Hotels in Taihu Yuantouzhu/Liyuan Scenic Area, Wuxi

This hotel is quite upscale, truly living up to its five-star rating. My spouse and I traveled during the off-season, avoiding the cherry blossom festival rush. We booked a twin-bedded lake view room, which was excellent, well-equipped, and very clean. The large window offered a beautiful view of Lihu Lake and Liyuan Garden, with picturesque lake and mountain scenery. Yuantouzhu Scenic Area is right across the lake. The hotel even provides complimentary speedboat tickets to Yuantouzhu, but my spouse gets seasick, so we opted for a taxi instead. It was a very short ride, only 5 or 6 minutes. Once inside Yuantouzhu, we took a sightseeing bus to the ferry terminal and then a boat to Taihu Immortal Island – the scenery there was absolutely stunning. Liyuan Garden is also directly opposite the hotel, and they provided complimentary boat tickets for a cruise around Lihu Lake. The shimmering water and reflections of the mountains were lovely. Liyuan Garden itself is beautiful, rich in history and culture, with the romantic legends of Fan Li and Xi Shi. Strolling along the lake amidst the pavilions, terraces, waterside structures, and long corridors was incredibly pleasant. The hotel service was excellent. Whether it was the housekeeping staff or the staff in the lobby and restaurant, everyone was polite and enthusiastic. We stayed for 3 nights, and although it cost us a month's pension, it was worth it. The restaurant food was also good, except for our last dinner, where both the meat and greens served were quite tough, making them difficult for us seniors to chew. With the increasing number of elderly travelers, it would be wonderful if the hotel could be even more accommodating to their needs in this regard.

The location is good, only 1.8 kilometers from Lihu Light, and next to MixC shopping mall. The front desk service is very friendly and responsible. The lobby is very spacious, and overall it's worth the price. The only drawback is the poor soundproofing; noises from the next room, such as shouts, door closing, and washing noises, are quite clear, which is annoying.

The hotel is conveniently located close to scenic spots, making it easy to get around. There are also shopping malls nearby with a good selection of dining options. The hotel rooms are comfortable, spacious, and very clean. The front desk staff were warm and professional, and even upgraded us to a lake view room. The housekeeping staff were also friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was plentiful, and they even had Wuxi xiaolongbao (steamed buns). The only downside was the bad weather during our stay.

My family and I have a wonderful stay and received excellent hospitality during our recent stay at the Grand Kingtown Hotel. The room was spacious, exceptionally clean and very comfortable. The view was absolutely great and made the entire experience even more enjoyable and relaxing. I would also like to especially thank your staff (in particular菜菜）for the superb service and warm hospitality throughout our stay. Her attentiveness and professionalism truly made a difference and made me feel very welcomed. I truly appreciate the excellent service and look forward to staying with you again in the future.

No hotel is perfect, but some definitely have standout features. Taihu Hotel, I highly recommend it! Even though it's called Taihu Hotel, it's not directly on Lake Taihu. Only some of the lake-view rooms actually offer a glimpse of the lake, and there are no public areas with lake views either. So, if you're staying at Taihu Hotel and your budget allows, I'd suggest a lake-view room, especially one with a balcony. In spring or autumn, sitting on the balcony, you can see Yuantouzhu (Turtle Head Isle) – that green shoreline across the lake. The balcony faces directly onto Yuantouzhu's ferry terminal, offering beautiful and delightful scenery. I had initially planned to find a lakeside cafe to relax, but this balcony was just too good to leave. The room came with a capsule coffee machine, so I brewed a cup and sat on the balcony. A gentle breeze was blowing, a few swallows circled overhead (I assume their nests are on the hotel roof), and the lush greenery enveloped me in the fresh scent of plants. The view was expansive, with boats coming and going on distant Lake Taihu, yet it felt incredibly tranquil. I didn't catch the sunrise or sunset, but I did witness the moonrise. I'd never seen the moon rise before; usually, when I look up, the moon is already high in the sky. There's a small hill directly opposite my room, and to my surprise, I saw the moon slowly ascending. It happened to be the 15th day of the ***** calendar, and the night sky was deep blue and cloudless. Unfortunately, my photography skills aren't great, so I couldn't capture it, and my literary abilities aren't good enough to describe it in words. All I can say is, it was incredibly beautiful. I'm not sure if this is visible every season, or if the moon might rise from a different spot sometimes. My knowledge of astronomy and geography isn't the best, but I imagine the moon doesn't always appear from the exact same location. The greenery between the hotel and Lake Taihu isn't all part of the hotel property, and you can't walk through it as there are fences marking off third-party property. The hotel's back garden is quite large; it takes a good half-hour to wander through every corner. In the evenings, they show open-air movies on the lawn. It's not too cold or hot right now, and the mosquitoes haven't started working yet, so it's quite comfortable. However, I'm not sure if this happens on non-holidays. Around May Day, they even had fireworks in the evenings. Fireworks aren't normally available on weekdays, and I'm not sure about weekends. This is a resort-style hotel. The hotel's facilities are pretty good. I was initially worried about it being outdated since it was renovated in 2016, but it didn't feel old at all, and the decor was quite nice. The parking lot is huge, with both an underground garage and outdoor parking spaces. There's a gym, ping-pong, tennis courts, and a pool. There's also an AI trail, which is a 1km loop around the back garden. They have small three-wheeled scooters, but I'm not sure if they're free or require a QR code payment to use. The staff are all very friendly and provide good service. There are a few areas for improvement. The gym has a sort of cable machine, which is great, but the accessory options are a bit limited. Also, the hotel's signage is a bit unclear. The underground garage is actually on the hotel's 1st floor, but there are no signs indicating how to get from the garage to the public areas on the 1st floor. When exiting the garage to check in, the elevator sign says the hotel lobby is on the 3rd floor, and reception is on the 5th floor. Taihu Hotel's layout is a bit different from other hotels, so I was slightly confused and went to the 3rd floor looking for the lobby, but check-in is actually on the 5th floor. Perhaps it would be helpful to add a note like ”Reception (Check-in)” next to ”Reception” on the signs.

