She even helped us book the high speed rail tickets together with her colleague Mindy and reminded me gently to check out on time to catch the train. Kudos to Anni and Mindy!

Nice view of the sea from a great balcony. The beach nearby is dirty and it's not really worth spending a lot of time. The gardens are a little small to walk in. Breakfast and service from staff are both good. More like a four star hotel. They helped with luggage which was really nice. The lobby was nice to sit in.

I took my mother on a tour around Hainan Island and found a room with a tatami tea table in this hotel. It was very convenient to eat next to Wenchang Middle School. There were many choices. Conveniently locate and easy access to amenities. Front desk staff was courteous and helpful. The hotel is very dated. Though the bedroom was decently clean, the bathroom was a mess. It had stain marks all over the walls. The groutings in the shower cubicle had mild dew stains and so was the anti-slip bath mat. It is definitely not fit to be used. The foldable wooden windows above the wash basin had rotted and the paint was coming off. Coordination between front office and dining room staff was poor resulting in me being questioned about my eligibility to have breakfast. A moment of embarrassment. However the manager apologised and sent us a complimentary fruit platter and a pot tea.

The room was very clean, the quilt pillows were all right, there was a small refrigerator, the balcony view was also very wide, the check-in and check-out were not the same reception, but the two front desk service was very friendly and warm, and the items were left when checking out. At first, I was placed in a one-room suite on the second floor above the dining room, with a huge useless INTERNAL balcony (like in prison). What's the point of making a balcony inside the courtyard? To look at your neighbors on the balconies 10-15 meters away and right next to them on the right? At the dining room below and the palm trees above it? At the sky? And anyone can climb from the passage onto your balcony at night over the railings... and come right up to the huge glass wall, behind which the bed is. The design in the room was just as crazy, with pretensions (a vase of flowers in a chest of drawers instead of a refrigerator or a safe!). The most important thing is NOT A SINGLE hook, it is not clear how to dry and hang things. The doors to the toilet and shower do not reach the floor and ceiling - i.e. there are holes. Moreover, the soundproofing from the upper floor is so bad that I heard every time my neighbors went to the toilet and shower! In the morning, I asked for another room at the reception... I was IMMEDIATELY, without discussion or objection, placed in a very beautiful corner two-room suite on the 4th floor with two normal external balconies, a normal shower and a bathtub! There was a refrigerator and TWO TVs, but the same problem: NOT A SINGLE HOOK - I hung my things on chairs, sofas, on the balcony railings... General conclusion: take a suite right away, there are even two-level suites with an exit to the roof, and the roofs there are beautiful. The staff is excellent and helpful, but they do not speak English, they use translators on their smartphones somehow. Breakfasts in the canteen are unlimited in volume (and in time 3-4 hours), but the cuisine is more for the Chinese, there are few European dishes. There is coffee.
