The most relaxing stay! Was greeted on reception by Tricia who was wonderful, as it was my wife and I’s first wedding anniversary she gave us a couple of complimentary drinks vouchers which was a lovely touch. The room was beautiful, very clean. The only minor fault to point out was there was a glass which still had lipstick on it, not a huge deal to us though. The pool/jacuzzi were lovely and weren’t overly busy even at 6pm. Would’ve happily stayed in the pool all day! We had food in the restaurant in the evening which again, we couldn’t fault. Krish made the most beautiful margaritas that were up there with the best I’ve ever had! Service was great and there wasn’t a wait for anything. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we can’t wait to come back. The staff are an absolute credit to the company and hotel!

Stayed one night. Not sure if because of renovation, the reception area wasn't very welcoming, pretty much self check-in set up but staffed too. Busy hotel, popular pool, gym, need to wait your turn for sauna & steam room but Impressed with facilities. Room service food was basic. The room definitely need updating and shower pressure not great. Overall fine though, would stay again.

We stayed at the Hilton Cardiff for four days at the end of March 2023. We really enjoyed our stay! The people at reception made us feel very welcomed, and couldn’t have been nicer! ALL of the people who work here were extremely friendly and helpful. We wanted to give a special thank you to Mark, the night manager. He was always cheerful - at the beginning AND at the end of his shift in the morning, which is not easy! He even kindly got us a bucket of ice very early one morning when my wife hurt her knee as she was stepping out of bed and the bed rolled away from her. We spoke to Mark about the incident, and hopefully, by now, they have fixed the “rolling coasters with no brakes on the box springs” problem. Mark was so kind and concerned about her fall that he checked on her twice - right after the incident and even the next day, which was the last day of our stay. The breakfast buffet had an excellent variety of hot and cold food offerings and was maintained to perfection by the attentive and efficient staff! The buffet was hosted by Bassam, who was very personable and interesting to talk with. The executive lounge was lovely, with beverages and a few snacks available throughout the day. There is an evening manager’s reception and some savory finger foods were offered each night. Our room had a stunning view of Cardiff Castle and the castle grounds! We would happily return to Hilton Cardiff, and we thank them for making our stay really memorable and pleasant. As a side note, we took the Cardiff Castle Ghost Tour and highly recommend it! It’s great to be able to tour the castle at night, and the two hosts were full of fun facts and historical information about the beautiful and “over the top” decor of the castle!

This hotel has a great location with the rooms being very neat and tidy, if a touch out of date. Being only a 5-10 minute walk to the centre of town and a 15-20 minute walk to Cardiff Bay is near perfect.
However during my stay, the pool was closed for renovation, one of the lifts was out of service and there appeared to be a large number of long term guests that require security guards on site at night in addition to having to lock in your breakfast time ahead of schedule.

My wife and I came to celebrate our anniversary with a spa day and as it was my birthday we decided to book the room for the night. We were absolutely amazed. Not only were the staff absolutely awesome, but they give us an upgrade plus free breakfast and when we got to the room we were greeted with rose petals on the bed, Welsh cakes on a slate and cards for our anniversary and birthday. All in all they really went out of their way and it made our stay absolutely incredible. I can’t thank the staff enough. We would highly recommend staying there

After having a number of afternoon tea’s in this hotel I’m saddened to say that todays experience was not like it has been in the past. The food was still good but the experience and service was a huge let down compared to before. The Hendricks afternoon tea’s have stopped which is sad as many of us would of had these. I ordered a second cup of coffee and ended up waiting 25 minutes for this. Some of my friends mentioned their coffee’s were cold. One asked for a second pot of tea, she was asked if she wanted a fresh pot or the one she’d been drinking topped up, she requested a fresh pot but received the same pot of tea back having just been topped up with hot water. The tea was weak and stewed. The Welsh cakes were dry and stale plastered in sugar! The atmosphere was lovely however it’s sad that we have all agreed we will not go back again (party of 13)! Plus there was a 10% service charge on top of the price for our afternoon tea. We gave a little more but thinking back on this I wish I had said no. Sorry to have to write this review.

