Grand House Shaoxing was an 4000 years old village which had an ancient history, villagers surname Si (姒）were Dayu‘s (大禹)tomb guards for thousands of years. Now it is as a beautiful hotel with a lot of amenities ! Breakfast had many local specialties were very delicious ! It’s also had a big restaurant and wedding banquet hall ! Room is beautiful as in my photos. Hotel located only 4 KM from city centre, as taxi only cost less A$7. We stayed 3 nights, enjoyed peaceful country life, also the very busy tourist spot ! I must mention all the stuff in the hotel are so helpful, specially the young man who greeted us on arrival in the rain at night, helping us changed room because I can’t get to upstairs loft ! I hope more tourists visit Shaoxing and stay in this hotel, because it is a totally different experience from big city like Shanghai or Beijing, and you will not regret it.

The hotel environment is quiet, the air is good, clean and refreshing, but the supporting facilities are not complete, there is no minimum refrigerator in the room, especially the breakfast is the worst, the breakfast at this price is simple, the number is small, the variety is small, the most annoying is 8:30 in the morning to eat, have been empty and do not add, The waiter loved to ignore it, so disappointed

The houses and buildings are antique and very distinctive. The geographical location is good. It is 20-30 minutes drive from the Lanting Scenic Area and Lu Xun's hometown. It is not convenient to order takeout from the hotel. The nearest restaurant is Lao Tou Fried Shrimp. It takes 103 minutes to deliver the food.
