept my towel warm – a small but thoughtful touch. However, the bathroom is on the smaller side, which might be a tight fit for taller individuals. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise. While simple, the variety offered made it feel sumptuous. The yoghurt stood out, and the availability of fresh fruits added a refreshing touch. Being an older establishment, you might notice the occasional sound of water running through the pipes or the mechanical hum of the lift – a minor trade-off for the hotel’s character and charm. Despite these quirks, Hotel Parnass has won me over. It’s an easy choice for a return visit to Zermatt, offering a warm, well-located, and comfortable stay.

The location of the hotel is excellent, the sanitation is not bad, and the service of the hotel staff is also good. The only thing that is not good is that the room is a bit small, and the breakfast selection is relatively monotonous.
