Fabulous location within walking distance of the historical sights, wonderful restaurants and shopping; yet still quiet and serene. The service is fabulous, every staff member addressed us by name and met every request graciously. Breakfast on the terrazzo overlooking the Grand Canal was a highlight.

Gracious and kind hospitality, stunning location on the Grand Canal, spacious room, convenient to everything, magnificent breakfast and attention to every detail. I booked the Jr. Suite on the Grand Canal which is huge and has windows right ON the Grand Canal...just a few feet above the water level. I have been to Venice 7 times, first time at this hotel, and I don't think there is a better room in all of Venice. I also don't think there is a better breakfast and certainly no better Terrace...perfect for breakfast and a final glass of prosecco before bed to just enjoy the view. An extravagance just for me, but so worth it. Matteo is especially kind and was so helpful as my travel plans kept changing requiring me to change my reservation several times. No problem at all and reassurances that they would do all that they could to have my room available for my early arrival (noon)...and they did. Not wanting the days to end, I went to the Terrace (bar) every evening for a prosecco and Pippo was delightful and engaging. The bed and pillows are very comfortable, the air conditioning is individually controlled and excellent (it was extremely hot and humid). The bathroom is a little small but very well equipped and an excellent shower. And the nicest slippers that I have ever had in any hotel anywhere! All photos on their website are excellent and accurate so I am only attaching the view.

Staying at Al Ponte Antico was an unforgettable experience. This charming, family-owned hotel is run with care and passion by a wonderful husband-and-wife team, whose dedication to hospitality is felt in every detail. The customer service and personal attention we received were exceptional. From warm welcomes to helpful recommendations, we always felt truly cared for. The hotel itself is beautifully preserved with historical charm, while offering modern comfort—our room was spotlessly clean and thoughtfully appointed. The location is unbeatable, right on the Grand Canal with a stunning view of the Rialto Bridge—absolutely magical, especially at sunrise or dusk. If you’re looking for a place that combines authentic Venetian character, impeccable service, and breathtaking views, I wholeheartedly recommend Al Ponte Antico.

Venice would have been amazing no matter where we stayed but this hotel really made the experience for us as good as it could be. The staff are amazing. Mateo and his wife (the owners), GiGi and Alex made us feel like family. They greeted us by name and the owners are making guests breakfast every day. The recommendations they gave for shopping and eating were spot on every time. We were very sad to leave and would go back in a heartbeat.

My husband and I had the most amazing stay at Al Ponte Antico. The service was beyond amazing and the hotel itself was immaculate. This was our first time traveling to Venice and we can’t wait to return. We arrived by water taxi to the hotel (which the staff were able to set up for us) and we were immediately greeted by staff and given a tour of the property. Our room was beautiful and charming and the outdoor terrace was amazing as well. Alex was so helpful and kind and gave us recommendations and tips each day. He recommended so many delicious restaurants and beautiful areas to explore. We had the pleasure of speaking with the owners each day at breakfast as well. The food, service, and stay were all so amazing. We will definitely return! The service we experienced here was absolutely top notch. If you’re coming to Venice, you need to stay here!! Thank you to Alex, Oliver, Gigi, Giuseppe, Jean Paul, Matteo, Barbara, and all of the amazing staff who made our stay so special! We hope to see you again soon!

This lovely boutique hotel made our stay in Venice so special. Our views from the water level suites were breathtaking, as was the view from the breakfast patio. Breakfast was amazing which included fresh homemade pastries, fresh squeezed juice, eggs made to order, and an array of other treats. Waking up in the morning without a single person on the Rialto Bridge was incredible. The staff is impeccable and warm. We hope to return to beautiful Venice someday and I wouldn’t look to stay at any other place.

All the reviews that describe how special Al Ponte Antico is are 100% accurate. Take a look at them - these are reviews written by people who have submitted countless reviews. Nobody at the hotel asked us to do it...we just couldn't wait to share how special this hotel is. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave you are in the best hands. Matteo (the owner with his wife), Gigi and the entire staff are the best trained hotel staff my wife and I have ever seen. To say they make you feel at home is an understatement. But then there are the rooms. We stayed in a junior suite with a water level view of the canal (including the Rialto Bridge). Breathtaking, unforgettable, mesmerizing. A generous junior suite - it is absolutely perfect. And the location of the hotel couldn't be better. The hotel is intimate, beautiful, special, and I wouldn't even consider another hotel if we're lucky enough to return to Venice. What a find! Truly off the charts outstanding.

By far our favorite hotel in Venice and we have been several times. This will forever be the hotel we visit now in Venice. The view of Rialto Bridge from their private terrace absolutely stunning.. we enjoyed the terrace many times including breakfast and during the day when we needed to cool down with a refreshing beverage! It is a small boutique hotel and each room perfectly decorated with typical Venetian style, many antiques and exquisite attention to detail. It is owned by Matteo and his wife, they really go above and beyond for their guests to make your stay memorable. I could not believe the entire staff always addressed us by our names! Breakfast was made by his wife which had so many homemade pastries. We travel all over the world and many 5 star hotels and this is by far the most amazing hotel we have ever stayed. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful.

