Dambulla Hotels with Shuttle Service

This is not our first stay at the hotel. This was our 3rd or 4th visit and it is the last for sure due to their poor customer handling and management. I must say that our previous stays were fabulous and i have made positive reviews in TripAdvisor for those. However, this time most of the staff are new to us and not so friendly and caring as the ones who were there earlier starting from the front office. They just don't care, I don't know if its because we are local travellers. On the other hand, the ”amberella” welcome drink is awesome as always. We stayed in a Duplex as there were 4 adults and my 9 month old baby. The rooms were clean and spacious. The living area was giving a calming vibe and had the same look as their other villas we have stayes before. Our baby, husband and I were in the upstair room and when we entered the room is was heated up and the air conditioner was not working properly. It was so uncomfortable so we called the front office and they sent a team to repair. It was taking alot of time so we requested for another room as our baby was feeling tired and needed a nap. Plus, they had adequate rooms vacant and even had Duplex category rooms available too. Still, they refused to shift us to another room so we kept the baby in the ground floor room. The repair took around 2 hours! And then we went to the room and the air conditioner was working. Yet, we were not able to have a nap and relax as we had to go out to Anuradhapura which is the main reason for our visit. So we came back at around 9.30pm and the air conditioner was not working again. Again the same drill, a team came, inspected and told us they need to repair again and it was 11.45pm when they said this. We refused because we were already exhausted as needed to sleep. Also, now, at 11.45 at night they are asking us if we can move to another room (Duplex category). They had vacant Duplex category rooms all this time and in the moddle of the night they are asking us to shift. In my head I was bursting but we were all too tired to keep arguing or leaving the useless place so we stayed in the same Duplex room just till morning. Early morning we left the hotel without breakfast eventhough we had paid for full board. They charged us the whole amount and invoiced for the additional food as well as mini bar (just mentioned this if not someone could think that they must've given a discount or wave-off). So we paid almost 500USD just for one night for this drama. We will never go back to this hotel and not at all recommend. I guess the main issue was poor management of the situation and it shows how poor the hotel management is. We were in Duplex 3 (Kohomba). This hotel staff or management will never care about the customer if something goes wrong and lacks hospitality. Afterall, while we were having our breakfast we got a call from the general manager of the hotel and he apologized but I think it is too late as we have already left their property. This is the best and best hotel to stay in during your stay in Lanka! The entire hotel is in a mango garden, the environment is very beautiful! The hotel is also very clean and the service is in place. The breakfast was very good and the place to eat was great! Overlooking the pool and a large green area, it is simply a beautiful experience. The environment is fragrant, and there are nights at night. The security is also very good. Especially on the second day because of the urgency, my lover put some valuables in the room, our bags are already on the way to Nuvo, and it has been open for 20 minutes. After suddenly thinking about the amount, the DILI driver was very enthusiastic to help the hotel call, the other party sent someone to say that they were still in the room, and then rushed back to the hotel to take it, which was a sigh of relief. Thank you for the hotel! In addition, this hotel room is to be locked with a key, not directly locked to the door, this should be noted. After we checked in, I went to Lion Rock after cleaning up. When my lover locked the door, I brought it directly to the door. When I came back, I opened the door with a single push. Fortunately, nothing was lost. This shows that this hotel is really ok. Of course, if you have to live in this hotel, you still have to keep your belongings safe. There is a safe in the room.

The hotel is right next to the cave temple and you can walk past it, which is very convenient. The hotel can report to Lion Rock for a group tour, or charter a car to Lion Rock, and then go to the ancient city. The price is billed in US dollars.

I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the outstanding hospitality during my recent stay on 8th December at Sigiriya Kingdom Resort - Dambulla . From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and cared for by your attentive and professional staff. Thank you once again for making my stay so enjoyable and comforatable with my three kids.The restaurant staff was totally tendered a child friendly service.I will certainly recommend your hotel to others and look forward to returning in the future.

It was clean and easy to spend and very good! I was able to spend comfortably. The temperature of the shower was not wet and good Wifi was stable without being cut off immediately There's a dryer, a towel, and tea. The welcome drink was delicious ・ kind Close to the bus stop, easy to go to Seigiliya Pizza Hut is close, so you can get dinner here at the worst I can spend a leisurely time because there was no noise It's not facing the pass road and it's a little backwards. There is no clear ”reception” place, so if you have a question, it feels like asking the house on the premises? The mosquitoes come in, so they never leave the door open.

Kalundewa retreat is a beutiful place designed preserving the nature. The service provided is also as expected and the food was also tasty. Staff is also nice and friendly and is always available for anything you need. We stayed at karanda chalet and the chalet was also spacious enough. The garden is also well maintained and overall it’s a beutiful place. Few recommendations that is better if done. 1. On top of the karanda chalet outdoor pool it’s a tree with lots of bats. As nature calls their feces also sometimes fall into the pool and a lot of leaves too fall into the pool. We are very happy to see the pool in the middle of nature but having a dip and swimming in that outdoor pool is a bit risky.. so we didnt swim. If you can please clean the pool as much as possible before the guests arrive and try to come up with an idea to cover the pool when not in use. 2. So many glasses at karanda chalet are at a location that is not possible to clean daily.. clean them as much as possible and try to clean the outdoor glass doors before the next guest arrives ( so they have a crystal clear view through the glasses) 3. When we arrived a lot of leaves were fallen on the outdoor deck and the day bed cushions were not cleaned. I understand that according to the location of the karanda chalet if is very hard to keep it clean with the monkeys and the massive amount of large trees on top of it but I feel you can give a bit more effort to clean and keep to give a good looking first impression about the chalet to the guests. Please clean the outdoor day bed cushions and keep them separately so the guests can use them when needed ( otherwise the monkeys sit on them and make it dirty) 4. Bathroom is nice but being a five star hotel the bathroom amneties could have been of better quality. When ever possible please replace them to a luxury category. Also please keep up with your service. We had a nice stay there.
