A very good value hotel. Room was mostly clean, but could’ve been cleaned a bit better. Good location, close to lots of shops and restaurants.

I came back a second time because it’s a good price and space for solo traveler. Plus I enjoy this area of town for its liveliness, scenery, and it’s food. The ladies that work here are friendly and will help you find places to eat if you like. It’s generally clean but this isn’t really a holiday hotel. They are serviced apartments. Best for solo or friend travel or perhaps business.

The room is inexpensive for those who are saving money for traveling. The staff is lovely and helpful throughout the stay. The distance to walk to the subway is about 800 meters. You can see the city and the way of life of the people who are happy. There are many restaurants near the hotel, it is convenient to find food. The surrounding area is beautiful. Wi-Fi was ok In the bathroom - western toilet, hot water in the shower, toilet paper. The bedding was clean, the sanitary facilities too, but the bathroom joints were very moldy, the room smelled of cigarettes (the smell came through the vents). The air conditioning only worked superficially (it turned on for a minute and stopped working immediately), so the room was cold (we were there in December). The location was ok, 3 metro stations nearby, lots of restaurants and shops in the area. The service was ok - at the reception we communicated through a translator.

We spent 4 nights at Yaping Hotel and I totally recommend it. For me the location was perfect, because despite not being in the center, it is a very local area and allows you to get to know better how people live in Shanghai. It is a neighborhood full of life and very well connected with public transport. The room in question was somewhat simple (that's what we had requested) but they cleaned it whenever you asked, they changed sheets and towels and replenished gel and shampoo. Of course, the cleaning should be improved because, especially in the bathroom, it is very insufficient. The staff that works there is super friendly.
