Hotels in Dangkou Ancient Town Scenic Area, Wuxi

I recently had the pleasure of staying at and I must say it was a delightful experience. The hotel staff was exceptionally kind, reliable, and accommodating. They went out of their way to assist me, even after I had checked out. Their level of service and responsiveness truly exceeded my expectations. One of the key highlights for me was the hotel's cleanliness. As a parent with a crawling baby, cleanliness is of utmost importance, and I was impressed by how well-maintained and spotless the hotel was. The rooms were tidy, and the hotel provided all the necessary amenities, including clean towels, hair dryers, toothpaste, and soap. I particularly loved the fact that our room had a balcony. It was a perfect spot to unwind in the evenings. I appreciated the option to close the curtains and enjoy the balcony while our daughter slept peacefully inside. The hotel's location was convenient, with two nearby stations providing easy access to Shanghai. The staff even provided helpful directions and recommendations, such as the address of a nearby supermarket when we needed to buy supplies. Despite being a smaller hotel, the quality of service surpassed my expectations. The staff's ability to communicate in English was a definite advantage for us as foreigners, making our stay even more comfortable. In terms of dining, the food at the hotel was satisfactory, offering a regular Chinese menu. I particularly enjoyed their noodles, and the friendly service with a smile made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Overall, I had a fantastic stay at. The combination of excellent service, cleanliness, and helpful staff made it a memorable experience. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, reliable, and friendly place to stay.

The TV was quite small, and some of the electronic controls were a bit tricky, requiring staff assistance. The room's air conditioning automatically reset to a warmer temperature whenever we left, so it was never cool upon our return, and our pre-set temperature settings were ignored. The breakfast buffet selection was quite limited, and servers didn't proactively clear tables during the meal. At the noodle station, the attendant seemed to treat guests differently; she would ask locals if they wanted fish soup with their wontons, but out-of-town guests were simply given regular seaweed soup by default without being asked. The hotel doesn't have an underground parking garage, which meant parking on the surface lot subjected our car to intense sun on hot days.

Although the hotel was booked in advance, the twin room was fully booked, so I contacted the hotel several times to ask if there was any available. I asked to ask again when I checked in that day. If someone canceled, I could exchange. I didn't expect to be upgraded to a tatami parent-child room for free when I checked in. It was much larger than the original double room, and it was no problem for a family of four or five to stay. The hotel has a superior geographical environment and is very convenient to Meili Ancient Town, Gonghu Bay Wetland Park, Dangkou Ancient Town and other attractions. The hotel breakfast is rich and varied, and the fruits are fresh. The reception staff is very friendly, including the hotel cleaning lady who is also doing her best to serve. The check-in experience is great, and I will stay there next time if I have the chance.

This was my second stay during the National Day holiday, and it was a truly unpleasant experience! Checking in was already quite late that day, and the front desk accommodatingly found me a relatively quiet room, but they didn't tell me it faced a wall. I arrived to the room exhausted from the trip and rested, leaving the curtains closed. When I finally opened them at night, I was stunned to find my balcony facing a wall—literally, a room without windows. Given the late hour, I didn't contact the front desk to change rooms. I called the front desk early to explain the situation, but they said they would notify the person in charge and contact me. No one from the hotel contacted me until I checked out. When I asked the waitress, she finally brought out the so-called person in charge, but aside from an apology, she offered no positive response. It was incredibly perfunctory. Seeing my dissatisfaction, they offered to get me a box of mooncakes, or perhaps a taxi fare. But seeing that I'd called the business service, they said that wasn't an option. It was as if I was just asking for something small, like a taxi fare. It was truly ridiculous! Even when I reached the parking lot, they still showed no positive attitude. Is this how a five-star hotel in a tourist city handles things? I don't need a mooncake or a few dozen dollars in taxi fares! Shouldn't hotels proactively address problems, rather than evade or perfunctorily address them? When guests book your hotel, the environment is their primary consideration, but service should also be a factor. I choose a five-star hotel for its excellent service! This was a truly terrible experience, and I left Wuxi feeling unhappy during the Mid-Autumn Festival!

The hotel environment was not as good as expected. The gym had become a clothes drying rack. The hotel facilities were also quite old. The breakfast was not very rich. There were two door locks in the room that had problems. It must have been a long time since anyone had used them. Overall, I felt quite disappointed!

You get what you pay for, the place to live is quiet

This stay was really great! The room was very clean and tidy, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the sleep was particularly fragrant. There is plenty of hot water and the quality of toiletries is also very good. The younger sister at the front desk was very enthusiastic. Check-in and check-out were very fast. He also took the initiative to recommend nearby food and play routes to us, which was super intimate. The overall price is very high, I will choose this one next time I come here, I highly recommend it to everyone!

Bring the kids out to play. It is a good choice to come here on November. The camp is in the park. The environment is good. There are not many people. The experience is also very good. A store that has just opened, if you drive by yourself, parking at the door is free. It takes about 30 minutes to drive to Huishan Ancient Town or Nanchang Street (the peak traffic is slow), there is free drinking water and coffee at the front desk, the room is large (after all, it is not in the city). The bath water is also very large. I was tired from playing and came back to take a comfortable bath. The front desk lady was intimate and polite. I stayed for two days and I was very satisfied overall! recommend!

Overall, it's pretty good. Why does the price keep getting higher? The hotel includes breakfast, is clean, and has a large room. The service is average, though. Some staff are nice, while others aren't.
