I booked this hotel near Pudong because I had an early morning flight the next day. I was pleasantly surprised that they offer a complimentary airport shuttle – you just need to sign up for it when you check in. Being a chain hotel, I felt quite at ease. The staff, particularly one young lady, was also incredibly kind and helpful; she even gently sorted out some extra printing I needed. Genuinely a great place!

The hotel was pretty mediocre across the board. Its location isn't on the main road; after getting off the airport shuttle, we had to walk down some stairs and then quite a long distance along a very dark path. The hotel sign wasn't lit, making it very difficult to find. The room was small, and the decor was dated. It's really just a stopover hotel for one night if you have an early flight the next day. The only positive was that the airport shuttle the next day, after picking up about half a carload of guests from our hotel, didn't stop at any other hotels and went straight to the airport, which saved us a lot of time.

Upon check-in, the front desk attendant was very friendly and even provided two complimentary bottles of water. The room was also easy to find. While the facilities were a bit dated, the room itself was very clean and tidy. My window overlooked a river (though certainly not a 'river view' to boast about, as the river wasn't very clean). Additionally, the room's soundproofing wasn't great, and the lighting was a bit dim. However, the bed was quite comfortable. Overall, it was a pretty good experience, and I'd give it a positive rating.

It was the worst experience ever!
First, they lie about their shuttle schedule. It was supposed to be 24 hours a day but turned out it’s not true. Also, airport drop off provided very limited time slots even though the booking said it was supposed to be 24 hours also.
Second, they don’t inform that their shuttle doesn’t drop you off in front of the hotel doors. Instead, they dropped me off in the middle of a dark road and the bus driver waved down the stairs! How am I supposed to bring two luggages downstairs and then up the next morning???
Third, the staff was so rude! They don’t speak English at all and when you want to use a translator to ask questions, they look at you with annoyance and try to finish the ‘conversation’ asap.
Also, the hotel itself is terrible. I do understand I can’t expect something nice for that money but please, don’t lie! The photos don’t match the reality. Everything is dirty, I couldn’t even take a shower. Everything smells like cigarettes (I chose a non-smoking room). People smoke inside the halls, near the elevator, literally EVERYWHERE. I hate it!
I really don’t understand how come the hotel has so many 5-star reviews. Did you guys get paid?😅 I was relying on the reviews, such a shame.

If you plan to visit Shanghai this hotel is far from the main attractions and almost in the country side. However it is clean.
