Shiyan Dufu Youth Hostel (Xi'an Bell and Drum City Wall) Reviews

This stay was one of the worst so far on my trip the cleanliness of the rooms was acceptable however the state of the bathroom was truly despicable. You are lucky you can't smell pictures. The showers and toilets were both really unhygienic and i wondered if they were cleaned once in the past month. Would not recommend

The room is nice, spacious and had a comfortable bed. The common area is also nice, with a microwave, kettle, fridge and plenty of space for eating. The only downside was the bathroom, despite the cleaning lady's efforts, it was always a bit smelly and there were no toiletries such as toilet paper or liquid soap for hands and body. The surrounding area is good, with a few convenience stores and restaurants.

I really enjoyed the location of that hostel. The street is lively with cool restaurants and bars. Rioms were quiet and clean. Showers and bathrooms were missing basic hygiene items like soap. Overall good experience.

The hostel has a lot of potential with a rooftop, great WiFi and comfortable beds, as well as lockers and a welcome package including some soap and slippers. However, the cleanness definitely needs improvement. Especially in the bathroom! (And under the bunks) I had a bunk bed in a room for 14 guys (not sure if there are more rooms for guys), so at least 14 guys have only 3 toilets and 2 showers. That’s not much but worst of all is if it’s not cleaned enough. With this amount of guests cleaning it multiple times a day is absolutely necessary. So overall, something that can and needs to be improved

Great location though a bit far from metro station, but you get to meet other travelers there. Room was a bit squeezy and there was not much space to open my bag

The hostel location is great, it is within the Xi'An castle wall. Service is good and flexible. The only thing to improve is the toilet facility, no toilet paper is provided which will cause inconvenient.

I booked this hostel only because breakfast was included in the price. The first day I was given something absolutely disgusting and the second day I had to prove that I should have breakfast because they wouldn't give me any. Apart from that the hostel is very cool, friendly

We stayed here for two nights the staff was very nice and friendly and the location of hotel as like the mid of xian from where you can go every where very easily the environment is so good highly hygienic I really recommend it to the students and those who came in groups on trip

The staff is nice and helpful. However, the place is not so clean.

I stayed 4 nights and it was very good. I was welcomed by Hedy, and she helped me all my stay here. Beds and mattresses are very comfortable. The location I the city is very good, I really recommend this place.

Toilets where dirty no paper. Lots of mosquitoes in the room. Great service and atmosphere. The room was in good condition but the public places where from okay to dirty.

The showers and toilets were always dirty, there’s not even hand soap at the sink to wash your hands. The bunk beds were noisy and the top is open and mine had a ceiling light right above it, so when some inconsiderate person decides to turn the lights on in the middle of the night it shines right in your face.  They smoke in all the common areas. The toilet, the hallway, the lounge, the balcony, etc. so if you don’t smoke it’s pretty annoying.  They keep the laundry washer locked so people can’t use it without paying them first, which I get however it doesn’t allow the washer to dry and it smelled like mildew.  The top room with balcony was not worth it, there’s no real view and it’s just somewhere for people to smoke.  I paid CNY 216 for 3 nights (maybe because of the holiday) and I would say it’s worth about half of that. For the price I paid I would not recommend it and I would probably not stay here again unless it was much cheaper than other options.
