Malang City Hotels with Pools

Fantastic hotel with all the amenities and excellent service. The staff are incredibly friendly and proactive. There's a great Italian restaurant attached to the hotel. The rooms are modern, super clean, and spacious. The location in Malang is a good base for exploring, but the only drawback is that it's on a fairly busy road. All in all, definitely a fantastic hotel to stay at.

Stayed for 2 nights and had a lovely time. Overall, the place was clean and looked new. Room was clean and relatively spacious. There were only a few, small issues that prevented this from being an all 5 star review. Firstly, sound proofing was bad. I could hear what my neighbours were watching on TV at night, and as we were facing the pool, we could also hear when people were running around there. Secondly, the lifts were really slow and narrow for a seemingly new hotel. The first day I arrived, 2 out of 3 lifts were not working. And the lifts themselves were very narrow and uncomfortable to be in when there were more than 5 persons in the lift. Lastly, the kettle provided in the room was faulty, it didn't stop boiling unless you pressed it manually, making it a bit dangerous for guests who are unaware. But like I said, these just irked me, and other guests may not feel the same way. Overall still a very pleasant stay and good amenities all around.

The hotel staff were very patient and friendly, and the service was very good overall. However, the soundproofing in the room was extremely poor, so we could hear a lot of noise from outside. There was also an unpleasant smell coming from the tap water. Both the room and the hallway had a strong damp and musty smell, which was quite uncomfortable. As for the restaurant, the food was quite disappointing. It was very average and there was nothing particularly special about it. Overall, the staff and service were good, but the room conditions and the food at the restaurant could be improved significantly.

The location is actually top notch, located close to the city Centre and easy to reach all the most famous destination. The cleanliness is the best by far, I was ordering 2 times to get new towels and they prepared it well. On top of that, I was asking to change the cover of the bed and they did it at their best. The only minor in my opinion, but to me is bothering my last stay at the hotel. On the last day, I was getting breakfast as usual, ordering 2 sunny side up (half cook). I knew it was on Saturday morning and more busy compare the normal days. The cook was quite new I believe, he looked overwhelm with all the orders and suddenly he said that he ran out of the gas. Boom…all the cooking was off, all the staffs looked busy to get a new gas tube. It was around 15 minutes I guess until I came to the egg station again and asked to the same order. The cook was saying okay I will prepare it first then I would be sending to your table. No I said, I will be waiting here because the last time I ordered it he just said yes while other guests was also ordering the same thing. He was even not typing at all then how could he be remembering whose ordering the eggs. All and all, it was still a great experience and ambience to stay at this hotel. I would definitely be staying back in the next visit.

The hotel itself is in the city centre and within a mall which is convenient but it can get very crowded (and jammed) on weekends. The staff are polite and understanding. We had to pay 100k IDR deposit for our rooms but since we were carrying sleeping kids, they let us check into the rooms first. Room is clean but old and basic. The room does not have safe deposit box, unmovable shower head. Basic amenities are dental kit, sanitary bag, shower cap, and lotion. Shampoo and shower gel are 2-in-1 and stuck on the wall. There’s only bath towel (no hand towel). Sound-proofing can be improved since the corridor is not carpeted. Breakfast is free for kids 5 and below. Taste-wise it’s ok. Apart from egg station, salad, waffles and bakery section, the rest are very much Indonesian style.

Spacious room, great location. Pros: Very large room with a cool mountain wall mural. Clean bed and decent amenities. Excellent location walking distance to the train station, the Rainbow Village and the Blue Village. Cons: The bathroom tub had some black mold spots. Breakfast started a bit later than 6 am, which was an issue due to early morning travel plans. Still, for the price, it’s great value.

The room is just the right size for a couple or a small family of 3- 2 adults and a child. The bed is comfortable. The shower is separated from the toilet bowl area. The TV is not a smart and no Netflix or YouTube. The swimming pool is not big so be aware if you and your family want to swim, choose the right timing to avoid crowds. The gym is facing the pool. There are several food options surrounding the hotel. The carpark is small too located at basement. Overall, it is an okay place to stay. Clean and comfortable.

Wow... Grand Cakra Malang was amazing for our family Christmas vacation in Malang. There's a GMS Church in the hotel ballroom, so we could attend service there – absolutely incredible! I didn't realize all of God's blessings before. We had a memorable Christmas at Grand Cakra. There are many coffee shops and eateries in front of the hotel. It's in the Arraya area, an upscale residential neighborhood in Malang... It was great staying for 4 days and 3 nights. The 2-bedroom suite with breakfast was fantastic, and it was also close to the pool, so my grandkids could swim. Overall, it was wonderful. the room is spacious, clean and comfortable. the staff so kind and helpful. its near with train station and city center. i will definetely back to this hotel if i come to malang again! thankss, i had such a great time here

The staff was friendly, very helpful. They prepared a special breakfast since I went to Mt. Bromo tour and I couldn't arrive before 10am. The swimming pool looked nice. The only issue is the wifi which was intermitent.
