"Staff are very friendly and do their best to help you. Beach is nice, golden sand, but came in October and the sandflies were very bad. Hotel says that they do sandfly control but still got bitten many times. Will try another area next time, not worth the red welts due to sandfly bites. Food in the beach restaurant was subpar. Stayed in Selangor Villa, it was quaint to experience a traditional Malay villa, but there are clear signs of aging - don’t expect fancy new kind of place. This is super aged villa."

"First, let's talk about the location: It's absolutely superb, nestled in a quiet, dense forest surrounded by a bay. A long row of buildings connects to an extended covered walkway, so even in the tropics, you're completely shielded from the sun. Facilities: To be honest, as the first Club Med in Asia, it really shows its age. The room facilities are almost like something from China in the 1980s – very small and worn out. Those looking for perfection might be a bit disappointed. Hygiene: Due to the old facilities, it just felt a bit unhygienic overall. For example, the towels were yellowish. I brought my own disposable toilet seat covers, disposable facial towels, and disposable bath towels for the entire stay. Service: The service was still okay. Luggage transport, guidance, and dining were all fine. The dining was pretty thoughtful; the meals changed daily, which was quite good. Snacks, BBQ, afternoon tea, cocktails, and drinks were available for enjoyment at any time. However, for someone like me who prefers natural beverages, it was a bit lacking. The fruit drinks were heavily watered down. I asked for a natural coconut and was told it would be an additional 15 MYR. I said that was fine, but then I was told they were out of stock. I find it a bit incomprehensible that in the tropics, natural coconuts aren't readily available. All the staff were relatively warm and friendly, the entertainment program was rich, and the kids' club offered different activities every day. I'd like to specifically mention that the hotel breakfast ends at 10:00 AM. If you're still eating, you'll be told to leave, which seems very unfriendly and unreasonable!"