We spent four nights at this incredible, nine-room hotel in early May. It was possibly the finest hotel experience we’ve ever had. The hotel is a former palazzo, located right on the Grand Canal and within a baseball’s throw of the Rialto Bridge. The rooms and eating area are full of period furnishings. The hotel’s charming and gracious owner Matteo is from a hotelier family and he met and welcomed us on our arrival, even though airline snafus caused us to show up seven hours later than planned and with no luggage. He and his staff regularly made us feel welcomed and important, always knowing our names. His Venetian-born wife Barbara is an amazing baker, providing much of the elegant breakfast we enjoyed each morning. We loved eating breakfast and having a late-afternoon drink on the terrace, overlooking the canal and bridge. The hotel’s veteran staff were always warm, enthusiastic and helpful with recommendations and advice. They saw that our luggage eventually caught up with us and got it to our room, and they arranged for a water taxi to take us to the train station on our departure day. We can’t recommend this place enough.

All the other positive reviews are accurate although words cannot really convey how fabulous it is to stay here. This hotel is beyond outstanding on so many levels. In no particular order: location cannot be beaten; the rooms are spacious and sumptuous (we stayed in a canal view room which was divine but really a view’s not necessary. Book what you can.); breakfast and drinks on the terrace with the view of the Rialto Bridge and watching the world go by on the Grand Canal is just wonderful; daily breakfast itself is a gourmet delight; the restored palazzo is just gorgeous and of course the staff are incredible. Thank you Matteo, Barbara, Oliver, Alexander, Gigi, Giam-Paul (apologies for incorrect spelling) and another lovely gentleman who served us at breakfast (I’m sorry not to have your name). You all made our stay so special and memorable. If considering whether or not to stay here at Al Ponte Antico, don’t overthink it and don’t delay. If there’s a vacancy grab it. You won’t be sorry. Also ask the hotel to book your water taxi from the airport or train. Expensive form of transport but worth it. Thank you to the hotel team for a fantastic (but too short) stay.

The Al Ponte Antico was the perfect place to start our honeymoon in Italy. We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed every minute! The service was excellent, all of the staff members knew our names, and were helpful with recommendations and tips for navigating Venice. They were incredibly welcoming and truly made it feel like home. Matteo, the owner, was there when we arrived and every morning for breakfast. Probably the best service I've ever experienced at any hotel. Our room was spacious and the decor felt authentic to Venice. It's in an old (beautiful!) palazzo, so the lighting in our room was a little wonky from time to time, but it wasn't a big deal. It's impeccable location on the grand canal, overlooking the Rialto Bridge did also bring some nighttime noise, but it was totally worth it. Breakfast was great and a wonderful way to start each day. Don't miss the chance to get a cappuccino or caffe latte from their impressive copper espresso machine. It was a bit too chilly in the mornings during our visit to eat on the patio, but we spent almost every afternoon there enjoying the view and apertivos. Those afternoons were a highlight of our visit.

The hotel staff were very friendly and provided us with excellent suggestions for restaurants and site seeing. The breakfast was lovely with omelettes cooked by the hotel owner! Brilliant view of the Rialto bridge and the canal from the terrace. Thanks to all the staff for a fabulous stay.

We stayed here for 4 nights in a junior suite with private terrace. The room was spacious, very clean and a very comfortable bed. It is only a few minutes walk from the Rialto bridge and is very convenient for all the tourist spots. After a day of walking it was great to sit on the terrace and watch the gondolas go past. Breakfast is very good with plenty of choice and lots of home made bread and pastries. A fabulous stay.

Incredible hotel. Incredible service. THE place to stay in Venice. Absolutely fabulous location, beautiful rooms and amazing breakfast. The best bit? The staff. They are simply wonderful. All of them (Oliver, Pepe, Alex and owners Matteo and Barbara - thank you!!). I proposed to my (now!) fiance on our hotel terrace and the hotel team helped make that moment, and every other moment we spent at their beautiful hotel memorable and perfect. We WILL be back to stay at this incredible hotel again. And if you are reading this, looking for somewhere to stay in Venice, you should too. You will NOT be disappointed.

What a wonderful hotel and Venice experience. All the staff were exceptional to us during our stay. Water taxi from the train station was about 15-20 minutes down the main channel, immediately giving us a tour of the city and its architecture, markets, homes, and hotels. Location is next to Rialto Bridge and 10 minute walking distance to almost anything we chose to see during our stay. The canal patio was always a pleasure to relax on and have a “Select Spritz.” The breakfasts were always a well prepared spread and ready-to-order eggs were a delight. There is no restaurant on-site but many within a very short walking distance. Hotel staff was able to provide patio snacks in the form of olives and potato chips. The café machine is 1/1 and a sight to see by itself. Gorgeous! For those unfamiliar or curious, some rooms have walk-in showers while others are bathtub showers. We often heard they were smaller than what our friends were used to at home. I had a bathtub shower and while tight, it was easy enough for my wife and I to use. I recommend when booking, you be specific about shower access if you need specific access requirements. Bedrooms and beds were comfortable and spacious. House staff would even turn-down our beds in the evening before our return from dinner that evening. I would highly recommend a stay here for anyone wanting to visit Venice. Bravo Al Ponte Antico Hotel!!!
