The staff needs to be trained on how to handle passports. I had to take my passport back from her several times as she was balling the pages up to flip through them. She treated my passport like an old magazine. At once point she dropped it on the counter to help another guest. I told her over 4 times to not bend the pages ip and she continued to ignore me. I was so upset by the bends in the new pages that I changed my booking from 7 days to one. I would have left immediately but it was late at night and I had just had a 12 hour train ride. Very careless and disrespectful of documents. My passport is less than 4 months old and in pristine condition. Or it was. I’m including an example below of how she handled it using my expired passport as an example.

Clean and quiet. Had everything you need. Staff was helpful and friendly.

A very good place for the price. Staff is very helpful, our first room was very noisy and they changed us to another. Location is very good , quiet neighbourhood with shops and vendors but still very close to the center with the metro a 4min walk away. Would definitely stay here again!

The hotel in Shanghai had a great location. The metro station is just a few minutes away, and you can walk to the main attractions in the city center in 30-40 minutes. There are grocery stores within a five-minute walk, which is very handy. There are also many good restaurants nearby where you can order food delivery. The rooms in the hotel are small, but they offer good value for the price. The rooms are cleaned every day, and guests get toothbrushes and bottled water, which makes the stay more comfortable. However, there are some downsides. There are fish markets near the hotel, so sometimes there’s an unpleasant fish smell on the street, especially when it’s hot. This smell attracts large cockroaches, which you might see on the street at night. This was a bit disappointing, but overall, the hotel left a good impression.

The room was not clean enough. I watched a big yellow spider crawling from the floor into the gap under the bed. Unfortunately, I didn't take a photo. The room was small and I could bump into my friends at the corner.
