The Longemont Shanghai

Truly excellent, very satisfied! Here are the details: 1. The location is superb, making it incredibly convenient to get anywhere in Shanghai. Plus, there are plenty of distinctive and delicious eateries in the surrounding area. 2. The service was exceptional. I arrived quite early, around 1 PM, and the friendly lady at the front desk proactively upgraded my room type. Mia from the Executive Lounge was incredibly helpful and attentive with the printing service, making me feel right at home. 3. The hotel breakfast spread was extensive, offering a wide variety of choices. 4. Our room was very quiet, ensuring excellent sleep quality. The swimming pool, on the other hand, was quite lively and bustling with people!

I remember when the Dragon Dream Hotel first opened; our company specifically chose it for team-building events. As a downtown 5-star hotel, its service, facilities, and dining were all first-class. I never would have thought that years later, bringing my children for a swimming holiday, this once-grand 5-star hotel would have declined so drastically in every aspect. Firstly, the breakfast was absolutely not 5-star quality – at best, it was 3-star level. For hot food, there were no noodles or wontons, just a single bowl of vermicelli. The baked goods section only offered walnut cakes and four types of steamed buns. Hot entrees were limited to a few chicken options, with sausages being much more common. There was only one type of plain congee, and it was served cold. My child lost their appetite after just a few bites. Secondly, the swimming pool, besides being small and rectangular, was completely overrun with gym members. You could barely swim a few strokes without bumping into someone. As for the room facilities, they were just passable. There was no comb or disposable razor. Unfortunately, a children's art troupe from out of town checked in on the same day we did. With such a large crowd, the service couldn't keep up. Breakfast items weren't replenished promptly, cold food wasn't replaced, and rooms weren't cleaned in a timely manner. Outwardly, it's still the Dragon Dream Hotel, but the actual service felt no better than a budget hotel like Jinjiang Inn. Of course, it still has one selling point: the view from the window. However, even the express hotels next door and across the street boast similar floor heights and views.