GGuest UserI stayed in hotel indigo on the 5th - 7 th October and my stay was absolutely awful I stayed with my family and we was put into 2 different rooms on completely different floors my room was on 5th floor and my family members was on 1st floor, Each room was absolutely vile, clannishness of the rooms was absolutely disgusting, dust everywhere, my shower and room wasn’t cleaned to the standards it should of been cleaned to as a guest who’s staying. They didn’t empty the bins, they didn’t even clean the sink left all my tooth paste. Anyway back to the clannishness of the room, the head board to the bed was so dusty I could pick it off myself with my fingers and there was little hairs in my shower and first I thought I’d leave it until it got worse and I started to look around the room few days later now I’ve stayed in another hotel and realised actually how bad the cleansing actually is at hotel indigo so now I’ve decided to actually report it, im not one to moan at reception it’s something I’d personally keep to myself but I’ve realised how bad this hotel actually is though I’d leave a little review. I will attach photos that I did take.
GGuest UserStopped at Holiday Inn Cardiff from Friday to Sunday to see the speedway at principality stadium. Hotel was perfect location for us. Easy to park at the hotel which was an added bonus as at other hotels we’ve had to park at NCPs. Rooms were good and spotlessly clean. The air conditioning worked extremely well and was a nice change from the heatwave outside! Hotel was very quiet which was surprising given how busy it was. Had breakfast both mornings, which had a good choice with the buffet being topped up regularly. Despite being an extremely busy weekend we were seated instantly and didn’t have to wait for the buffet top ups. The only thing letting the hotel down and giving a reduction in rating was reception. The receptionists came across very cold and did not display the “true hospitality” which we usually see at IHG hotels. Did not feel welcomed at all. The coldness and abruptness was felt at both check in and check out by different staff.
GGuest UserClayton was okay as far as hotels go, it was nice having a view of Cardiff from a top floor, staff were friendly too.
The Gym was tiny for the size of the hotel, the bedroom was a standard double room, the reviews said that the Clayton had been newly refurbished, but felt that the room was dated. Due to windows not being able to be open due to H&S, there was no fresh air, just air con. The room was mostly clean, few stains on the carpet, and floor felt dusty.
The hotel location was great, near the train station and in town, but for the cost, I was expecting something much better, as the night before we had a much cheaper hotel, and rooms came with kitchens, and were very modern - wish I had stayed at that one for the extra few nights.
It was a very last minute booking due to train cancellations. Very accommodating and price was affordable. Room was very spacious and clean. All staff very friendly especially Fay at the Bar and Grill. Food at the grill was very nice and plenty of it and again affordable prices.
GGuest UserThe Positives! Reception was very friendly and extremely helpful, allowing us to check in well before 3pm. Both ladies from house keeping that I came across could not have been more helpful. Restaurant staff were pleasant, efficient and served well cooked food that was nicely presented by the chef. The bedroom was spacious with a comfortable bed and well equipped bathroom. I was impressed by the inclusion of a table and chairs to sit at with a drink whilst watching the good sized television. The negatives1 Torn wallpaper and marks on the wall. Although on the third floor you can't sleep with a window open for all the traffic noise below. To the credit of the hotel they are hosting families from Ukraine but this causes its own problems. We were the only non-Ukraine guests using the restaurant on our first night and had our peace disturbed by the children being allowed to run around making a noise in the adjoining foyer. As the children need to get to school they have an early breakfast so consequently we arrived at 8.30 to find all the fruit salad and croissants gone. There was only one glass left for fruit juice and all the bread for toast had been eaten. This is a simple matter of logistics which the hotel should be addressing. Finally, due to a no smoking policy the Ukraine adults gathered in small groups outside the entrance to smoke which not only created a poor image but they were reluctant to move, requiring other guests to walk around or through them!
GGuest UserLauren was amazing - found us a room that we could check into around 7am when our flight was cancelled a couple of hours earlier. Lauren even printed our new boarding passes for us. Lovely staff member. Room was small but fine, no extra pillows were available though. Bathroom shower was lovely - very powerful :) Air con said 18 degrees but I’m not sure it was quite that cool. Location is excellent and great value for money. Again, kudos to Lauren! Remember - no restaurant on site but PLENTY of options on the doorstep!
GGavinConvenient location for both the train station and city centre. Walking distance to the castle and other tourist attractions. I got unlucky with pricing since I was unknowingly there during university graduations, so the price I paid definitely wasn't worth it, but their regular pricing seems fair.
FFrenchfries_KI checked in very late and the room card was ready when I arrived. Parking was free. The room was comfortable and equipped with basic shower supplies.
LLewisWasn't great mostly due to the fact that you had Taxi drivers outside beeping horns all hours of the night.
People fighting and shouting outside the hotel.
As well as the Fire alarm going off at about 10:40pm.
I had to check out by 04:50 Am to catch a train and I didn't get to sleep until about 2:30am
This hotel is however right next to Cardiff Central Station so perfect for Travelling by train. Which is why I booked here.
After explaining my stay to reception I asked for a bottle of water for my travels and it was given to me complimentary which I really appreciated.
The hotel Staff were polite and welcoming, however and the room was quite clean. TV didn't work however which is a shame.
BBhuttaEverything was on our expectations from 3 star. Room size was spacious. Kids can stay free. Breakfast was served fresh and everything available as per needed. Location was central which helped us reaching to main attractions easily. I would recommend.
