I think it's a bit far from the center but they have a shuttle service at specific hours so it made things easier. They are very attentive with the request of using the shuffle service too. Cozy onsen area, water not as hot tho. huge and clean rooms.

One of the nearest accommodation to Gala Yuzawa Ski Resort and shuttle via a mini bus is available. Shuttle bus goes to Echigo Yuzawa station too. It is walking distance from Gala Yuzawa. Approach any staff at the Ski Resort with the telephone number of the hotel to request for it. Stayed there for a few night for snowboarding. Breakfast selection was fabulous with two local Japanese sake available! The room is big, clean and well furnished. It even come with a great view! Onsen street which is the street lined with restaurant is 10-15mins walk away. I recommend making reservation for dinner if you do not intend to go out for dinner. Great service is one of the key reason why I would return to stay!

We love it so much, our Room get the best view, its like painting but its real. Hopefully next time can come back again. For the breakfast its delicious with alot option. Thank you for the hospitality takahan hotel.❤️❤️❤️❤️

The hotel rooms are warm and comfortable, the scenery outside the window is pleasant, the location is excellent, there are shuttle buses for transportation, but it is more convenient to drive. The hotel service attitude is particularly good, the waiters are enthusiastic, there is Chinese service, and help is provided in time. After skiing, soaking in hot springs, eating kaiseki cuisine, and drinking sake, it is really a pleasure.

Yasunari Kawabata wrote about the hotel where he stayed in Snow Country. However, please note that the hot spring hotel does check in based on the number of people. I was a little confused when I checked in, but later I continued to check in at a very reasonable price. The location is very good and suitable for taking pictures

A very historic and traditional hotel, but the surroundings and rooms of the hotel are very clean, I stayed in the main building mountain view twin room - with bathroom, with private shower and bath with a long table with washbasin, and a large washroom with washbasin with long table. A living room with a sofa, with a large TV and Wi-Fi, there is a two-bed double room (Western style) and unbeatable snow mountain view, I love it! Environmental facilities are very satisfactory. The most surprising thing is that it has a Bluetooth amplifier, which is a must for me😆😉 The hotel has a shuttle bus to Echigo-Yuzawa StationOne half hour or so every day during designated hours,very convenient with a box walk only 18minutes very close to the station. In addition, the whole hotel staff service attitude is sincere, friendly, unbeatable. The private hot spring is very clean, because the room is fully rented, I book three nights one of the night to change the next room, but the hotel arranged that I do not have to move room, very courteous 👍 Don't underestimate the older employees, but can also communicate in simple English service considerate and have a place to put snowboards and snowshoes, no need to put on the guest room. In short, I give 150 points to this hotel with employees, I would choose to stay at this hotel again!

The hotel is relatively old, but the service is very good, and the parking problem was solved in a timely manner. The hot spring and breakfast are average, and the dinner is good. This stay is mainly for skiing. The front desk can call the ski shop to pick you up, and when you return to the hotel, they will also call the ski shop to pick you up, which is very convenient. There are many people renting ski equipment in Gala, so it is very convenient to rent at the front desk.

Highly recommended. A very historic hot spring hotel, a little far from Yuzawa Station. The hotel has a shuttle bus, which usually leaves on the hour and arrives at 8pm at the latest. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to call them. The old man at the front desk speaks good English, and there is also a guy who speaks Chinese. In the evening, put on the hotel's yukata and go to the hot spring. The hot spring is open from afternoon to evening. After the bath, there is a lounge with two flavors of popsicles, facial masks, and table tennis🏓.

Very good hotel, I should have stayed one more day. This is the prototype hotel of Snow Country, with a long history. The Chinese brother provided good service. Echigo Yuzawa is so beautiful, the hot spring is comfortable, the breakfast is not bad, there is a shuttle bus, I will come back next time.

A hotel with a cultural background and beautiful scenery. The room facilities, services, breakfast and dinner are all very good. We went skiing and the free shuttle bus took us to the Gala Ski Resort and Echigo Yuzawa Station.

Very attentive service. There is a Chinese-speaking front desk. It’s super convenient to use the car. We picked up and dropped off at the ski resort. The driver was very enthusiastic. We took the Shinkansen from the ski resort to Tokyo the next day. The front desk directly helped us deliver our luggage to GALA Snow Resort. Field, so convenient. The room is large, although it is a bit old, but it is very well maintained. There is also a free sake lees facial mask in the large bathing hot spring on the first floor. My skin was very smooth and tender the next morning. Coffee and ice cream are also provided for free, and it's particularly refreshing after bathing. The furniture in the study room is all made of old camphor wood. Sitting there and reading a book, the smell of fragrance is very healing. We arrived on Monday and originally wanted to make a reservation for dinner the next day, but unfortunately the chef was closed on Tuesday. You can also dine directly in the hot spring street or Yuzawa Station, and there are almost no surprises. On Monday and Tuesday, there are slightly fewer people in the ski resort, which makes the experience better. Thank you again to all the service staff at Gaoban for giving us a particularly pleasant holiday experience. Next time, we will come again.

We caught up with the first autumn typhoon in Shanghai's history. It was a heavy rainstorm and the flight was delayed for more than three hours. Fortunately, we were able to arrive at the hotel at more than 10 o'clock that night. We soaked in the hot springs that night, which relieved most of the fatigue of the journey. The next day, at breakfast, I saw my son, who was nearly 70 years old, bringing his mother, who was over 90 years old, to stay at the hotel. I was touched by the care for the elderly during breakfast. At dinner, three couples of old friends drank a little too much and talked loudly. Drinking and singing are not common in general hotels, but I felt their happiness throughout the whole process. When I left, the waiter apologized for this and told me that I was an old guest of the hotel and was already in my early 80s. In fact, I don't mind at all. At such an old age, they must be old friends for many years. Their families are healthy and complete. Of course, they are very happy to have a party. They are so lucky. The hotel is full of feelings and very warm. It feels a little different from the hotels that ordinary tourists often go to. Regarding food, breakfast is buffet (mainly Japanese, but also coffee and bread), and dinner is banquet cuisine. The taste is relatively light and traditional, which is my personal favorite. The rice is of course very good, especially soft, sweet, and distinct. The new rice from the famous rice producing area is delicious. Regarding the hot springs, the water temperature is very comfortable and you can soak for a long time at a time. The stay experience is quite special, very Japanese, and it is also a hot spring hotel where you can easily relax.