My stay at Atour truly exceeded expectations! The room facilities were incredibly thoughtful – smart toilet, high-definition projector, and super soft mattress and pillows; lying down instantly melted away my fatigue. Even the desk and chair were comfortable. The breakfast selection was incredibly rich, offering everything from freshly ground coffee and squeezed juices to hot congee, pastries, and salads. The ingredients were fresh and the taste was fantastic, plus there were local specialty snacks. I felt energized all day after eating! The environment was simply beyond words. The lobby was quiet and elegant with a very soothing fragrance. The hallways and rooms were sparkling clean, with every detail meticulously cared for. The staff member, Hongdou, was also exceptionally gentle and attentive, always happy to help with any request. My stay was so comfortable! I'll definitely choose Atour again next time.

My friends often stay at their place, and they've always impressed me in every way. They're always quick to resolve any issues. The noodles and wontons for breakfast are delicious; the noodles are specially ordered, and the auntie said a bowl of Fu Fu noodles tastes just like childhood! The rooms are simply yet elegantly decorated and comfortable, very clean, and the front desk staff are all very welcoming and friendly—it feels like coming home. Whenever I'm in Wuxi, I always stay at their place. The key is that it's truly comfortable and spacious. The washer-dryer combo in the room is very powerful, the same model as Atour, washing and drying quickly; I can have dry clothes in just an hour, which is very convenient.

An absolutely fantastic stay! Atour, as always, delivers consistent quality. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the service was warm and attentive. The location next to MixC is super convenient for getting around and dining. Both rooms we booked were excellent. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Wuxi. Highly recommend!

I read a lot of reviews before booking, so my expectations were quite low. But I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived! The hotel is a bit old, that's a fact, but thankfully, it was very clean. The location is absolutely amazing, right next to Cherry Blossom Valley. During cherry blossom season, having a shuttle to get into the park was a huge advantage compared to regular tourists who have to buy tickets and wait in line. The hotel service was excellent. They upgraded us to a room with a courtyard. The staff were all very helpful and tried their best to assist with any questions we had. Since we were traveling with a child, they provided extra blankets and disposable bathtub liners. The breakfast on the second day was also very good – the cherry blossom xiaolongbao were delicious, and the Suzhou noodles were great too. We could enjoy views of Cherry Blossom Valley while dining, and the 'King Cherry Tree' was right in our courtyard. The hotel lobby had complimentary tea and a coffee machine, which was a huge plus for coffee lovers. They even gave us some creative cultural ice cream, which made my child super happy!

Traveling with kids during spring break, this Holiday Inn Express was perfectly located. It's not far from the attractions, and right next to MixC shopping mall and the subway station, making getting around super convenient. Before check-in, the front desk upgraded us to a family room, which was incredibly thoughtful. The room was huge, with two separate bedrooms, each with a large bed, offering great privacy. Excellent value for money!
